  1. I'm so glad I missed this, as it is I'm only moderately pissed off.
  2. And I've just read he's a winger not a striker. So we'll definitely be playing him as a striker.
  3. Why the flip do we want Ryan Hedges? 30 goals in a decade. I appreciate it's not all about goals but come on. Is he a superstar at providing assists?
  4. Be nice if a few clubs with money did.
  5. Edun for me too, and he's a decent midfielder but I'd like to see him at left back against better opposition before making judgement on his defensive qualities.
  6. He'll be the false 9 that TM is dreaming about.
  7. He was alright, now he just needs to improve his passing, shooting, heading and ball control.
  8. Poveda isn't good enough, Clarkson too young. They both may improve but in the limited time we have them I doubt they'll suddenly become decent championship players here.
  9. I’m fully expecting TM to try and defend for 90 minutes. It’ll be as simple as that.
  10. Ugh, otherwise known as the Callum Davidson years. No wonder we went down.
  11. I don't think I'll ever "get" either of those signings. And I remember Nathan Blake being up front with Ward. Another one I'd rather forget.
  12. Had we been playing Manchester United and not bottom of the barrel Derby I'd have wholeheartedly agreed with Mowbray parking the bus.
  13. It's only inaccurate if it hasn't happened already, and it has more than once. Playing bottom club so yes as better team would have taken advantage as they already have. And of course he told them to park the bus, are you really that naive? It was as clear as day that we had 9 players very deep for almost the entire half. There's no way that all of those players decided to all at once alter their play, what are they psychic?
  14. I'd say it's pointless if he delivers in the first half only to change the team completely in the second half putting the team under the kosh. If a player scores two goals but then follows that up with three own goals would they get roundly praised for those two goals or roundly panned? I think a lot of fans have seen too many own goals from Mowbray to have much faith going forward. My bias is that I've been watching Mowbray's Rovers for years now and for me any success he has seem to be tainted by the feeling that it's more luck than judgement and we're only one step away from a cock up.
  15. I don't believe we looked fine at all in the second half. We were clearly inviting them to pressure us with the gameplan of just soaking it up. A defence lacking two key players. There was no way that all 10 of our outfield players went... "Let's stop attacking." It was clearly motivated by the manager and had that shot that hit the post been one inch to the other side, we'd have all been lamenting another 2 points lost. A better team would have took us to the cleaners. He's not going to abandon this, he's got previous. So we either get better at defending and soaking up pressure or we'll continue to drop points.
  16. He reminds me of Ashley Ward. A big lad, wasteful, doesn't seem to contribute much generally and chips in with a goal now and again. And we spent an obscene amount of money for them.
  17. I'm more anxious for Wharton to return. He looked like a defensive rock before his injury.
  18. Only just! We had luck on our side today, and the post. It's great that we managed to batter Derby in the first half but a pointless effort if Mowbray influences the team negatively to such a degree that we are in danger of losing either the lead or the game. If it was a one off I could let it go but it seems like a worrying tactic he's holding on to despite it's obvious failings, much like his possession nonsense.
  19. You'd think even an idiot would know that the team can't defend for any length of time without conceding. It's like he has a memory problem.
  20. I assume you didn't watch beyond the first half. I'm talking about the second half. For most of it we had 9 players defending and only Brereton as an outlet. Yes Derby reacted. They reacted to us staying in our own half (box) for almost the majority of the second half, with no way of clearing the ball any further than the half way line because we only had one player there. And on some occasions even Brereton was back. We were playing the bottom of the league, were playing well and Mowbray directed the team to park the bus for the entire second half. Unfathomable.
  21. I hope the loan terms allows us to send them back in January. Keep Van Hecke.
  22. We need rid of Poveda and Clarkson in January. Bring some handy players in for an attack on those play off places.
  23. Mitrovic is going to love it if Tony decides on a formation of 0-1-9 again.
  24. Frustrating that Huddersfield and Blackpool got late goals but can't argue with 3 points. I can with the daft decision to park the bus for an entire half though.
