Blackburn v Doncaster, FA Cup, Sat 9th Jan

Brereton shouldn't be anywhere near that team next match starting or bench, but of course everyone knows he'll be a starter. Huffed and puffed all match, passed it to imaginary friends, couldn't shoot for shite. Money well spent Tony. -

My Dad contacted me excited to say he'd finally managed to sign in, then the goal went in. -

We aren't talking about him jumping higher than you, we're talking about him jumping higher than opposition players in a defensive capacity. Though I'd still put my money on you winning that contest. -

About 5cm, watch him during corners. Smaller players beat him all the time and not just due to timing. He barely gets off the ground. Either he needs to lose some weight or work on his leg muscles. -

I'm going to be the one to say it but Douglas wasn't bad today. -

It said top of the big chance missed category, which I took as meaning he was in a good position to score, not every miss he's made. I'm not sure how you can disagree with him scoring over half of his "big chances". He's joint top scorer of the league. I'd say our problems are in other areas of the pitch. -
Happy new year all and to the backroom staff, thanks for keeping the site going. It's not an easy task.

He gets into a lot of good goalscoring positions and scores well over half of them? -

I've just seen the line up. Mowbray must love a good hiding. How has Gallagher earned himself a regular place? -

Well... Let's see what misery they dish up today. -
He could get away with playing players out of position and ropey subs in L1. Had a very good player in Dack at the heart of the team which papered over a lot of cracks, the defence was problematic back then.
-
Fighting against relegation in the Premier League would mean wiping out a lot of debt the club currently has. I thought that was the pressing concern, or has that problem gone away? (genuinely asking as a lot of people don't seem to be overly troubled by this any more)

He's been better but I expect a lot more from a player we bet the family silver on. This year he's been a nuisance which has helped out players gain some space, but we could have paid a lot less for someone to do that role. For me a decent centre half would have been preferable at the time. If Mowbray wanted a winger he should have bought a winger. With the money that he spent on the Brereton project he probably could have bought both. But I'm not blaming any one player for the shambles on the pitch this evening, I'm not sure if any of them knew what their actual role was.
-
The players have looked very disorganised for the past few games, defence a shambles. Playing midfielders in defence. Strikers on the wing. Signings have all but one not improved the team, some have actually made us worse. Two of them cost a combined £12m. It looks as if the players have stopped playing for him. Mowbray has to go now.

Out of his ear it looks like.

More of the same old dross isn't it.

Why do we get into crossing positions then pass back to the halfway line?
