This is an awful game but Im watching it with a danish commentator who calls our players Newtall, Nyambé and Trayvis. This makes it even more awful. -
The only possible reason I can think of is that he haven't been producing in training. If he has been training like he played yesterday he should have been in the team ages ago. If he is not in the squad (at least) for the next game it makes no sense.
-
Lewis Travis did quite well yesterday. Will he be in the squad for the next game?
-
So your point is that we are not very good at producing first team players? With the amount of money we are putting in to the academy we should be getting some outcome of that. Nyambe and Raya have made the step up but we should really be seeing that on a regular basis. Tomlinson, Hardcastle, Wharton, Platt, Travis haven't been able to do so. The question is why is that? Is Mowbray to careful? Is it a mentality problem? Its interesting to look at Hardcastle because he was able to play mens football on a regular basis when he was 16-17. Now he is 20 and can't get any playing time at a level marginally higher than Salford 3 years ago. The example with Leeds is quite interesting because 2 years ago they were a club in turmoil, and now they have the guts/space/stability to rely on multiple youth players.

Would seem so

I trust in TM. When Brereton came in he said we shouldnt rush him. I believe he will become a big player for us. If there was a 19 year old player who could produce immediately he would never come to Rovers for a measely 7 mil. We see it all over the world. Clubs pay big money for talent and hope they eventually come good. Barca paid massively for Dembele and Malcom. Monaco paid massively Pellegri and so on. Of course these are all on a bigger scale but when you go for young players you pay for the talent. They are rarely the finished article and have a lot of developing to do. Physically and mentally.

Someone votes for Reed??? -
At the stadium? ?
-
Tony Mowbray at the Middlesbrough game tonight. Just watching a game at his old club maybe.
-
He has been out injured for ages and is only playing his 2nd game(I think) after that. If we want someone to come in and make a difference from day 1 he isn't the one.
-
Financially we are at a point in the world of football where youngsters just cost a lot of money. In the Danish league you see established players being sold for less than youngsters. Christian Nørgaard of Brøndby who at 24 have played 130 games for a Top 4 team have this summer been sold to Fiorentina in Serie A. That is for a transfer fee that is significantly smaller than 17 old Victor Jensen who have never played adult football or 18 year old Andreas Poulsen with 11 league games. Clubs are just willing to pay over the odds for young talents.

Im not really sure about this apparent loan signing of Harrison Reed. The word is that its a loan without an option. He has previously played at centre mid and right back. Is he coming here to be backup? I cant see his club being a fan of that. For us to loan him without an option and playing him in the first 11 he really should be significantly better than our own players. Im not sure thats the case. The players we have that are able to play CM are: Travis, Smallwood, Rothwell, Davenport, Whittingham, Gladwin, Tomlinson, Evans, Bennett, Rodwell. On RB we have Nyambe and Caddis. Nyambe has been playing very well so hopefully the club are still counting on him as a first choice RB Anyone who know more than me about him? What is the point with his apparent arrival?

Transfer Window - Success or Failure
DanielMB replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think I read somewhere that Mowbray wanted Championship experience. We didn't really get a lot of that so so far Im gonna go with failure. -
TBH Im quite disappointed today. This is mostly based on TMs words about signings. I had been looking forward to today and expected a minimum of 1 signing. That being said its not the end of the world. Hopefully we can get some decent loans in with a view to making them permanent.
-
Funny thing about that George John. He was a monster for FC Dallas and then he was out injured and never really came back. He was loaned out to West Ham at one point. Just guessing here but Im thinking he was too slow.
-
FC Copenhagen is apparently very keen on getting Andreas Bjelland. It is reported that he wants to stay abroad though and play at a higher level than Brentford, so its probably safe to say we won't be signing him.
-
How about that young striker Joel Asoro? Isn't he supposed to be a pretty big talent?
-
Funny info. Former Rovers Academy player Osayamen Osawe scored a hattrick for Kaiserslautern in the 2nd Bundesliga today.
