  1. With around 100 hours to go, its shaping up like this, Brittain, Morton, Szmodics, Sepp, Hyam and Hirst in. BBD out which will open door to. potentially a couple more coming in. Players that could be revisited Maja, Styles, Bowler, Van Hecke. BBD sale likely to generate an additional £5 mill to spend, though with wages issue cap, i still think we will struggle to improve on 4 in, with the 4th a direct BBD replacement, which is likely to come from abroad due to uk transfer fees offering little value.
  2. Didnt say i was ok with it' just posting what i was told
  3. LET mentioned them this morning' I've heard nothing further on either
  4. Talking to my Portsmouth mate' he says Hirst a real grafter, handful and clinical, he says they were quoted £5 mill when they wanted to make it permanent
  5. Be shocked if we took him as another loan tbh
  6. I think this one will happen based on what i was told yesterday, seems we have been looking at under 23s from prem as striker options. Stansfield on the other hand being part of fulham first team squad seems to have back burnered that, although a loan on deadline day wouldn't come as a surprise for him
  7. He is talking out his ass, Hyam deal done, unrelated to BBD, and no deal remotely close to sell BBD
  8. Another name I heard yesterday as one who we've looked at is George Hirst
  9. Nixon saying we are in front again in Van Hecke race https://the72.co.uk/2022/08/28/blackburn-rovers-edging-ahead-of-sunderland-in-race-to-sign-22-year-old/
  10. Sharpe reporting Bastien Yanez a potential target
  11. We literally scored with every shot the first 3 games. QPR was poor, we got the job done. Swansea totally dominated, we hit them on the break and took our chances. WBA we scored with our only chances and left Bruce scratching his head. Despite 9 points at that stage, I was concerned we had new manager bounce as the the only stat that supported those results was the one that mattered, we'd won somehow. The next 3, its been woeful. Its not by a lack of effort either, I see 11 players genuinely trying their best, but also 11 players scratching their heads at how we get control of the game and penetrate. This is not down to one summer of losing certain players, this is down to a number of summers of a lack of real investment in the transfer market. Signing players for pennies in a market where your pennies get you very little. I genuinely think any manager would be struggling with the current crop of players, because although we have some talented players, the areas we are missing to compliment them is becoming increasingly likely to go un-filled applying more pressure on the manager to get results without the tools to do so
  12. Its a very fair point and one which i cant answer with confidence either way until after Thursday We have lots of central players and number 10s. However at this time we have no genuine wingers or width and No natural number 9 to hang our coat on to produce the goals. We could argue, thats not the way we play, however the current personnel in the main were found out from Xmas time onwards last season. We became ever so predictable and what i've seen to date under JDT is a lot worse than what I was seeing last season. We lack creativity or any real game plan. The football is not nice to watch, which i can handle if we are getting the results. Thing is, the last 3 league games we never at one point looked like getting a result and its not down to defensive frailties. We have some talented kids in Wharton ect, but in the end its not enough and unless we get 6 through the door which includes a striker and a couple of creative players then I dont see us scoring enough goals to stay up. I'm genuinely worried
  13. Thanks, so basically 13 shots on target in 6 games? This is the most worrying thing for me, we are creating nothing, not working the opposition with meaningful shots, and had we not scored with nearly every shot on target in those first three games, JDT reign would likely of been less than Bergs. Like his honesty, the things he says, but the football needs to improve massively
  14. Does any of the stats people on here' have our shots on goal' shots on target total for the first 6 games please?
  15. Where do i start? First half as bad as a brand of football that i've seen in a long long time. We talk about needing defenders, but if it hadnt of been for the defenders and Kaminski Stoke would of been out of sight without trying. Second half we was full of endeavour but again tactically woeful. Positives, Wharton, Hedges, Dolan, Travis and Dack second half. What we lacked in quality we made up with effort. 6 games in, and we need to sign creative players and an out and out striker. Defence although needing new blood wont be enough to keep us afloat. Football wise, to put it mildly its been shit.
  16. Just my opinion, i've shook it around for a few hours, but based on two signings from relegated sides, a loan from Liverpool, and the possibility of Caulker, Hyam and A.N nother. Add to that the likely loss of Brereton, then I think we could of Given the DOF role to 95% of this MSG board and felt we'd had a better transfer window. I'd of rather of agreed new deals with Rothwell, Lenihan and Nyambe and signed no-body and kept the cash. The young players we have would still have got opportunities, and squad wise although worse off through the loss of the loans, at least i could accept that this is the model. A week for the club to ease my fears, but as things stand its been pathetic so far
  17. Matt Clarke gone Boro from Brighton, decent pick up that
  18. Very much so, seems goalposts have moved. Still some time left in window, but GB to date seems a downgrade on that Senior, and he was shocking. Business so far, 2 players from relegated clubs and a loan. Stinks of the days when we were buying the likes of Ashley Ward. Trying to stay positive, but even the football has been dross. Here's hoping for a miracle

  20. JDT has just said in that interview tonight, the club provides the players . He was probed very well by Bayes and left zero doubt, that he does not get involved in providing targets or negotiating them. Its GB's role, he just picks the team
  21. Last summer Armstrong downed tools refused to sign another deal and made it clear he wanted off, and off now. The club in the end negotiated the best deal we could get. However Brereton, has done the opposite, he is trying his best and although doesnt want a new deal, and in all honesty we couldn't get near to paying him what these other clubs could pay, he is happy to let it play out one way or the other. I.e we get the money this window, or he can leave as a free agent. I see the above as very fair, and the buck really in rovers hands.
  22. Its been like this since last season, its not new news. Prior to last season we were even considering loaning him out. Football works both ways It wasnt working, then its clicked, however a new contract is something he didnt want to entertain last season. Its been widely accepted by most that we'd struggle to tie him down to another deal, and its always been a case of selling him for £20 plus, or let the contract run down. Personally i'd sell and reinvest the lot, however as we showed with Armstrong, they'd cock it up and end up with no-one
  23. On another note, SKY have been very very naughty and are reporting something which is 9 months old regarding Brereton. He has not asked to leave the club, yes he does not want to entertain a new deal, but that has been the stance since November last year. This has created mass hysteria and if anything done some irreparable damage to the players reputation
