Looked on target. Typically they show Jobe Bellingham smash one well over the bar because of his 2nd name but leave our a much more threatening goal scoring effort. -

Just watched the extended highlights. I was sat in the Jack Walker so didn't have a good view but... Didn't Gueye have a low shot late on that was going in that a Sunderland player threw himself in front of? Keeper didn't look like he was moving. -

Dare I say it, I think it's Cantwell who needs to pull his socks up a bit and start chipping in with goals and assists... I think he gets a lot of leeway because he's tidy on the ball and shows flashes of brilliance, I really like him but as a number 10 he needs to start getting involved in getting a few more goals and assists. I thought he really let himself down in the 2nd half, went missing and was part of the problem why we got overrun. -

Really? Stats show he's 3rd in assists in the league, another good knockdown to rescue us a point and came on against Wednesday to win us 3 points... Not having a go at you here but seeing the stick he gets and the hearing the stick he got today is starting to wear a bit thin. We paid 1.5 million for him which in the grand scheme of things is absolutely peanuts in today's market. 3 goals and 6 assists in all competitions isn't a bad return at all. The guy wins headers, feeds off scraps and somehow manages to win us a points here and there without starting regularly. Granted it took him too long to get off the mark but because of that, a few misses and his awkward style, seems to be an easy target to be made a scapegoat. We would be far worse off in the table without the big man. He's not even played half a season folks, don't be so keen to write him off and give him time... The big man is a problem for teams in this league! -

I know it's a message board to discuss and debate Rovers but it's mad how some fans always seem to be looking for a scapegoat and just can't be fair in their assessments. I know we all see different positives and negatives but there always seems a keenness to write players off. I did it with Szmodics and have sworn not to do it again. Was another gritty performance from us today that I'm really proud of. Great first half but predictably didn't manage the game with them kicking towards their own end. I thought Beck didn't get anywhere near tight enough for their 2 goals but was absolutely brilliant going forwards in the last 10 minutes. Under previous managers we would have folded but again we come away with a point, this man has us fighting. I thought the midfield and full backs let the centre halves down in the 2nd half, despite conceding 2 goals, I thought they were really good again. I thought Cantwell was anonymous in the 2nd half and needed subbing earlier. I also think Gueye is a bit harshly treated, he mixes it up and creates problems and in wins his fair share of headers with not much support around him. We threw him on but then didn't have anyone trying to get 2nd balls off him. Once we banged a ball up to him, he won it and Cantwell was almost at centre half! We need to play to his strengths if you want him to be his most effective. Really chuffed that all of our forwards are starting to get goals in recent weeks because it will create a belief that whoever is up there is now capable of getting something for us. Everyone needs to start putting some credit on Ainsley Pears name, he's been brilliant this season and he was again today, claimed crosses and punched corners but a great bit of goal keeping at the end to get us a point. Give criticism when it's due but please also give credit when it's due. Just to add... My niece was a mascot today, the players, manager and the club where brilliant. Todd Cantwell was an hour late though! Tough game but a great point. Focus on the positives. Love big John Eustace! -
I'm not saying it's a move I'd be happy with but I could definitely see it being a move that suits all parties... Surely Sheff United would want him back though? Seemed to do well for them, 6 goals in 14 games. Have much deeper pockets than us.
-
Hill & Barry certainly not out of the question, would be great additions. If that were to happen I'd be asking Stockport if they fancy Leanord on loan.
-
Course you can, I suppose what I'm getting at is it will be hard without a decent budget, you don't want to end up with players for the sake of it that don't improve us... Sapping up resources. On Aasgard, looked very good for Wigan against Bolton.
-
There's something about Oli Mcburnie that would suit us down to the ground IMO. An absolute bastard to play against like most of our team. A simple, effective, yet unfashionable player... Again... Like most of our team.
-
Struggling to see how we improve this 11 AT THE MOMENT. With Gueye finding his feet (he's so difficult to play against) and ACD showing us the directness and pace we've been lacking... It's hard to see how anyone coming in displaces anyone in the today's 11, an 11 that didn't have Cantwell in it aswell. We don't have much CB cover, so James Hill as we've all said would do nicely but as for a forward... I just don't see who you can get in January that can come in for a sensible fee but one that I've mentioned on here before that might be doable... Oli Mcburnie. Aasgard just seems another attacking mid which we've already got plenty. Perhaps when/if the results turn we may see some glaring weaknesses in the team but right now there simply isn't many besides some depth.

My main disappointment was the fans leaving as soon as the final whistle left. I was in the Riverside and was really pissed off at everyone not staying to clap the players and management. We've just won 6 in a row. Absolute disgrace. -

So here he is... Big John Eustace! Everybody's having fun Look to the future now It's only just begun -
Didn't realise Peterborough were struggling so much. With us in the playoffs currently, them not playing for much and Poku's contract running down... Perhaps there's a chance. Mothersille also a tidy player for them.

