  1. Oi! Mystic Meg! What's next lottery numbers???
  2. Direct competition doesn't sound like an upgrade in a position that has costed us loads of points. It's just another wage added on the wage bill without significant improvement. Raya is a decent keeper but I don't see him being any better than that. Fair enough, he's pulled off some good saves in the past few season but that should be the requirement of any goalkeeper at this standard... Even Leutweiler pulled off some decent ones at Norwich and I recall Simon Eastwood pulling off a few too... Doesn't mean any of them are or were good enough to be in a promotion pushing side. I do agree that people are being a tad sentimental about him.
  3. He might, he might not but if the money is right we can cash in and probably upgrade for less and reinvest elsewhere.
  4. I'd sell Raya for decent money in a heartbeat. Easily replaceable.
  5. For those mentioning Aribo... He's been linked with much bigger clubs than us. Good player.
  6. So we're going to end up with a bloated squad contrary to what the manager has only just been saying recently about us not being to sign player after player. How on earth does Samuel and Gladwin fit into the picture for minutes? Especially when it's likely another forward will be coming in.
  7. He used to play for KFC so at least he'll have no problem with Venkys paying him in chicken.
  8. We need an obvious upgrade IMO, else it's just wasted wages.
  9. Still has a year left on his contract by looks of it.
  10. Where has this Ruddy rumour come from?
  11. Just my opinion but I wouldn't want Hanley back. A season on the bench, clearly likes a drink, I think we need to look to do better than that.
  12. Dru Yearwood at Southend might be one to look at. Ivan Toney at Peterbrough looks, moves and plays like Wilf Zaha. Watched highlights from their games yesterday and looked unbelievable.
  13. Said exactly the same myself.
  14. Didn't realise Forster played for Southampton against West Ham, his first start since 2017. Pulled off some decent saves too.
  15. I can probably see where you are coming from but then again we have taken a lot of points from teams in and around the top 6 and then failed to turn up against teams like Rotherham. We need more consistency in the defensive areas to push us up there.
  16. I'd love Fraser Forster, well out of favour at Southampton but probably on big money. I have a feeling this is one he might get from the continent.
  17. I think that's a bit harsh, got some good young players coming through, Rothwell, Dack and Lenihan are 3 decent players for us, I also think the same for Arma. There's a lot of crap, no arguments there but there some reason for optimism.
  18. Surely there comes a point where you just wash your hands of it? Give the lad and silly bollocks agent a final offer that they can either take or swivel. If he signs it will be with a bitter taste the greedy prick.
  19. He isn't good enough, else he'd be in the Championship. Sounds like a prick, f*ck him. I hope Waggot laughed and ended their interest then and there. Otherwise, give him a take it or leave it offer that will only last so long before we move on.
  20. I'd tell Bauer and his agent to jogg on. The player will be fully aware of what his agent is asking. Judging by the players words and actions he strikes me as someone believing his own hype... You're a league 1 defender pal, you should expect to be on the some of the lowest wages here.
  21. I admire TM's passion, quite enjoyable to watch that video but it does bring me back to his simplified way of thinking about football. We've conceded a lot of goals not just due to the defence but because of our general style of play, mananger not knowing his best 11, lack of identity, lack of intensity, game management, lack of fouls higher up the pitch and not keeping possession for crucial periods in the game. If you don't have a team or the players to retain poession, then the ball will keep coming back at you and no matter what defenders you have, it's going to be very difficult to defend against. Tony is a good man, I want to see good men do well in football, especially at my own club, I just hope he see's these things too.
  22. Is this something you've heard or are you just speculating? Bauer is a given really, our interested in him has been well documented.
  23. Crap source, any truth in it? Can imagine lots of players like this coming for trials. https://the72.co.uk/129570/blackburn-rovers-bring-non-league-attacking-prodigy-in-on-trial/
  24. Plenty that would do a job in the European market that wouldn't cost the earth. Santa Cruz and Mccarthy were both good ones as an example. Sensible investment I've always found to be one of the things Rovers used to do well. Brereton went against that, I hope Mowbray has learned a valuable lesson there.
