  1. Gibson has lost similar amounts as the Venkys bankrolling his football club. And kept them marooned in the Championship for 14 of the last 15 years. I'm unsure why he is constantly trotted out as a litmus test for the perfect football club owner. Perhaps because he bailed them out originally and is a fan? Our owners lose 17 million a year. 50k a day! Only player trading keeps us liquid. They wiped 30 million off our turnover and created this mess, but sadly there is no easy fix once you go down. Unless you want to risk your own personal fortune or the financial viability of your football club. As the respected Mr. Gibson will confirm.
  2. Yup. Common sense to me, but many will argue it disadvantages our team with big away followings. But it didn't help Leeds with 7000, or guarantee a win for Sunderland. But Stoke and Hull left with three points. Rovers fans get twitchy with big away followings for some reason I can't work out. I'd drag as many fans in as possible.
  3. Disappointing day, as much for the three points as any rivalry. Was a tad suprised at the starting line up. Easy now with hindsight, but Dolan, ACD and Cantwell are very lightweight and gentle players. It felt like a gamble, but i guess Eustace was desperate for that first goal and thought that was his best option. Unfortunately, none of the four with Gueye score any goals. I had wondered if both JRC and Hedges would start outwide, simply to try and impose ourselves physically. And leave options off the bench. Regardless, it wasn't to be. For me, when all are clearly trying their bollocks off, the biggest disappointment is when fans start highlighting individuals in the blame game. It was Pears, Pickering, Hyam, Hedges and Dolan early in the season. Then Gueye, Ohashi, Hedges, Dolan, mid-season. Now its Gueye, Tronstad, Cantwell, Leonard, Baker, Buckley. And again a little bit of Dolan of course. But we are not in the bottom four. We are in the top eight with a game in hand and have just played three of the top four. This group of players haven't collapsed. All this death spiral nonsense applies to the past not the current group. This lot are mentally strong with big balls and I'm at last proud of the team and really enjoying a football season again. Because all are giving 100% at all times and I cannot ask for any more. They just can't score any fucking goals.
  4. You've just confidently stated that the old model of two key decision makers is out dated. Then confidently stated that Rangnick and Ten Haag could have been a lasting solution to Man United. You should think before you post.
  5. And when he'd already been substituted.
  6. You keep posting about the club lacking a 'structure' in relation to Man United. But then claim one man in Rangnick could have solved all their woes. Truth be told United managed fine under two people in Edwards and Ferguson. Supported by a decent scouting network. We did well for the most under John Williams as long as our manager was first rate. Tiered levels of management are irrelevant when compared to top quality decision makers / operators. Not that i care, but in my opinion Amorim is yet another very poor appointment. Its already going tits up and he looks very lonely to me. Simone is the current stand out international candidate in my view, but the retards at United would rather have Ole at the wheel. Its disgusting that their players behave like they are bigger than the club and someone needs to out a stop to it. Lets hope Liverpool spank them tomorrow.
  7. It's all about recruitment. Mourinho told everyone years ago that the likes of Pogba, Shaw, Martial, Lingard, Rashford, etc weren't fit to wear the shirt. Compare to proper players like Bruce, Ince, Strachan, Robson, Hughes, or Vidic, Berg, Keane, Scholes, Cantona, etc. Some of the latest players they have sourced for massive money is ridiculous. Buy badly, buy twice. It takes years and years to recover if you get it wrong.
  8. Our attack wouldn't score against our defence.
  9. Yes im not niggling just wondering what you are not seeing. A lot of football has been played and we remain top six. Someone deserves some credit.
  10. What's confusing you Rev? He has been named our player of the month the last two. He's constantly breaking up play protecting our centre halves, whilst allowing Travis to flourish. It's no suprise to me that our manager has made him captain. Excellent first touch, retains possession, brilliant positionally, great team player, work ethic and committment. Very professional and a star performer in a top six side.
  11. Job done so far. Much as we expected. Keep the faith. Elsewhere, North End are 3-0 down at West Brom. Hope they get 6.
  12. In the 2022 to 2023 season we lost 17.8 million and had a wage to turnover ratio of 123%. Sales from Wharton and Sammie will negate similar losses for 23 / 24 and 24 / 25. I can only presume they are hoping and praying we somehow magically scrape into the PL so they can try and sell and get some money back. They would struggle to give the club away with such dire income and huge losses.
  13. Teams struggle to score against us. We struggle to score against them. Its called pro-football. I believe in our mental strength and work ethic. I can't see us suddenly collapsing. We are better and tougher than we think. 1-0 to the Rovers.
  14. Its remarkable we've done this well to date with the non-scoring Gueye, Ohashi, Hedges, Dolan, ACD, Cantwell, Leonard, and Weimann. We need to get back to clean sheets ASAP!!
  15. We won six on the bounce. But there was an offside goal, a penalty, a definite own goal, a 50/50 own goal and a lot of near misses at our end in amongst all that. Meanwhile we lost in the 96th minute at Millwall, should have been more than one up against Sunderland and if Cantwell buries that sitter I believe we would have won today. It's very small margins affecting outcomes at this level. Regardless, a lot of football has been played and we remain in the top six. Credit to all for their efforts to date.
  16. Disappointing. It all pivoted on Cantwells miss. Take your chances win your matches.
  17. We are doing ok. Kicking towards the Darwen End. A couple of good moves and half chances. One cleared by a defender with the keeper beaten. This season has proven we are happy at 0-0. No need to panic.
  18. I've seen you post this a few times. Why would you rest Tronstad today fretting about the Leeds game? Which game represents the best possible opportunity to get three points? Exactly. Today. No one in the club is thinking about Leeds. Apart from you.
  19. I wouldn't be suprised to see Hedges, Dolan, Cantwell and Ohashi starting, Pickering, JRC, ACD and Gueye rested. Totally different playing away and hes found a recent way to win. Equally, im happy to trust the manager and I'm loving the selection headaches a winning team and rotating squad brings. If we haven't a clue who will start, what chance Millwall? Millwall 0 - Rovers 1. Anything else just wouldn't be festive.
  20. In 2024 we won 9 and lost 8. Our fourth heaviest loss in history in the last test in New Zealand. This shit or bust strategy is a tad one dimensional for me. Re Crawley. Against New Zealand, Crawley has played 11 matches, 21 innings, high score of 43, runs 219 with an average of 10.42. How is that going under the radar from selectors? In my opinion he is being badly handled. This is a talented shotmaker, but a bit brain dead with little cricketing intelligence, who obviously should be batting at 5 or 6. If he's going to open he should seek advice from Gooch. Play a lot straighter, especially when driving, miss nothing on the leg side and only hook, pull and cut when well set. All this caught at cover, mid off and mid wicket crap needs to stop immediately. If he fails at 5 or 6 ditch him. But having given him 53 tests we are almost forced into trying to rescue him. Ironically, he may get a game against Australia averaging 43.06. But that's because he made 189 in one innings. In the other 14 he's at 32, similar to.his 53 match test record. The openers set the scene and its depressing seeing Root walking out at 4 in the first ten overs. Might as well make him open. At least he'll be able to prepare mentally and avoid rushing to pad up.
  21. Its not a fluke we are in the play offs. It's hard to process, but maybe we are better than we think. At some stage we need to start believing in those that have got us this far. Our keeper especially as he stands alone. To cover for injuries, loss of form and suspensions we actually need another centre half, another central midfielder, another winger, another no 10 and another striker, Which isn't going to happen. Many fans therefore will be flapping. Which illustrates my point. In reality, we dont need just another striker. We need a striker scoring 10 to 12 goals between now and the end of May. But that costs about 10 million and 50k a week.
