  1. Don’t mind the new GK on a free. Sell Pears for a ‘six figure fee’ (the latest buzz words) and replace him for nothing? Sounds like a decent deal for us.
  2. Outskirts of Burnley or Spain to bring up his child? Hmm…
  3. Latest reports from Football Insider suggest Villarreal may move to bring BBD in this January if they sell Danjuma this month.
  4. Just spoken to a Brighton supporting pal of mine about Undav.. He said he’s not cut it in the PL but could be great at our level. Also said the new manager isn’t a fan, he’s been playing a 19 year old kid ahead of him and he was a Potter signing. He thinks the club would try to recoup as much of the reported £4.5m they paid for him and get shut. Would be a wise move for us to include a buy option for the summer. Loan fee now plus an option to buy of say £3.5m+ add ons. If he bangs them in he’ll be worth a lot more than that.
  5. Surely he’ll get a loan to a bottom 3 PL contender. He’s too good for the Championship.
  6. I do think some people’s expectations in here are a little unrealistic. When all is said and done we’re a small town club. We get 13k fans in the ground on a good day, and the only reason we ever got into the top flight was a dedicated owner who pumped his own money into the club before there was any kind of regulations. Currently we’re spending what we can, the owners can’t put any more money in than they are doing, so the only possible way we can push forward is by using our academy. Do we need experienced players? Yes of course. Is the stubbornness of the owners to not sell nearly out of contract players hurting us? Absolutely. But at the end of the day, what sets us apart from other mediocre clubs in the Championship or League 1? Not a lot, other than a history that was bought for us by Uncle Jack. Sometimes we need to think about how lucky we are.
  7. Mola’s anticipation and reading of the game is far too poor to play CDM.
  8. Rich Sharpe says it’s not true and Cantwell is off to Rangers.
  9. 2 years ago Cantwell was valued at £30 million and linked to Liverpool, Man United, Spurs and Chelsea. There must be a player in there. At £2 million I think it’s worth a punt. Can’t be any worse than Szmodics.
  10. It does seem strange that we haven’t even been linked with anyone. There also seems to be a lack of ITK people in relation to Rovers nowadays. Even the ever so popular Mr Nixon doesn’t have much.
  11. Charlton set to land Edun on loan until the end of the season. James Brown looks like he’s going back out on loan to Bristol Rovers
  12. Don’t need to spend a lot of money in January. I’m sure the club have targets & also looking at players who they want in the summer who they could get in early. On top of that there are loads of quality players in the PL who aren’t getting game time - quite a few will become available towards the end of the window. Djed Spence - not had a kick for Spurs but tore the Championship apart from RB last season. Joe Gelhardt - not getting much game time at Leeds, they’ve just signed a new striker and linked with another £30m move. Sam Surridge - not playing at Forest, 7 goals in 20 games last season, including some appearances off the bench. The list goes on…
  13. Ipswich vs Burnley in the FA Cup. George Hirst, this is your time.
  14. I think Broughton has eluded to the fact we might move for players in January who we would otherwise have targeted in the summer to avoid losing them or playing higher wages. He used the example of Hedges. I’d get JPVH in, loan out Carter to a bottom half Championship side or Phillips to League 1 for game time. Then bring them back in when Ayala leaves in the summer. No brainer.
  15. Gally doesn’t score enough goals, granted, but we’re a miles better team with him in the XI than out of it.
  16. 8 goals in 25 games in League 1. A marginally better record than George Hirst.
