Or, he's saying... "I'm f***ing pissed off at not being backed in January." And so would I be.
-
That’s why we needed players in January. If we take the 9 points away, do we take the same amount from other teams? Apart from the top two, I imagine they would be in the same poo.
-
I can’t see how you can compare Mowbray. The squad is of his making, JDT just has to deal with what he has. Also Mowbray had a more settled Brereton, Rothwell for half a season and a more settled defence. He also had a nightmare second half of the season where we couldn’t score goals. I just see this as a continuation of that. It will be a struggle to know what to do with the current squad. When we attack we leave ourselves open and make mistakes. Midfield is lightweight. And if we attack we don’t score many anyway. I believe if we’d seen a few new players in January we would have seen a more attacking side. I’ll repeat something I’ve said before. Why have we brought in a manager who clearly needs investment, if we aren’t going to invest? I can’t blame the manager for such shoddy forward planning.

They don't have Gallagher and a host of young none or rarely scoring wingers! Also Rotherham (20th), Hull (12th), Reading (13th) and Birmingham (18th).
-
Threw it away in January.
-
It was more a message to those dickheads in the boardroom really.
-
That's what happens when you sign decent cover, when your regular players are misfiring.
-
I think that look is his "getting excited" face.
-
He let Porteous walk right past him against Watford, then Gallagher fouled him which led to their equalizer.
-
Tony will get giddy and think he's Pep at some point. We've been there so many times.

Sadly, we all know the script.

You keep mentioning last season - different circumstances. Can you not see that there's a massive difference between Brereton now and then? Would you give your all, risking injury, if you were off in a few months? Rothwell was the same last season. Speaking of which, it's not only the attack that's ineffective but the midfield, they are terrible. You can blame the manager for that too if you wish, but I've watched games in which the likes of Buckley and Travis have been awful. The manager doesn't make them pass the ball to an invisible man. A big reason why we aren't more of an attacking threat is we have some godawful players thanks to Mowbray. We haven't purchased a striker since 2019, and that was Gallagher. The DOF's answer to that was George Hirst, a man that bad he was replaced with no one. Any team would suffer a goal drought. Any team would suffer from being unsupported by the board too. Any team, any manager. So in summary, we have Gallagher who has always been poor, and Brereton who is on his way out. That's two passengers upfront. Then in midfield we have a choice of Morton, who is a defensive liability, Buckley who is out of form, and Travis who is the best of a bad bunch. We've no strength on the bench, and you still think it's a tactical issue?!

Brereton isn't playing at the moment, end of. He's pulling out of challenges and giving up the ball easily. So a bit unfair to compare the two managers, considering Brereton was giving it 100% for Mowbray. I don't think you fully comprehend how bad our goalscorers are. You seem to think if we have more chances they'll suddenly because decent goalscorers. I've seen Brereton and Gallagher fluff decent chances recently. So if your goalscorers are so bad, you have to protect the ball going in the other end. We seem to be building from the back, and if only for some nonsense behind the scenes we may have brought in a midfielder and striker in Jan.
-
Such an odd take, he was one of the better players on the pitch against one of the better Championship sides, away. Brereton and Buckley were passengers in comparison.
-
So you'd drop him because of his Wigan performance? We've had a game since then and when he went off, the team noticeably suffered.
-
You didn’t expect that anyway?
-
I thought he set the team up well. It was just when he brought Gallagher on, the gameplan seemed to suffer. We have an unbalanced first team, with a weak attack and central midfield - and a second team that's almost entirely utter gash. I hope they can keep him and we have a decent Summer of signings to make up for the shitshow of January. And yes I know how stupidly optimistic that sounds.
-
In his last two matches there's been occasions where he hasn't challenged for the ball, or given the ball up under pressure easily. Just an observation but he does seem as if the physical side of his game is suffering for whatever reason.
-
Good post, BBD hasn't been dropped yet because there isn't much choice and JDT will be thinking he may produce a moment of quality. Personally I think he's already gone.

I didn't start it. But... It's on here, I'm not reading it on Burnley Mad or Barmy Turf or whatever. The thought of joining a rivals forum doesn't compute. The only time I ever look at them is if someone else mentions that we've been mentioned. The thought of us winning at home, and during the game going to a Burnley forum doesn't even cross my mind. The closest thing I've got to that is (in same league) cheering when Burnley are losing when the scores were read out at half time.
-
The reports suggest it's 7m euros rising to 9m on promotion. Sounds like you've bought him for PL potential.
-
Living in their heads 24/7. When we were Champions of England, I never once looked at how Burnley were doing. When the season ended I saw a small headline in the paper. It was at the bottom of the page under the main story of Alan Shearer winning the golden boot, oh they got relegated to Division 3. Meh. When they got relegated last season, I didn't go on their forums, tbh I couldn't have cared less. I guess I don't need to with so many of the c***s on here.
-
It was the way that Brereton didn't put a challenge in that frustrated me. Literally walked past him with the ball.
-
Stupid sums up his entire performance. That wasn't the worst of it. I'd like to see the bizarre moment where he managed to deflect the ball away from the opponents net, to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me.
