  1. I'm not the one forgetting anything, we lost 7-0 days ago. Any manager would feel pressure after that.
  2. Good win but nothing will change, anything could happen against Bristol. I'd usually be ecstatic to get in the play off zone but been bitten too many times.
  3. Just proves that whenever Mowbray is feeling the pressure he stops pissing about and gets a result. Be great if we had owners who put him under the kind of pressure a football manager would normally have.
  4. That's got to be the blandest team I've ever seen turn out for Rovers.
  5. Mowbray has always treated Rovers like a football management sim.
  6. Yes apparently so but I doubt that was ever relayed back to the owners. At the time I knew a few people in the know and it was shocking how the club was being ran. The fact that the chairman was having to write to the owners and ask what was going on says it all.
  7. We've got a decent defender alongside Lenihan at last, if Wharton is match fit. If he is it's like a new signing. At least there's that. But then he throws Poveda in there for no apparent reason.
  8. Did anyone else burst into spontaneous hysterical laughter when they saw Poveda's name?
  9. Yeah I got it wrong it's 19. But look at Aldershot. He went there in 2012 after Rovers, 7 appearances. Then they took him back in 2019, 4 appearances. Bit spooky that one.
  10. I think the only interference right now is that they don't want to give him a lot of money to spend and they are seeing out his contract. I'm guessing that they feel they gave him a lot of money to spend, and along with his own weighty pay pack the return hasn't justified it. But I'll never know what Venky's penchant is for failed managers so you may be right.
  11. Shhh, we may have a manager vacancy soon don't give them ideas.
  12. 20 clubs he's been at. All those signing on fees. Tells you everything.
  13. You said you were convinced someone else was calling the shots and there was a cryptic message that we'd get more of the same if he left. I take that as he's saying don't blame me. I don't think it's that complicated as he's got a history of doing just as poorly at other clubs.
  14. Yes but then you remember that Mowbray has been shit at pretty much every club he's managed. Same mistakes, weird formations, playing players out of position, scattershot transfer policy.
  15. I don't think that's what the spivs had in mind. I think it was more bring in the foreign unproven kids on our books and then make a whacking great signing on fee from it.
  16. Here you go. Speed it on to 1:06:05.
  17. I can't see it, Salgado was an Allardyce/Williams signing and 34 (I think) at the time. Venkys said themselves they were looking to buy young and "lease" players. That was obviously put into their heads by some spiv advisor. So I can see why they would come to the conclusion that they wouldn't want to throw money away on ageing superstars. I can't see why they wouldn't want to extend the contracts of some of our players now who they'll be able to sell on for a decent fee. It doesn't make sense even for them.
  18. Exactly this. His forward planning, if you can call it that, is impacting us now. Some of us said it at the time and were shot down. That lack of depth in the squad right now is on Mowbray. Did he seriously expect Venkys to throw millions at him every year for his slow burn of a journey and the death spirals and major cock ups that accompanied it? He must have been around long enough to know that the taps would eventually be turned off. Instead when we needed to build from the back he was throwing millions at gambles. Why buy Sam Gallagher for £5m when we've had serious weaknesses at the back for the best part of a decade?
  19. Then it all goes wrong and swallows a bunch of players on live tv.
  20. The club should care that he liked it. It’s just unprofessional and needless. Personally I couldn’t care less but it’s not good for PR.
  21. The only time Mowbray shows any passion or vigour is when he's up against it. I honestly don't think he's got the drive to do anything beyond mediocrity unless he feels he has something to prove. And why would he, he's no incentives to do anything other than turn up.
  22. “I’ve said that before, I don’t say that trying to be clever, I just can’t understand why people wouldn’t support their club, why they want to be negative about anything? “Come along, have your opinion, if you think the team aren’t working hard enough, or they haven’t got enough skill, whatever it might be, the manager makes terrible substitutions, have an opinion, no problem, but still support your team.” Even his soundbites are inconsistent.
