We can’t change the team drastically for the remaining matches purely because the squad isn’t strong enough. Amongst the defeats we have had some decent performances for example against Southampton and Leeds. The main concern has to be who else can score goals apart from Szmodics? Where on earth have Gallagher’s goals gone? Dolan spends most of the time doing his tricks out on the wing instead of in the box where it hurts. We, the fans, can’t give up now and just have to hope the players don’t either -
FA cup replays scrapped
Uddersfelt Blue replied to wilsdenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I guess that when even Championship clubs don’t take the FA Cup too seriously until the later rounds (if they get that far) then the competition has undoubtedly lost it’s excitement. But to be pandering to the Premier League who would rather fit in with UEFA’s requirements than domestic competitions is sticking two fingers up to the smaller clubs who dream of money spinning replays at Old Trafford etc. -

I think we should worry more about their team rather than how many fans they are bringing. They will be tough opposition despite their position. We need to stop Bannon from running the show as he invariably does. We also need to avoid being bullied as they are a big physical side. Not giving away silly free kicks and corners would be a start. -

Let’s just pray we don’t lose on Sunday or there’ll be lots of “told you so”’s on this board after the game. i get both sides of the away fans argument but it really shouldn’t affect the Rovers performance. We handled the hostile atmosphere at Elland Rd (which really brewed up with Pears time wasting) and got the result. IMO Rovers fans turning up and getting behind the team will have as much, if not more impact as 7000k away fans. -

Most teams generally leave their quickest player as their last man at a corner. The centre backs are usually not that man. However, I agree we should sometimes leave at least one player on the half way line. -

We can’t do anything now about the game being on Sky, the early kick off, prices or 7000 Wednesday fans, however Rovers fans can turn up in numbers to make sure the team gets the kind of support it got yesterday at Leeds. i’m sure the players would relish 20k or so Rovers fans urging them on to a win. -

These kinds of results don’t come around very often. I’m glad I and so many Rovers fans were there to witness it. We need to replicate that next Sunday and in the remaining games. -

Only seen the goals from last night’s game and some pretty awful defending was the principal cause. However, you defend from the front so the whole team are to blame. If we’re being honest, we were never going to get anything out of this game. Since before Xmas, Bristols form has generally improved culminating in a recent win over Leicester whilst ours has plummeted. It’s unfortunate that injuries to key players have plagued us this season but the biggest miss has to be losing Adam Wharton voluntarily without adequately replacing him. Whatever happens this season we need a good look at Rovers situation. -

Can’t you arrange to buy the tickets from Ewood and pick up at Bristol? I’ve done that previously -

After the performances against Ipswich and Sunderland we can go into this game with confidence but we must make sure we are tight at the back. -
John Eustace - our head coach

The performance against Plymouth was poor but how much was it because we were set up badly or because Plymouth were outstanding on the day? But we do have to give some credit to the players (and manager) that we didn’t lose. Whether we would have won the game had we finished with 11 players, who knows? -

No amount of ifs and buts will change the position we are in. We aren’t likely to change the current manager so we go into the last 9 games hoping we can turn some of our draws into wins. Despite the apparent difficult fixtures remaining there will be pressure on teams at both ends of the table resulting in some surprises. We do need our injured players back though. -

Going back to the game, and I know we conceded, but we actually looked better playing with 10 -

Do we know how close JRC is to coming back from injury and Carter for that matter? -

Who cares what players do in their spare time! its what they do on the pitch that matters. -
v Millwall (h) - 5/3/24
Uddersfelt Blue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We have to remember that we have a number of players still injured and some of the replacements just aren’t yet good enough for this level of football. Particularly disappointing performances from both Dolan and Gallagher who just don’t seem to be able to perform on a consistent basis. Dolan scores 2 against Stoke and nothing since. Gallagher against Preston but again nothing since. Maybe they aren’t getting the service but as regular strikers we should expect a better return. We desperately need Hedges, Tronstad and JRC (and Carter) back fully fit. Hopefully Brittain’s injury is not too bad. -

Speculation or fact? It would be good if someone at the club could come out and explain WTF has happened over the past 2 months. -
Next Seasons Manager
Uddersfelt Blue replied to Tyrone Shoelaces's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think both JDT and JE seem to have been victims of the dreaded injury jinx. Yes, we know all teams get injuries but ours seem to have had quite an impact. The midfield against Stoke had JRC, Tronstadt and Hedges. All missing at Swansea. JDT also had to cope with injuries to several key players, Carter amongst them. If we can get to the international break without any disasters then we could be in a better position albeit with a tough run in -

Disappointing result but not unexpected given our recent league form. Looking back at what ifs is not much comfort now so we have to stick behind the manager and the team. The effort is there and we just need a bit more nous in front of goal. Getting Hedges and JRC back will be key as they are the more mature members of the squad and can support the younger players. The likes of Moran, Ayari and Markandy, whilst skilful, shouldn’t be asked to shoulder the burden of a relegation battle. Whoever agreed to Travis leaving should be shot! The Newcastle game showed that we can perform when required and that the fans will get behind the team. We need this in the last few home games!
