It’s a lot of money to walk away from so perhaps he’d rather be sacked? He clearly doesn’t know the owners like we do. Or perhaps he thinks it’s only a blip and next season will be different and we’ll be back on with the project. Maybe he’s waiting to see if he gets some luck in January and we actually get some game changers in the squad. He seems an optimistic character but perhaps that’s expecting a bit too much. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was crossing his mind right now.

If true, I imagine he has to put up with enough garbage from the owners, the CEO and Venkys UK delegates. The last thing he’ll want is to also get it from a player he made captain, who immediately repaid him with some awful performances (last season). But I think the most likely reason for Travis going is to make way for a CB on less wages. It wouldn’t surprise me if Gallagher also goes, replaced by a player with an even lesser goal record, and much lesser wage. It’s been the plan since, as far as I know, late last season. Get anyone on a decent deal off the wage bill. Sell any assets. Deal with it as cheaply as possible. And it pissed off staff and players. If anyone caused any turmoil in the dressing room it was Waggott for not being honest about the direction the club was heading (earlier).

It depends how he aired them, and if it’s as nonsensical as what some of the fans are expecting, within a club in obvious turmoil, then it’s hardly surprising he isn’t wanted.

One took us to losing out on the play offs due to goal difference, which would have been a play off spot if the club had brought in even a half decent striker in January, as he requested. The only bloke at the club showing any ambition or interest in improving the club. The other saw £££ signs, brought donuts and the only relegation to the third tier in 30 odd years.

They didn't care then, don't care now.

It was a club decision before Broughton turned up. From the owners. I reckon that's why Mowbray kept trying to play possession football. It's absolutely baffling. They knew the taps would be turned off but then appointed a DOF and told him that the remit was to play good football with a view to a promotion challenge. So he appointed a head coach to do just that. Then they told the DOF he had to make his own money, and the head coach to just deal with it. When what should have happened is they should have planned accordingly, brought in a manager capable of grinding out results and a squad capable of doing so. It's like someone with a split personality is reluctantly running the club.

It's an extreme but at the moment so is BRFC. The club is clearly in turmoil, the taps have been turned off, we're too reliant on kids, have a bizarre transfer policy where we seemingly can't bring in experience, we've no proven strikers to speak of. The CEO has no real power and doesn't seem to want any. Both the head coach and DOF were sold a pup. The DOF is now expected to work with buttons, and when he did have a bit of cash bought us a dud goalie. There's two blokes at the top, Shebby-lites, who haven't a clue about football and are making it up as they go along, or simply saying yes to everything a woman who knows nothing about football says. I don't think there's another manager in Venkys time here that has been given such a shitty hand. And if they are good at anything it's shitty hands.

He doesn't sign anyone. He asks for a decent player in a certain position then he's told he's got to pick barrel scraping 1 or barrel scraping 2. I imagine all he can possibly do is "ip dip" and hope for the best. Or like last January, he asked for a decent striker, got a decent midfielder, then got neither.

He's been a bad player since Mowbray bought him and in every system we've played. He's better going forward and sometimes has a good game where he'll surprise with a good tackle or block. I can imagine he was much better in L1 so if that's where we're heading perhaps we'll need him.

The same Owen Coyle eleven that included Raya, Mulgrew, Lenihan, Conway and Danny Graham.

The defence wasn't great last year, and this year it's a worse squad with a very poor keeper. Like I said we've been able to carry players like Pickering in the past but now we're having to rely on such players to be our senior presence in the team. It's costing us a lot more than it has in the past.

Thanks, sometimes I think I'm on a different planet. I've watched Pickering be awful in most games since he arrived. Brittain sometimes even worse on the opposite side. And then a goalie who is now contributing to conceding two goals a game. We've got away with carrying players in the past, but it's important to add - with little actual success. We were never going to continue getting away with it when the cost cutting is getting worse and worse.

Shit full backs and a shit goalie is the main reason we've conceded the most goals in the league. I'm not sure why it's such a surprise. Pickering has been poor since we bought him (3 years ago was it?), and last season apart from a few spirited early performances, most of this board were unconvinced with Brittain's defensive qualities. Now we've added a bloke in goal who looks like he's won a competition. Combine that with losing JRC who took a lot of pressure from the defence and it's easy to see why we're conceding a lot of goals.

Venkys won't sign that kind of player. They've been interfering in team affairs since the beginning.

I've always thought a defensive unit with Brittain, Carter and Pickering was a poor defensive unit on paper and pitch. At a normal club some of their performances last season would have led to one or two of our fullbacks being offloaded. Brittain has never convinced as a defender and like Pickering is better going forward. I've always thought Pickering is an awful fullback. Carter, like Hyam, is better when he's got someone reliable next to him. Hyam is the best of them but is too quiet to command the area and needs an experienced partner. S Wharton has never been the same since coming back from injury. He was fantastic prior to that, I thought he was going to be the new Colin Hendry. Sadly he now looks nervy and doesn't seem to be able to react quickly enough. I feel sorry for the lad as he's got talent but seems unable to access it at present. Adam Wharton shouldn't be playing every game. Too much too soon. We've conceded the most goals because we have a poor squad. It was unbalanced under Mowbray and now it's been left to rot. We simply can't carry that many misfiring, poor or inexperienced players.
