I don’t think Broughton would go for a panicked appointment like that. If we do it’ll be clear he has no power/say and he’ll be off before the World Cup starts. What I can see is Broughton coming in to a shambles of managerial recruitment and beginning his own, shorter process which may still go on for a week or two.

Bit harsh on Hedges, he was coming good at the end of the season. Wide forward/manager - Gregg Broughton really is mixing things up with the creation of this new role.

The longer this drags on the more of a shambles it is becoming. Players are returning to pre season training next week for it to be taken by Lowe & Johnson. Nobody has a clue if Nyambe will even show up, despite his contract running until June 30th. The new manager has to be in there to evaluate the current squad, identify areas for improvement and what areas the club need to target in the transfer market. At this rate maybe Broughton will swap his suit for a tracksuit and take the training, sounds like he’s got the most qualifications of the lot.

Not sure if this has been posted in here before, but has anyone any knowledge of the sale of Brockhall Farm which sits next to the current Academy? Currently Sold subject to conditions. I know there was a lot of talk last year about moving the senior training centre to the academy site, but would surely make sense for Rovers to have bought this if they really are keen on developing a single site training complex.

DoF seems like a really interesting appointment and one that can build on our Category 1 academy and philosophy of promoting youth as Mowbray supported to his credit over the last 5 years. I do wonder why this wasn’t done sooner though so he could aid the recruitment of a suitable manager who aligns with this vision.

What exactly has Ronny Deila done to deserve the Rovers job? Did ok in the Norwegian League, moved to Celtic and won the league during a time that their only challengers were Aberdeen. Then went back to the Norwegian league and did poorly. After that he goes to the MLS, the retirement village for ex Premier League players. NO THANKS. I’d rather have Warne, Ainsworth or even Dunc.

Just had a watch of some videos on Warne. He comes across well, his footballing ideas sound like they would suit our squad, and the way he signs players making sure they are the right fit and right people sounds ok to me too. He’s not the big name we wanted such as Farke etc, but he’s one I’d give a real good chance. Also sounds like the kind of manager who wouldn’t let a team slack off, especially after Christmas… no idea how he’ll cope on Sky though 😉