Absolutely buzzing for big Mak and everyone at the club. I've given Hyam a lot of shit but it's only fair he gets credit when it's due, he and Batth have been unreal. Great leadership and positioning from those 2, taking no chances and just simply doing their job. The thing that I'm enjoying the most is the manner we are winning games. Showing all these other clubs you don't have to be infected by the Guardiola disease of total football and playing out from the back all the time. Do the basics, do them well, win your individual battles, defend as a team, that will take you far in this league. One thing I loved Eustace say in his post match interview when pressed about big expectations... "Focus on the next game". This is all any sensible manager at any level really needs to say. I really like the bloke and his approach to management in the championship I would admire even if he wasn't our manager. We've got a gem. FIFTH -

Would be ecstatic to win this, would really lay down a marker to have a true go at the play offs. Just to keep picking up points though should be the main objective. A draw would be a decent result and I'm somewhat tempted to put that on an acca. -
Still early days and needs a full season under his belt before we make such statements probably. Doing an exceptional job so far though.
-
On Eustace leaving... Let's not forget how he was treated at Brum. He talks very positively about his position here and everyone is on his side. He's a seemingly very realistic and pragmatic guy. He's not going to be leaving for many other clubs in the championship because so many are so similar. Hull potted Rosenior for finishing 7th! It's not a good look to potential new managers. Who in a relatively stable job fighting at the higher end of the table is going to leave for any of the clubs below them? If he was to leave I'm sure he would only want a job at club above or around us in the league and I just don't see that happening.

In a game where everyone is expecting a tough test and perhaps an end to this unRovers like winning streak... I'd like the manager to do the opposite of what we're expecting and just go for it. Love to see ACD get a start and see if he can be a match winner for us. Take the game by the scruff of the neck and get at them. I watched the game against PNE... They're not very good. Just another organised championship side like many of others. PNE bossed them for large periods and we're the better footballing team. We should be looking to do better. -
Should try and sign Poku regardless of injuries for the right price. A player clearly way too good for league 1. If we could manage to sign him and James Hill that would a great window for us.

Surprised to see so many giving a shit about the performance... SIXTH! -
Having had Hedges off them cheap I wouldn't bet against this.

If we can't take Poku from Peterborough, I'd take a look at his team mate Ricky Jade Jones... Easily the quickest footballer in England. Young with potential.

Can't put into words how proud I am of everyone at the club after this past week. To take 2 clean sheets and 6 points from those games is absolutely unreal. Players like Pears and Dolan deserve the credit they're due after quickly getting the criticsm they're sometimes due. John Eustace has created a mentality and work ethic that any football fan would be proud of. We have outworked both Leeds and Boro showing that football isn't always about ability but organisation and work ethic. Absolutely everyone today was 10/10, it was a great feeling to send that lot packing with nothing. Today was summed up by Tronstad throwing himself in front of shots and typical Joe Rothwell busy busy with no end product. A Leeds team with loads of ability and no heart against a team willing to die for 3 points. Hopefully we don't ruin it and keep picking up points in our upcoming games. I don't expect us to keep winning like we are put if we can keep playing the way we are then we're a very difficult side to play against at the moment. 2nd half was absolute torture but the joy and pleasure of walking up the riverside at full time and giving that lot a few salutes to go home with was beautiful. Tears tasted delicious. GO ON BIG JOHN EUSTACE! -

Tough watch but I thought we looked organised out of possession. In spells earlier in the first half I thought we actually looked really good and played some good football. Once the goal went in we got bodies behind the ball and surrendered possession. I'd complain about it if we hadn't won the game but the manager had a game plan and executed it so it's only fair we give credit where it's due. Today wasn't about the performance, it was about getting a result and we did that. I thought Gueye did his usual thing where he started well but drifted out of the game. Cantwell looked threatening and had quality on the ball. Tronstad was his usual busy self, tidy, grafted well, earned his coin. Owen Beck was outstanding and the best player on the pitch, premier league quality. Not exactly hard to work out that he comes back in and we get a clean sheet and 3 points. There's a lot of negativity knocking around, I get it after 2 poor results and the performance not being great but I think we need some perspective. West Brom haven't won in 4 games now and look at all the teams below us that have spent bigger this summer. We're top 6, unbeaten at home, 4 clean sheets in 6 and competing a lot better than everyone expected so far... We're a tough side to beat, there are plenty of positives going unnoticed. A win against West Brom is certainly not out of the question. None of us should be expecting to dominate and play teams off the pitch, we're a team where the manager has to do his best to squeeze results out of and that's what he's doing. That said, I do think our players are capable of better performances and they will come. TOP 6 FOLKS! Enjoy your Saturday night. 👍🏻
