  1. Yeh and the more stick people like Jan give him, the longer it will take for his confidence to return. Hopefully Santa (Claus) will bring him some new shooting boots and all will be well.
  2. However if he thinks he is bigger than the team and is not prepared to accept that he can't always play 90 minutes then we are better off without him. Don't get me wrong I hope he stays but this not the first time he's thrown his dummy out of his pram.
  3. Not at all. What I and others are suggesting is that there must be an alternative to the left midfield position if MGP is out of form and maybe lacking confidence in front of goal. He is a quality player and an asset to the Club but no harm in trying different things and giving others a chance from time to time.
  4. Is it time to push Warnock forward into left midfield and play Olsson at left back?
  5. Personally I believe Bentley has made a mistake in pulling out of this tournament but he clearly feels strongly about not playing and has made a brave decision which he may come to regret. I suspect this all stems from the recall of Golden Boy Beckham who has effectively now blocked Bentley's immediate progression into the right midfield slot. Mclaren or any future manager (only a matter of time ) would be very foolish to hold it against Bentley and disregard him for the senior squad. Just as the fans should not hold it against MClaren for ditching Beckham. However the suits at the FA may have different views.
  6. Apologies. Just answering a question. Didn't realise you were a Moderator now!
  7. He took a lot of stick (What do you expect from the Dingles) but to be fair he also got a round of applause when he was substituted.
  8. Sidwell, the free transfer from Reading, happens to be a terrific player. Wish we were signing him. Can't argue with Bellamy being a good replacement for Benni but Beattie??? If he does leave then I'm sure that Hughes will find an adequate replacement
  9. IMO this is MCarthy stating he would like to play Champions League football again and not necessarily saying he is gonna leave. The Sun can put any kind of spin they want to around that statement. Lets wait and see what develops before we have a go at Benni.
  10. Isn't it time to close this topic? FFS Dunny's a Rovers player whatever we all thought at the time and we shouldn't still be debating whether or not was a good signing. Any comment on his performance in matches should be in the specific match thread
  11. All this fuss over a player who has given us solid service for 4/5 years. What do people expect? That he was going to end his playing days with Rovers? Get real. As for 60k per week. Thats not his valuation but someone else's and there's not a member of this board who would have turned down such an offer. But he's a West Ham player now and we move onwards and upwards
  12. Yeh its great how so many Rovers fans know exactly what is going through his mind when he pulls on the shirt. Personally I don't blame him for getting his own back on the boo boys who started getting on his back as long ago as the Sheff utd game. Must have been great for him to feel that whatever he did for Rovers would be criticised. If there was a remote chance that he would change his mind about leaving Ewood I'm afraid that has probably entirely disappeared. Unless of course Rovers make him see out his contract.
  13. Palace match for sure. Maybe if the home leg had finished 4-1 (Gayle penalty miss) instead of 3-1 it would have been different
  14. I see you joined the board today. Funny how you are so quick to criticise what was a positive move by genuine caring fans to influence the direction of their club. If you care so much about your football club then you might want to suggest an alternative and not one which involves selling out to a Russian billionaire. PS I have nothing to do with BRISA
  15. Am i right in thinking the Beckhams got engaged somewhere in the Ribble Valley. Maybe its a case of nostalgia and they now want another kid and name it Wimberley
  16. I'm sure Mark Hughes is a bit more qualified than you to decide who should be playing. Lay off our players
  17. Well, when I started this topic I thought it would just get buried in the old gate debate but thankfully mods it hasn't. After 6 pages of mostly sensible discussion about this particular match, I believe the realisation that Premiership and European football for Rovers may end some day, is the startling conclusion. Thats precisely why I bothered to make the trips to Salzburg and Krakow, having missed out on previous European ventures for various reasons, I was not going to miss out again this time. A short trip over the Pennines was nothing on a cold November night. The world of football is changing, illustrated by teams like Leeds, Wolves, Derby etc who are struggling to get back to the Premiership. What is the hope for us when, and I say WHEN, we drop out of the Premiership again. Don't wish to sound pessimistic but ALL Rovers fans need to question whether they will be happy to see Rovers playing League 1 or even League 2 football?
  18. Apparently Tottenham didn't have a problem selling out at £40 a ticket
  19. So all the missing Rovers fans thought "Ah! Boro and Bolton fans didn't bother with the UEFA cup so I won't eiher" Will they be bothered when we get to the Final? Too right they will. Tickets will be like gold dust and the town will shut down for the day. Your choice Rovers fans, but ask yourselves what you actually want from this Club
  20. Just back from Ewood after a 100 mile round trip which I made with a couple of mates and our kids. Have to say that for a UEFA cup match the attendance of 13000 is absolutely pathetic. The town of Blackburn does not deserve a Premiership club never mind one that is currently sitting at the top of its UEFA cup group. Now I'm not having a go here at those who can't attend a midweek game for whatever reason. Its those who just can't be a$$ed to turn up. John Williams and Co must be tearing their hair out at their futile attempts to woo supporters out of their armchairs. This is just not good enough Rovers fans (if thats what you are) I suppose you've all got your tickets lined up to watch the Manure match next week. Do Rooney and Co hold more attraction than watching your own players progress in Europe? Answers on a postcard
  21. Nowt wrong with the Riverside. Sat there for yonks and wouldn't dream of moving anywhere else. Have tried the Jack Walker and the Family stand and frankly the view I have is second to none. Plus I get to see the three new stands so don't notice how odd the Riverside might look. As for people leaving before the end of the match, don't tell me they don't in other parts of the ground, they just sneak out the back way. The ones who leave at the front of the Riverside aren't daft, they know they can still watch the match as they walk off. Many actually congregate at the end so they don't miss the finish. So yes it would be nice to have four sides the same but it ain't gonna happen unless the population of Blackburn suddenly doubles.
  22. Wasn't a linesman pulled from the Champions League final for being photographed in a Barcelona shirt?
  23. Lets stop this fan bashing and wait to see how many actually turn up!!! There will be many who cannot go to the game for whatever reason and some who can't be bothered. Just accept it.
  24. So whats happened to Michael Gray (apart from being lamped by Rooney)? Surely a natural attacking left back is better than playing Neill there. We just don't seem the same down the left hand side and I believe that MGP's game is suffering. Early days but its worrying that our lack of form has coincided with the absence of Gray and Todd
  25. Theres absolutely no need for a bunch of mindless idiots standing in Section E, to boo Neill towards the end of the game. Yes you know who you are!!! Absolutely disgusting attitude towards a player who has every right to go and seek employment elsewhere but who whilst still in a Rovers shirt is playing his heart out to win.
