  1. I bet we've moved on from Sam Gallagher.
  2. I can definately see why people say that but there's a decent player in there if someone can discipline him.
  3. Never mind Palmer, the task at hand is to replace Reed. That's a big loss.
  4. When I posted these I was waiting for some moron to post exactly this. Never played it but watch a lot of European football... Thanks for your brilliantly insightful contribution to transfer discussion though. ?
  5. Also, I'd have a look at Koziello at Koln. Moved from Nice where he was thought of highly but its definatley not worked out at Koln. His stock has fallen but at 23 there is definately a player in there if we can get him back to his early promise. Loan to buy would be a good shout.
  6. I'd be looking at Bielik from Arsenal. Can play centre half and holding mid, big lad, years in front of him but already has plenty of experience. Might be bigger clubs interested though.
  7. This Johnson one I'm not keen on. Seemed like a decent player at Norwich but for the most part has been trash at Derby. I think people are just choosing to look at his peak thinking he still has that ability but I think its long gone.
  8. If Johnson has been left at home then it would make sense that he's had a conversation where its been agreed that he should find another club. I don't doubt the Derby fan saying he's travelled up here but I recon it will be purely for talks, I wouldn't expect he'd just travel here and immediately sign, signings aren't that simple. Plus, his agent will be shopping him around to get the best deal possible.
  9. Didn't realise Johnson was 32. Surely Charlie Adam is a better option at 33, always been a miles better player.
  10. Have I missed something? When did he get promoted to the first team? Edit: Just seen the news
  11. Could be useful at centre half but I fear that only gives the manager an excuse to sqyeeze Bennett back into the team.
  12. Wouldn't be bothered to see him leave as long as his replacement is better.
  13. On Gallagher... He surely can't be costing more than a couple of mill. He hasn't really done anything since his season with us.
  14. Ah OK. For it to get as far as talks is an interesting one because surely there would have been some sort of rough financial agreement in place for talks to take place... Perhaps the manager didn't like what he saw/heard.
  15. I don't think much time was spent on him tbh...
  16. Didn't realise the Gallagher link was being reported by SSN has to be sonething in it.
  17. Done himself no favours...
  18. Spoke to a guy today who did some work on a house on buckshaw a while back. Turned out to be Reed who was living there. Hanley owns it and rents it back to Rovers. Reed never had any intention of staying but I think we all knew that. Mrs didn't like it up here, she wanted to be closer to her family. He got chatting to his neighbour who said Hanley was at it partying every weekend till 3am when he lived there, if he comes back I hope he's grown up.
  19. I've thought most comments on our lack of transfer activity have been mostly an overreaction but Mowbray has really done himself no favours here at all. What sort of manager looks at a side that conceded as many goals as we did and believes strengthening the back 4 isn't a priority? It's our main weakness mate, it was your main weakness at Coventry and it cost you your job. To me it sounds like he's now only looking at 1 defensive player, not even a keeper or left back. Nice season ticket push TM. Season over.
  20. On Payne... It doesn't exactly get my motor running but on a free and low wages could turn out to be a useful squad player. Put it this way, he's got some very good attacking midfielders to try and displace, so if he can manage to do that then he will be more than decent.
  21. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17729756.rovers-explore-keeper-options-with-leeds-youngster-considered/ This suggests to me that they're not now looking for a first choice keeper. If that's the case then that is putting next season in big jeapordy, especially if they fail to strengthen in other key areas too. Raya just isn't good enough for this standard, perhaps he will be in time, but we don't have time to stagnate in this league whilst he develops.
  22. Bennett shouldn't be playing.
  23. Sharpe saying no signings expected today. Was saying to Chaddy yesterday their could be something happening soon though.
  24. I've heard from people he was at a wedding with recently that he could be coming back. We should be looking to do better.
