  1. On a small budget with no decent strikers, after the CEO allowed several players to leave for nothing. Then this rapidly declining season coincides with the owners turning their collective backs on the team whilst telling the inept CEO to sell and save. I know who to blame.
  2. Travis got dropped last year for being abysmal. As a result he asked to be transferred and at the time most would have said good riddance. If you think Travis is the answer you must have missed this.
  3. Before match. "We won't get anything from this match. Venkys out." 45 minutes later. "Sack the manager." I knew I shouldn't have logged in.
  4. I liked the 3 points, even if the football wasn't so great. I was sat in the Jack Walker upper after the 2-1 win over WBA last season and I was surprised when the final whistle blew and I could hear people grumbling around me. As I was walking down the steps there was a bloke saying what a negative manager he was with everyone around him in agreement. Some didn't stop grumbling all season.
  5. I remember a lot of people moaning about it on here. A lot of which are moaning about the tippy tappy now.
  6. The bit in bold, if we could have that every week that would be perfect 👍
  7. And you win leagues by having both. Not disagreeing with you though. I've wanted us to sign a decent striker since Armstrong left and Sammie can't keep propping the team up.
  8. The club sounds completely dyfunctional, Waggott doing one thing, Babu and Desai doing another. Broughton and JDT trying to work with what they've got. No money going in and no one doing their jobs particularly well. Why they don't put it up for sale I'll never understand. It must be a chore to continue doing something you have no real interest in for no return. No passion, no fire, no chance. If confirmation was ever needed that the club is ran by idiots, here we are. Mr Desai was the one hit by a snowball. Maybe this continued nonsense is his way of doling out punishment. It'd explain a lot.
  9. Probably because this is happening now. All of those other things were brought up when they happened.
  10. Travis, Buckley, Carter, A Wharton and Phillips, along with Kaminski, Dack and Ayala were wanted out before the end of last season. Basically anyone who could get some money into the club, or on decent wages.
  11. I don't believe it does, with a 5-2 final scoreline it objectively does. I understand the frustration. When the second goal went in I was pissed off but perspective needed, there was a long way to go in the game and Cambridge are a poor L1 team. I wasn't going to slate Pickering and Wahlstedt (I felt like it!) as with a proper chairmen and owners they wouldn't be in the first team, they are what they are. I'm also not going to slate the manager or coaches because they aren't working in ideal circumstances. It's clear we're struggling with a defense that has been neglected for a long time and having keeper troubles, and of course morale must be low. The ones who should be getting any grief is Venkys and their Ewood mouthpiece. Venkys out.
  12. Still knee jerk to be slating everyone at Ewood 6 minutes in against a L1 side. Doesn’t the result prove that? As I said with certain players in the team it’s expected to have a terrible defence at any level. Since Mowbray post L1 we’ve neglected the defence year after year.
  13. Some knee jerk reactions on here early on, blimey. Pickering poor and with Wahlstedt in goal we’re always going to concede. Thank goodness for SS! Disappointed Gilsenan didn’t get a chance. Hope he’s not injured.
  14. Not sure about Chrisene but the Coventry fans say the other lad is technically gifted but too light weight for the Championship. If that’s true we’re just taking anyone available that’s cheap enough. We’ve got enough players unsuited to the Championship.
  15. He's on the bench every match. I imagine if JDT and Remy go, he'll be caretaker.
  16. It's not just experience, it's also injuries and poor players. Currently we have a poor defence. With a fit Hyam and JRC we'd be doing better but would still have frailties. It'd be easier to carry some of the poorer players if there was more quality alongside them. If we'd have added Danny Baath and decent fullback we'd have actually had a good defence for the first time in a while. And of course a decent goalie, we'd be 2 points better of after today's match if we had.
  17. In contrast we may be buying a 20 year old CB along with a 20 year old full back on loan. I imagine we'll be signing a 20 year old striking sensation from some foreign second tier as well. And all these 20 year olds will keep making mistakes till we're in the third tier.
  18. I think the only one they've ever really sacked was Bowyer.
  19. Exactly. Madame Desai said after Allardyce's sacking. “We want good football and Blackburn to be fourth or fifth in the league or even better. The fans should trust us because this is in the best interests of the club.”
  20. Whilst I agree the defending should be better we should have been out of sight by the time they scored. And it's not the first game we would have benefitted from a striker being on the pitch. Also an older player, like a Danny Graham type holding up the ball would take a lot of pressure off the defence and make a big difference. Going back to the defending, I've never been convinced by Pickering and I don't think Brittain is a very good full back. Add to that the inexperience of Hill and Carter and a goalie that throws one in at least one per game and conceding two isn't surprising.
  21. Unfair to say as apart from the first transfer window he's had nothing much to spend. In that he brought us Szmodics and Hyam. Beyond that Tronstadt looks a good Championship midfielder and Siggy contributes goals. As I've said before, Wahlstedt is a massive clanger. You'd expect there to be better keepers about. We seem to have added another keeper who is a total liability and today despite everything we've lost another 2 points as a result. If it was up to me I'd do away with DOF model altogether, I've never liked it since Kenny and Harford. I like a manager to bring in the players he wants and to have an assistant who facilitates it. No excuses then.
  22. To whoever was defending Venkys on this thread (site crashes if I try to click on quotes so I can't reply). Fair enough if Venkys want to cut our cloth accordingly. They are pumping money in but have FFP and whatever their issue with the Indian government is. It sounds like excuses to me but I'll suspend my disbelief for arguments sake. However if they wanted to do it efficiently and sensibly why have Steve Waggott as our CEO who has made terrible decision after terrible decision in his time here? A man who hasn't prepped for the lack of money and instead allowed the appointment of staff more suited to a team vying for promotion? Because they are terrible terrible owners and it's always been the case. Venkys out.
  23. I didn't think we were gung ho today yet still conceded two. Which is why I don't think a change in tactics would alter anything. He is the wrong manager for the wrong job. When Mowbray left we should have been planning for this and recruiting management and players accordingly. Instead we brought a bloke in, told him the objective was to build a team with a view to promotion, and told him we had to play pretty football. Ludicrous.
