  1. There is often a footballer who I admire and wish Rovers had him. I'm not talking about superstars like Messi and Ronaldo but certain ones who come to play at Ewood. Billing is one of them. Gyokeres of Coventry was another. Way back there was the Coventry player, Gary McCallister. It's a bit like seeing a very pretty girl and knowing you have no chance but you can still dream. (For me that was a LONG time ago🤭) Having said that, Millwall once came to Ewood and beat us 2-0. A blonde-haired lad called Taylor ran the show for them. He fell into that category and we later signed him. He was pretty poor for us. So there you go.
  2. Who is this Atcheson? What position does he play? Is he any good?
  3. Rotherham Utd play Sheff Wed this weekend. Ayala and Buckley can reminisce.
  4. Fords were always buggers to start in the winter. Someone said to me, "Buy a Ford. They're cheap and the spare parts are cheap". That was because they weren't made very well and rubbish parts were always failing.
  5. I'd play Scotty in place of Hyam. If he can't do tippy tappy football then he must clear his lines, after all that's what Hill did when closed down. He hoofed it over to the right wing to Brittain who scored a great goal. That "hoof"was celebrated as "a great pass". I hope Benson has taught Leo to catch. I hope Siggy has recovered from whatever it was and is back to his best. I want to see more of Ennis. Cummon Rovers! You can win this one.
  6. His late chance was on target but tipped onto the cross bar by the keeper.
  7. Leo's gaff wasn't bad as people have made out IMO. Maybe he should have used his foot but didn't.
  8. I've just watched the whole game on Rovers TV. I can't get to Ewood these days due to circumstances beyond my control. I must eat humble pie. Dolan, whom I've slagged off many times, had a very good game and is improving. He must keep his place. The whole game was enjoyable. I didn't see the tippy tappy football of last season (when our boys were learning their trade under JDT). This was a good game to watch. We play well. And so do Cardiff who seem to be getting it together under this new manager. Normally I'm quite pessimistic about Rovers but now I think we really are going in the right direction. It's still work in progress but we're getting there.
  9. Captain Hyam (or Travis?) should be marshalling the troops.
  10. Must have been a fluke. He hasn't got a footballing brain
  11. I think Harry Leonard will make a good striker. From what I've seen of him he impresses me far more than Butterworth or Vale ever did. Give him more game time and he'll get better.
  12. Depends when you were born and when you watched football as a youngster. Back in my day No6 was Left Half e.g. Mick McGrath. No5, the centre half, had dropped back in line with the full backs. But yes, when 4-4-2 was the line up it was usually 5 and 6 as centre backs.
