  1. Another disappointing end to a game that we couldn’t see out following similar ones v Bristol and Sheff Utd but if we approach our remaining games like we did in the second half we still have a good chance of play offs. Looking at the fixtures, our rivals still have to play each other so points will be dropped. The big question is do we have the bottle?
  2. Some late opportunities from the Ukraine conflict. Maybe a striker or two? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60863037
  3. We can only try and get maximum points ourselves. We have no control over the outcome of other matches. Hopefully we will have some of our key players back from injury to boost the squad.
  4. My wife knows next to nothing about football but echoes your comments about Mowbray to a tee.
  5. Top 6 definitely hasn’t gone but it’s going to take a big effort. We can’t afford anything less than 2 points average per game. Yes 14 points may be enough given that teams at the top have to play each other whilst we only play one other. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely shocked and surprised at how we have blown the second half of the season with or without Brereton. IMO opinion the last minute postponement of the Hull game was the start. A game we would have won turned into a defeat when it was replayed. Speculating about Mowbray short or long term won’t make any difference. We know he can put out a winning team and just hope the players are still up for it.
  6. Too difficult to call. We have goalscorers and if we play like we did second half last night we will be in the mix for sure.
  7. It’s incredible that we are still in a play off position considering our recent form. Had we won the games against Bristol C and Sheff Utd we would be in a strong position
  8. To put things in perspective, if we had lost last night we would now be in 9th position
  9. Thanks. There doesn’t seem to be an option on the Rovers website
  10. Does anyone know if this game is available to watch on Rovers Tv in the UK?
  11. Rubbish first half but we got at them in the second and should have scored from the penalty but instead we gifted them a goal at the death. The change to 442 was really what we needed because the 352 clearly wasn’t working. Would like to see this agin with Giles wide left and Khadra wide right. Gallagher and Dack/Dolan up top Dack coming back is a big plus even though he should have been nowhere near taking the penalty. It’s very disappointing to see us failing to score again and conceding a late goal but we are still in with a great chance of the play-offs. The next two games are winnable.
  12. So Rovers with 1 win out of previous 5 matches versus Millwall with 5 wins out of 5. Hopefully we don’t get any snow before kick off!!! This isn’t going to be the easy home match that many are predicting. It will be tough BUT….much will depend on the players available. Lenihan presumably suspended after reaching 10 yellows and Zeefuik injured. Will this mean a change in formation? JRC did enough yesterday to suggest he will play. EDIT only on 9 yellows apparently Rothwell has to start if fit as should Gallagher as we need his height, preferably central. A recall too for Buckley? If Giles plays, it must be on the left surely to link up with Pickering. Should be a decent crowd but not sure how many Millwall fans will relish another trip up north although didn’t I hear they would have free travel?
  13. Sickening result but after a shaky start we took the game to Sheffield who resorted to cheating tactics. They could and should have ended the match with 9 men. The challenge is how do we score goals without Brereton. The failure to sign a striker in January when we were in the driving seat will cost us dearly. Having said that, we are a battling team and we shouldn’t be written off just yet.
  14. Same here from Huddersfield. Don’t fancy the M62 trip
  15. All comes down to a failure to sign quality players in January. We will have to rely on the ones that started the season as the new signings are just average
  16. Not yet seen any reasons given for Nyambe being dropped and the fact that he didn’t replace the injured Zeefuik is puzzling. but then again Mowbray isn’t going to admit spitting his dummy out is he? Pathetic management
  17. Didn’t Groves score 5 when Shrewsbury beat Rovers 7-1 in 1971?
  18. Can’t do worse than sticking Ayala up front and pinging the crosses in to him. OK that’s a silly thought!
  19. Hull’s biggest threats come down the wings. With Nyambe missing it will be interested who plays roght back to stop Williams who looks lively.
  20. You hit the nail on the head! Brighton are in the Premier League hence they can afford to attract the best young players from around the world. Unfortunately as a Championship club we can’t compete in the same markets. I don’t mind loaning their players if it helps us progress.
  21. Really surprised to see Magloire in the starting line up and clearly Blackpool had done their homework on our weaknesses on that side of the pitch. We missed Nyambe and Lenihan badly but what we missed in the first half more than anything is any energy and organisation. What a turnround in the second half, particularly when Gallagher went off and Edun came on. The midfield began to control the game with Rothwell and Travis pushing forward. Really impressed with Edun but no doubt he will be back on the bench next game. Brereton in the right spot again, as a good striker should be, just a pity we don’t have another to join him.
  22. Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but Povieda ran straight down the tunnel at the end, not acknowledging anyone as far as I could see. Seems that Mowbray has a problem or two with the loan players he has taken on.
  23. I don’t watch Rovers TV as I’m not that keen to see highlights, replays or interviews, plus I’m a tight git! I do subscribe to the occasional away game when available. However, if I lived overseas and had paid £170 for a season TV pass only to be told the day before the game (or not being told at all) that the game was not being broadcast on Rovers TV I would be absolutely fuming. I know that the club have to comply with EFL rules regarding broadcasts but that should be in line with a schedule published well in advance, not the day before the game. Subscribers could then make other arrangements to watch. The club are obviously benefiting financially from these extra games so the very least that they can do is compensate those who have lost out. The £170 is clearly excessive and a partial refund should be considered. I wouldn’t hold your breath!
