  1. If Palace are offering Sakyi on loan, plus £18m, plus add ons, I can't see us passing that up. Sakyi would liven up the attack and Broughton will be thinking job done on signing a goalscorer. It won't be as we'll still need a striker with or without. Then 6 months later we'll lose Sakyi and the £18m will have disappeared. Back to square one and without Wharton. The only good thing coming out of A Wharton going would be if we could put it towards a CB, LB, CM, winger and a quality striker (and a goalie if we can manage it).
  2. Didn't Glen M say that snowball victim Mr Desai was pretty much in charge over here now? Every morning he must shake his fist whilst thinking of that cold ice meeting his forehead.
  3. Was covid the excuse for the Adam Armstrong money disappearing?
  4. Oh there's a power struggle alright. You've got Waggot wanting one thing and Broughton/JDT wanting another. Then add Venkys and their underlings to the structure and it's totally dysfunctional. The season was still ongoing when the players discovered the cost cutting/generate cash through player sales. Which makes me think, why wasn't this kept from them? Some of them will have known that no matter how well they played they were being released. Some incentive. Some motivation. I suppose that's why I'm willing to cut JDT some slack more than most. When I see the players playing like they've only just met, I wonder how much of that is the club executives affecting game preparations.
  5. I can see Hodgson wanting to take him under his wing but it's a long way to go when Rovers have been your life since you were 6. Money talks as they say, he could be set for life. Such a shame all ambition has been stripped from BRFC.
  6. I'd be surprised if Carter isn't being touted too. I'm also surprised Gallagher hasn't already gone if anyone's interested, just to get him off the wage bill.
  7. Yes his family go to the games. I was sat next to their Grandma's early on last season. They seemed very nice, very proud and down to Earth. His family live locally so there's plenty of people that know them, and have known them before Adam and Scott got into the first team. And when they were both children. Just a shame club officials are pressuring a young lad who is happy where he is. In normal circumstances he'd have a chance to develop and chase promotion with us. Speaking of which, back when he "allegedly" said he didn't want to leave, promotion was the aim. But that's gone now. I can't see it being Palace though.
  8. Not the same. And I didn't say he wouldn't go. I said he didn't want to go. The sad thing is he's been given a shove from his superiors, and not for the first time.
  9. It wouldn't surprise me. I have it on good authority that they wanted him, "Rovers" (or someone at Rovers) wanted to cash in, and the lad dug his heels in. They wanted to sell him and Ash Phillips at the same time.
  10. If Palace gets close to signing him I reckon a bigger club than Palace will step in. With better coaches he could go to the top but from what I've heard he doesn't want to leave.
  11. Why are you all letting him wind you up? He's just an irrelevant ex-footballer who has won nothing of any note. A complete failure when you look at the opportunities he had, so now he's just bitter and unemployable.
  12. I just took it as a clumsy metaphor but I didn't take it as racist, or the replies. I hope I was right.
  13. For their goal, the attempt at getting to the ball by Gallagher was embarassing. So slow to react and then half hearted when he did.
  14. I remember a lad at primary school singing "Jimmy Quinn, Jimmy Quinn, Jimmy Quinn." (to "here we go") Went home and told my Dad who responded with... "Why's he singing about him? Bloody rubbish."
  15. I was an infant during the Kendall, Smith and Saxton years. I always felt a bit sorry for Mackay, he tried his best then Dalglish swooped in and made Jack Walker's (and our) dreams come true. A lot deny Allardyce was a decent manager for Rovers. He frustrated at times but no one can deny he did well and it's often forgotten that he too was dealing with disinterested owners. Not complete two hats like we have now but it's now obvious they couldn't wait to offload to the nearest set of imbeciles.
  16. Where did I say it was his fault? The point is, he's redundant.
  17. It’s very odd that he seems to get revered like the best of our managers of the last 30 years. Even in L1 he served up some dross with a good squad for that league. Dalglish, Souness, Hughes, Mowbray.
  18. 15th, 11th, 15th, 8th. it was the promotion from L1 that the goodwill comes from. On social media I’m seeing people saying we did better under Mowbray than JDT. When we had two absolutely dire seasons finishing 15th after millions spent. During both of those seasons many fans wanted him sacked.
  19. I can’t see them loaning him, it sounds as if they want to offload him to sign someone better. So they need a fee. The consensus seems to be that he chips in with goals but is a poor player generally. So Gallagher then, younger version.
  20. £4m! Where are all these silly fees for poor little known championship players coming from? After reading this I wouldn’t pay £40k. https://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/mileta-rajovic.60733/#post-3304521
