  1. Theres absolutely no need for a bunch of mindless idiots standing in Section E, to boo Neill towards the end of the game. Yes you know who you are!!! Absolutely disgusting attitude towards a player who has every right to go and seek employment elsewhere but who whilst still in a Rovers shirt is playing his heart out to win.
  2. Quite agree. I defy any player international or not, to come straight into a side playing against Chelsea and have a perfect game. Maybe he should have been on the bench but if Hughes thinks he's good enough to start then thats good enough for me. As for MGP, well if he'd scored a goal or two everyone would be raving about him. We know what his qualities are and he's never going to be a pacy winger as Duff is. Having said that his shooting and crossing have gone off something terrible.
  3. The more I see Mcarthy the more I think he could be the answer to our creative midfield problem. He looks to have good vision, passing skills, can shoot from distance and is comfortable on the ball. Any comments?
  4. Ticket office opening times are clear. Everyone knows they aren't open on a Saturday afternoon except on match days. In any case if someone wants a ticket that badly they have pleny of time and options to buy one if they want to go. Unfair criticism of the club IMO
  5. I think the problem is that the wide men are under instructions to get crosses in early. Thats fine but inevitably more margin for error. On the evidence of yesterdays performance the Roberts/MCarthy partnership is going to be awesome this season. Shame we don't still have Bellamy too! Good peformance too from Gallagher who played a little bit wider and deeper. A couple of excellent balls into the channels for the other strikers. Feeling very positive after yesterday but much will depend on whether Neill stays or not. Lets hope MH can just persuade him to stay for another season. He's then a potentially very rich free agent. Agree with other comments about team spirit and morale. Seems that they enjoy playing together and the communication (which was easy to hear in an empty stadium) was clearly evident. Fingers crossed for a good start against Pompey, Everton and Chelski
  6. Would certainly recommend the Riverside. Great view although the facilies obviously not quite up to the rest of the ground. Depends what you want. Have sat in the Family stand and the view and atmosphere are inferior. If you get seats in Row 10 upwards and away from the ends I doubt you would get wet other than in the most exceptional weather. Come and join us
  7. I suspect that by making this game a+ we can fleece all the Everton fans as well as some of our own (but not all as many will be season ticket holders). Rovers have to go with the flow on ticket prices or we will be left behind as far as match day income is concerned. After all there are cheaper seats available in the Riverside for those who can't afford. The cost of tickets is a never ending debate but until a sizeable chunk of supporters refuse to pay I'm afraid the clubs will continue to charge exhorbitant prices.
  8. I understand he has a clause in his contract that says he can leave if a Champions League club bid........
  9. Or, in total just above what the Old Trafford capacity will be next season. Think I'd rather have 20000 loyal local fans than 76000 with a high proportion of glory hunters from Essex
  10. Yeh! I wonder how many Liverpool fans will extend the boycott to their own TV's
  11. Not sure if this has already been posted but apparently Liverpool fans are now boycotting the Rovers game on 15th April as a protest against the match being played on that day. It seems that they are not happy with the way their club has handled the affair. What a shame that the Hillsborough situation is going to deprive Rovers of a potentially full house and revenue.
  12. Don't see drums at any other ground do you?
  13. Can't see how the ref can give a penalty for an incident which happens whilst the ball is not in play
  14. What about Malcolm Darling? Much better value for Rovers in the 70's
  15. Industrial injury. Yes a bad break but he'll get over it. Not like he's dead or anything serious like that. Broke my leg in '75 and I'm still as crap at football as I was before. Pretty poor form from the Pool fans singing about Riise and all that.
  16. The Arsenal game will be a good test of how good our support is. Attractive opposition Moderate away following Category A+ prices Saturday 3-00pm kick off Can go 5th above them if we win etc.... Anything above 25k will be a good gate. Anything below 22k will be poor IMO

  18. Any chance of this game being called off at the last minute? Just checking there haven't been any flash floods or earthquakes and the like in the Blackburn area before we set off from sunny Yorkshire
  19. Maybe thats why he's not doing so good as a footie manager!!!
  20. What's so different about Walcott being linked with another club to what happens all the time with kids. I manage a junior football team and we regularly lose kids to the academies. At the end of the day it's about the player achieving the best that he can.
  21. Oh nearly forgot. A similar bet on Rovers to get more than 47 points
  22. I for one hope Souness doesn't get the sack. Only because I have a spread bet on them failing to reach 55 points!!!! Show me the money!!!!
  23. Nice to see Steve Bruce looking so happy about things anyway
  24. Just watched the BIG CLUB v West Ham (1-2) but what a sparkling performance from Dunny. OK, I know many will say he's injury prone and he was overweight and he only played when he wanted to and........ Personally I believe he's just the player we need to unlock defences. A great performance tonight, but which should have been in a Rovers shirt!!!
  25. Well lets hope the players don't have the same attitude
