WATR (The Rovers Trust)

This what the fans are resorting to? Personal abuse? -
Don’t see why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about SS going. It was nailed on at the end of last season that he wouldn’t be here next. What is concerning is that we haven’t yet signed anyone who can improve the quality of the squad. JE has said he requires 4 or 5 players and we just have to hope they arrive and do improve the squad. Having said that, we will probably start the season without them.

I got my left foot by breaking my right leg (at Brockhall before Rovers bought the old hospital grounds) -

Totally agree. From some of the games I’ve watched the teams are much more physical (to the point of giving away blatant fouls) but seem to play with much more intensity than England. We tend to be a little to deliberate at times. Rice definitely needs someone beside him who is comfortable on the ball and can pick out that killer pass. Personally I don’t think Wharton is ready to play at this level just yet but hell, he may just be a success. -
As far as academies are concerned, the wealthier clubs will always invest more and Rovers are doing pretty well to keep up with them. However at the end of the day the individual players, their parents/guardians and agents will have the final say which club they choose to ultimately have a professional career with. Many clubs don’t have academies so Rovers are always going to attract some of the better kids but if we lose one or two along the way to a professional career so be it.

Huddersfield may have been relegated but are very much like Rovers. Great tradition but overtaken by bigger and much richer clubs. Championship is probably their level and won’t spend long in League 1. Will need a bit of a rebuild in the summer so if Sutton is good at his job then he will be an asset. Some great murals on Leeds Rd. Here’s one: https://www.htafc.com/news/2023/june/club-unveil-thrice-champions-mural/

2024/25 Season Tickets

Planning your life to take account of Rovers fixtures? I guess most Rovers fans will do that. If a game has to be missed so be it, but hardly a dull life (particularly if we win!) -

Hey lay off us Riversiders! If it wasn’t for us seniors in there the stand would have been demolished yonks ago. Yes, many could probably afford to pay more and I would certainly do that to be 25 again! Where have those 60 wasted years watching Rovers gone? -
Strange to see Lewis Travis celebrating with Ipswich players after their win at Coventry tonight. We well and truly fckued up there

The one’s who have caused irretrievable damage to the club are not on the pitch sadly. -

It’s a metaphor. Of course only those interested will have seen it but what happened to fair minded Rovers fans giving the guy some support. He’ll be playing in the last two games so giving him both barrels isn’t going to help. We move on from the Wednesday fiasco. -

I’m pretty sure Pears feels bad enough without half the world laughing at him. Shit happens, Henderson (a much better keeper at Palace) did the same yesterday. It’s how we move on from Sunday that matters. Coventry may be a better team but we have to believe we can beat them or failing that, not lose.
