Millwall away Saturday 12th Jan kick off 17.30

Excellent movement from him to get into that position though. Could it be that he didn't have as much work to do and had more space when he wasn't being played as the solitary striker. How do they play him in the under 23's? -

Bit sad to troll your fellow fans when there's much more to celebrate but different strokes for different folks I suppose. As for the game, wasn't a classic but was it ever going to be against Millwall? Hope Mowbray has learned a bit more about his players after this. -

If we're to crack on we should really be replacing players like Smallwood. Good worker but shouldn't be a first teamer in the Championship.

Very annoying it's not on iFollow.

Haha, Katie's at it again. Don't worry he thinks anyone who disagrees with him is obsessed.

If it could reach £7m then we must have shelled out quite a bit to start off with. It's all stupid, imagine if he gets to the point of triggering one of the clauses costing the club a few million. Will Venkys tell Mowbray to drop him? I remember people saying it was stupid when we signed Rhodes for all that money but at least he looked the part and played in the team from day 1, he also had a very good track record in League 1.
-
For me it's not even about his ability, it's just a very silly gamble to take with all that money when we're in debt and need players in other positions. And if it is a "project" that makes it even worse.
-
So it really is as simple as saying we could have signed 3 experienced championship players.
-
I think you've cracked what Mowbray was thinking... "It's unlikely I'll sign three proven Championship players for 5 million so I'll spend 7 million on an unproven one."
-
It won't go away until the club issues a statement, it's such a bizarre signing it's going to cause speculation. Silly signing in my opinion, spending that much on one player shouldn't have been on the agenda for this season. Could have gone towards two or three players with plenty of experience in this league.

So has he signed yet or not? If not can we send him back and have some sensible signings?
-
Would you really want to tarnish those memories?

Sheffield United vs Blackburn Rovers: 29th December 2018

Mowbray keeps playing him. His biggest error was pledging a crazy amount of money on a 19 year old unknown instead of sorting out the defending. -

Well he will keep rewarding players like Smallwood who continually make mistakes. -

And perhaps if that money had been invested more wisely we'd have had a team more capable of keeping clean sheets. The issue of the signing of Brereton is more than just his quality on the pitch.
