  1. Typical Rovers, thinking they'd won the match and having a nap. You could see it in the body language a moment before.
  2. Is it me or is Morton a liability? Losing the ball which causes chaos amongst the defence leading to Birmingham pressure.
  3. If you read between the lines it'll be the same as last Summers.
  4. By this point I'm certain that what Tomasson wants and what he gets are entirely different things.
  5. This is all unsurprising, Broughton said that we wouldn't be doing much business in January months ago. He's sticking to his plan.
  6. If we are skint they should be straight and not tell us we have a healthy transfer budget. And they shouldn't be losing decent money on the likes of Rothwell, Lenihan and Brereton.
  7. I remember Blake playing for Bolton and thinking I'm glad we don't have him. He was slowly jogging around the pitch not getting involved. The ball came across for him and he put no effort in to get to it. Then as his team mates all ran back into position he just strolled back. Then we signed him 🤦‍♂️
  8. Whartons a good player but he’s struggled after his injury. Some are a bit unfair about him, he was brilliant last season. Our defeats coincided with him being out.
  9. There's always new rules and clubs still struggle. No amount of rules will stop bad owners ruining football clubs, it'll just create more boundaries and penalties for problematic clubs. Strict rules need to be enforced when clubs are purchased. Keep the dickheads out, you'll get better ran clubs and you won't need all these limitations.
  10. For some context, Verona are third from bottom and Inter Milan are third from top. Comparing them to Boro getting beat and so not going above us, is pretty baffling. I get we're shit, we're skint, we'll always be shit and skint, and the fanbase are confused that we're somehow at the top end of the table, but for me having the club in fourth place after a decade of misery is pretty bloody good to me.
  11. But it has had an effect on us. And come the end of the season, the less points in it the better. Tell you what J*B just close the site because talking about Blackburn Rovers as a competitive football club is pretty crazy as is well established now. And you run the place 😉
  12. Are you still going on about a game you admitted you didn't watch? Vale was awful yesterday. As awful as Gallagher was in the match previously and was deservedly dropped. The worst set of forwards since Ward and Blake.
  13. I expect Watford to win that one but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world.
  14. Good result for us.
  15. He certainly wasn't first choice. £1.8m plus add-ons was massively overpriced for a team without a pot to piss in and a lad whose game just seems to be running his socks off down blind alleys and produces the odd goal. He struggles to pass the ball so why he was picked to be part of Tomasson's journey I don't know.
  16. If Porteous goes to Watford over Rovers then that's a big statement about the quality of players who Gregg and co can bring in, and how we've fallen as a club. If the club really wanted him they'd have gone and got him. They won't pay the money and we'll end up rushing to sign a shit alternative on the cheap. Then everyone will blame the manager for losing/drawing/talking about projects. Same happened in the Summer. Ended up with Hirst, Szmodics and Mola when I'd imagine our first choice was a much higher calibre of player.
  17. Rovers have been inconsistent since they returned to the Championship so it's nothing new. Let's be honest, Mowbray created and maintained a team of bottlers. He used to talk about them like they were babies. A big reason for not being able to get back into games is the lack of goals. It must be disheartening for players to start games knowing that the likes of Vale and Gallagher are up front. Then you go a goal down and it's twice as difficult. Not surprising that heads drop.
  18. I'll never forget when we played them in the Charity Shield as champions - Hendry and Berg were injured so the defence didn't look great and Sutton was at CB. We ended up getting beat 1-0 and Everton won the shield. The last time Everton lifted a trophy. On the way back our bus driver took a wrong turn and took us to a services filled with Everton fans. What a nasty bunch, you wouldn't think they'd just won. All had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp. Swearing at us, unprovoked, as we were buying food. I saw people being shoved. And that was just the women and children. I remember a woman with two angry little kids swearing at us as I was picking my items off the counter. I found it hilarious how tribal they were. Imagine if they'd lost! It must be living in Liverpool's shadow for so long that's sent them bitter and twisted. Always been an odd bunch.
  19. Based on what I've seen before JDT arrived, a lot of players don't feel that next weeks match is important anyway. If I know it, then he will by now. I can only imagine JDT walked through the door, had a cursory glance at what he had to work with and thought, there's no way I can work with this lot right now, I don't want the fans thinking I'm a magician. So hence the "project" was born. And if everyone's honest with themselves, before the season started they felt exactly the same. I expected mid table at best with those players. Too many bottlers, passengers and kids. The big problem with the "project", and something that Waggott should have made them aware of before they started making it public, is that we've had years of Tony Mowbray talking about journeys. It's frustrating to now be back to square one, but we all knew it at the end of last season before JDT arrived. I've found JDT to be frustrating at times, but I've also seen some signs that with better players we could have a decent team. It's difficult to judge him with this squad, as I've seen them frustrate and disappoint a long time before JDT turned up. Weird that we've brought in a manager that wants to play a certain way but don't have the budget to support it though.
  20. He had some brilliant players but his army of referees were something else.
  21. No one wanted Dyche at the time but Burnley. Who knew? I imagine you didn’t. Also Kompany. We’ve seen many young managers fail in this league. It’s not like you appointed someone who had a history like Farke. Every appointment is a risk but I think you’ve had a good run since Laws.
  22. Fergie would have walked the moment Greg Broughton said "here's your number 9, George Hirst." There's a handful of players that are good enough, a few that are decent and the rest shouldn't be playing in this league, or be bench warmers at best.
  23. I blame Morton over Kaminski. That shot should have never happened. It sums our players up. He does good work for our goal but then switches off at a crucial moment.
  24. You're right. Going off goals in all competitions, they actually do it better.
  25. That's not true for this season. He's on equal goals with Dolan, Szmodics and after today's goal, Dack. I fully expect Dack to score more goals than him this season if he can stay fit.
