  1. Just to add a point. I think everyone will agree with me on this one that how much better the atmosphere was when we played Burnley at home when everyone in the Blackburn End was standing.
  2. Blackburn v Leicester Hughes focuses on Leicester test I think the danger to face from Leicester is on set pieces. As we are the 'bully boys' if we can match them for the physical side of the game, like we did against Burnley. With our current form I'm still confident of going to Cardiff.
  3. Man United come out to that at Old Trafford every game. As for The Liquidator, Wolves came out to that. But in the end they stopped playing it because at times the Wolves fans told W.B.A to go away, during the song.
  4. I think it's the weekend of April 16/17th. I'm not sure about this game, Leicester have been doing ok under their new manager, they went to Charlton and won. But, their two goals at The Valley were from set pieces, with our defense at the moment I'm fairly conifdent that we will win, just.
  5. Good preview colin. I'm going for a draw, Liverpool 2 - 2 Rovers. Same result as last time at Ewood, the games between us and them are quite open.
  6. When Leverkusen scored, they played Status Quo's, Rocking All Over The World, which did sound good. And then the Leverkusen fans chanted to the song for the rest of the game.
  7. There's a long list of what songs we could come out to. I'm sick of hearing, 'Let's get it started' by the Black Eyed Peas every game.
  8. Chelsea v Barca is a brilliant game up to half time. The passing has been brilliant, some of the goals as well have been good. Ronaldinho, how he scored that I'll never know. Still an open game.
  9. Thought Rovers were superb at Everton. Very solid, stubborn look about the team. Everton through everything at us towards the end, Todd and Nelsen particuarly were brilliant at the back, again. Reid stood out from the rest in midfield. I've been putting him in my predicted starting line up's. He's changed the game in the last few games where he has been brought on, particuarly both Burnley games. Played a great through ball to Stead for his winner, fingers crossed Stead can get a few more between now and the end of the season. Considering Stead shot like that, his confidence wasn't as low as I thought.
  10. In an ideal world, yes. I'm sure Hughes has a list of who he wants and who he wants to get rid of, but he's not going to get everything he wants. Promoting a few players from the Academy must be in the back of Hughes's mind, save a few quid there. I'd like to see Koumas at Ewood, Routledge is probably wanting to stay in London and won't consider moving up here.
  11. This is going to be a busy summer for Hughes. I'd start of with getting a player who can compete with Neill, hopefully a better full back than Neill who eventually will replace him. For, too long Neill hasn't been anything more than average. A left full back wouldn't go a miss for a bit of variety. A right winger and possibly a midfielder, I'd look at Koumas of W.B.A. Tugay could be off, hasn't played as well and has showed he can't play like he did every week. And a striker who's physically strong. I'd let Jansen go, no matter how much of a good player he has been to the club you've got to look at the future and can anyone honestly see him in the future like he was before 2002? With the transfer funds of around £5M, I'm glad we have Hughes and not Souness to spend our money. Hughes has already brought in some good players for very little money, more of the same please.
  12. I'd pick Reid over Emerton by a mile. I've been saying it in some of my lastest team predictions, Reid is playing well at the moment. Take both Burnley games. When Reid came on he changed both games. He played at Everton, looked solid in the tackle passed the ball well and played a great through ball to Stead.
  13. Every point we pick up now is vitally important. Palace and Southampton both got very good results yesterday and if we lose a few, they pick up points we're back in it again. I think a draw today would be a good result so I'm going for Everton 1 - 1 Rovers Cahill and Todd to score.
  14. I don't know what more people want from the ticket office. To shift the amount of home tickets for the cup tie that they have done is brilliant. To see the amount of tickets told for the game in a week of going on sale, I say well done to the Ticket Office.
  15. Really? It was 28,691 against Burnley, yet it was 29,271 for when Newcastle came down to Ewood on Boxing Day. So it wasn't the biggest crowd of the season for when you came.
  16. Great buy by Hughes, a defender who we got for a very good price, doesn't mess around, does the simple things right but is very effective. He's been solid in nearly every game he's played this season and it's great to have a player like Nelsen who understands what it means to the fans.
  17. Great win last night. Burnley came and tried to frustrate us and did that for most of the second half. It wasn't the best game of football but it was about who kept going and driving on. We did have a bit of luck in Tugay's shot being deflected, perhaps Hyde didn't mean his goal as a shot. Great play by MGP prior to scoring his goal and what a great strike. The difference in both teams is a lot closer than it was in 2001, we have lost several influential players and got worse, Burnley have a more solid look about them. Cahill impressed me for them and thought he marked Dickov well throughout the game. As for the noise from both ends? Burnley did make some noise, perhaps not as loud as other clubs who have brought 7K, but according to a mate in the JW Stand both ends had spells where they were loud. But with the amount of chances Burnley had they can't expect not to win unless they don't create chances, the game would have been a lot more open if they had been more attacking, I think they were looking for Extra Time or even penalites. Main thing is we won, local pride is still at Blackburn, end of.
  18. The replay is nearly here. After a tight, scrappy game with chances few and far between at Turf, we see a replay tomorrow night. I think the game will be a lot different, a different pitch, with both teams being able to pass the ball and probably create a lot more chances. It's up to us to set the tempo of the game, a few hard challenges early in, early shots on goal. I've got a good feeling and I'm going for: Rovers 3 - 1 Burnley Blackburn v Burnley
  19. Looks like from what BRFC4EVA has said it's very close to a sell out. A cracking atmosphere is set, can't wait for this game now, with The Darwen End full of Dingles surely Rovers will have to have one of their biggest cleaning operations after to dis-infect the Darwen End.
  20. I've only been in Heaven and Hell once and it was enough to put me off for life, drinks aren't cheap, poor music. Preston's a good night out, Warehouse is a good place to go out and is decent because it has a good variety of music.
  21. A local derby, the Blackburn End should be standing, whether it does or doesn't is another question, but it would be great to see what kind of atmosphere the BBE could produce if everyone was to stand when we are all up for it.
  22. I think you'll be surprised. I'm not making excuses, the game at Turf was Burnley's best chance of winning the tie I think. Burnley played well, with really only having one chance. That pitch wasn't the best to pass on, but with a good surface at Ewood you'll see the difference in the way of our play.
  23. I think the semi final dates are the 16/17th April this year, both games are at Cardiff.
  24. Chatting to three lads who live near me and they're going down to Ewood to buy a ticket each, haven't had chance so far to get them because of work. I'm not sure if it will be a sell out, but I'd guess it will be fairly close. I wonder if Burnley will get the attendance that they got last Sunday again when they next play on Turf.
  25. I'm quietly confident that we will win this game. I'm not making excuses for the result against Burnley at Turf Moor, but I think the pitch is the big difference. On Tuesday, we have to set the pace of the game to how it suit us. We can pass it about on the pitch, our fitness is better than ours, we haven't played a game since the game at Turf, they have played two. At home, hopefully a sell out crowd, to really get behind the team, with our style at play, especially at home, I'd be less confident if the replay was at Burnley but isn't. If it goes to Extra Time, which I hope it doesn't, our fitness should take over. Rovers 3 - 0 Burnley 29,421
