We’ve done pretty well in this competition and the team deserve to be given a chance to redeem themselves after some shocking performances in the league. A good result could get us back on track.

I suspect JDT is already planning to sell Brereton in January. Why would he take him off at 2-1? Dack too will be gone I guess.

Improving the group by taking unnecessary risks? Other managers have latched onto this and are reaping the rewards while our players flounder with the new style.

Can see JDT walking. Surely he can see that he doesn’t have the players or the resources to implement his “project” Now would be a good time as he can say he left us in 3rd spot.

The crowd showed their displeasure at the performance, the manager and his tactics by leaving the ground at 4-1. This manager’s days are numbered unless he can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Very very poor and not for the first time this season

It’s only a matter of time before we have a system similar to rugby where the clock stops when the ball is not in play. Not scientific but I bet you wouldn't need to set it at more than 70 minutes to get a 90 minute match.

All credit to Burnley (hate to say it). Looked fitter, faster, more up for it and have a manager who knew exactly how to beat us. We lost the match before the start with strange selections by a manager who is expecting too much from average players.

If there has been a bust up between Dack and JDT then both should be man enough to try to resolve their differences. We all know what Dack can do, maybe he can no longer play 90 minutes but hell he’s always going to be a threat on goal. Has a similar situation developed with Markanday? He doesn’t seem to be anywhere near the first team despite being a promising youngster.

Maybe its just a change of manager and has lost some confidence feeling that he is under pressure to perform. We know he has talent so JDT should be getting the best out of him.

Buckley is a big concern. If JDT doesn't fancy him I can understand but we can’t afford to keep such a talented player in the U21’s

Dolan and Szmodics were superb subs today and really put shifts in to keep Boro at bay

You happy with tippy tapping football in our own area? Failure to find our own men with a pass? Lack of any apparent leadership on the pitch? I’m not

There’s not really a recent precedent for something like this so the authorities will not want to go against the establishment who will decide if not holding sporting events in this country over the next few days is appropriate. Unfortunately whether we like it or not will be irrelevant. Hopefully the Watford game will be on

We absolutely need an experienced centre back. If this lad from Liverpool isn’t coming then we must look for a quality defender. Pickering will be OK but we need decent back up. If Brereton goes and we don’t get an adequate replacement then we are definitely snookered.

I have to say I wasn't expecting much from Sheffield but we were comprehensively outplayed, outfought, outmuscled and outscored by a team that will be playing Premier League football next season. Having said that, we needed better than that from the players on the pitch several of whom are not good enough for this level of football. Only Kaminski and Ayala stood between us and a cricket score. The misfield was non exsitent in the first half with Buckley and Travis unable to compete. Wharton is being missed big time but then how long have we had to sign another CB that we knew was needed. Taking nothing away from Philips who will be a good player at a higher level. What a difference a week makes?

Dolan has at least shown that he can be a threat to defences albeit a blunt one. To be fair JDT is giving the squad a chance to show that they can feature long term but the point has surely come where none of the current U23 lads are ready for Championship football. That includes Phillips.

We really shouldn’t be worrying about transfer fees. Thats for the owners to bother about. For me get as many quality players in as quickly as possible and worry about where they are going to play later. Can any of these centre backs play left full back?

Best case scenario if Philips won’t sign a new contract. He sees out his contract this season. Signs for a Premier League club next summer. We get compensation then he is loaned back to us.

We either pay Phillips the going rate or we lose him to a club that will. If I were Phillips I would make my decision based on where he is likely to play first team football over the next 2/3 seasons. He has a much better chance of that at Rovers so we need to make that happen.

Saw some of the Bradford game last night and they looked well organised with Harry Chapman doing what we know he can do. Should be a challenge for some of our younger players
