  1. Not the best game in the world, but we won and we're through. Nobody stood out particuarly as a star. Todd looked solid again and very comfortable, Savage did a lot of running and putting pressure on Colchester. Well taken goal by Jemal Johnson, can only do his confidence the world of good. Matteo scored, there is a god. Emerton made a few decent runs but nothing really came of that. All in all, not the best game but we're in for the Fifth Round of the hat and that's all that counts. Burnley away please. And the attendance was dissapointing yet again. Blackburn 3-0 Colchester
  2. Being realistic I'll go for an away win. 2-0 to Chelski. But, we've nothing to fear. On the night, if we're up for it and give Chelsea a real go, then who knows. Just need players like Todd and Savage to put an early hard challenge on the likes of Robben and co. "You're just a small town in Moscow."
  3. Rovers 2 - 1 Colchester Att - 13,528. This ref better have his watch sorted out now.
  4. The attendance last night was grim. A Lancashire Derby which is usually a good game to go to. But the attendance was poor. I knew loads of people both Blackburn and Bolton fans who said they weren't going to bother turning up for the game because the game was being televised on Sky. Sky has ruined football and the future's bleak.
  5. Poor, dull and a scrappy game. Nobody deserved to win the game, a draw would have been a fair result. We were poor without Dickov. Never expected to say that but we really were. There was nobody who looked like they wanted to run with the ball, take a man on, get past him and create something. Maybe only Jemal Johnson who I thought did very well when he came on. I've seen the penalty numerous times now and it looks even worse the more times you see it. How the ref can give that I'll never know. They can't get decisions right and all this rubbish about saying they have a hard job is as well. Decisions change games, we've lost a point out of it and Bolton have gained two by cheating. Thought Mark Hughes and Gary Speed were very good and honest in their post match interviews. Fat Sam seemed to avoid the question of, did Diouf cheat? Blackburn 0-1 Bolton Hughes furious with striker Diouf
  6. Agree with that. Savage is a good player, maybe not talented as some but he's very similar to Dickov. Works hard, runs all day and really gets at the opposition. He might be the player to kick start our season. The prospect of having both Dickov and Savage in our team might mean that nobody likes us, but we don't care. I read in a paper yesterday that Birmingham have told Rovers that when Savage returns to St Andrews later this season that Rovers should be prepared to pay a six figure sum for Police. Would be brilliant if Savage scored the winner at Birmingham. Can't find a link.
  7. Great preview. I'm feeling confident ahead of the game on Monday, just have a feeling with the possible debut of Savage. Rovers 2 - 1 Bolton Blackburn v Bolton
  8. Graham Fenton? and before you ask - NO Diawara should at least get a mention, shouldn't he?
  9. Alan Shearer and Simon Garner. Are Blackburn's greatest ever strikers. I can only vaguely remember watching Garner as I was very young at the time but I'll never forget Shearer when he was here. Without a doubt Shearer was one of the best players I've ever seen.
  10. Good luck to Ken Bates and Leeds United. I know Leeds aren't everybody's favourite club but I hope they get themselves sorted out. Bates seals £10m Leeds takeover
  11. First chance I've had to post a match report on the game. After a good start we seemed to think that we were going to play the game out. Towards the end of the first half I was wondering when half time was actuallg going to come. Thompson took his first goal brilliantly, his second caused problems for Cardiff in their box and if it wasn't for Gallagher's dummy their keeper probably would have collected it. Cardiff scored their first goal really well i thought, good movement from them but bad defending from us, all night really. Ball watching Great start to the second half and MGP finished really well. That was it? We never came forward again, only when we had to and were put under constant pressure from Cardiff. If we had been playing like that against a better team who had a striker who could finish then we would have gone out. Cardiff were unlucky and in my opinion were a credit to the Championship. I was very dissapointed in the performace overall from Rovers. We got through and that's all that counts, third round ties are never the most exciting, now to Colchester.
  12. Please stop your depressing me.....I sincerely hope we get more than 13,000 ffs. Will the 'its only Colchester' mentality be out in force again? I feel it's going to be like that I'm afraid. It's Colchester after all, no offence to Colchester but it's hardly going to be getting a decent gate. The ticket prices are a lot better and for a tenner for me it's a good price so I'll be going. Just wait till we get drawn United in the Fifth Round, I wonder what the attendance will be then?
  13. I didn't think the game was worth the price I paid for the match ticket but we won and got through anyway. Cardiff had around 1,500 fans with them possibly and made more noise than us, but who doesn't when away fans come to Ewood. Will be interesting to see what the attendance will be against Colchester. 13,000 maybe?
  14. Rovers 2 - 1 Cardiff Really hope we win as we have a good chance of progressing further into the competition. Not sure who will score, nor the attendance.
  15. If he doesn't want to play for us, let him as long as we get a decent transfer fee from his, nothing less than we paid for him, unless we can get some players in for his transfer. I want players who want to play for Blackburn Rovers. When Ferguson came to Rovers, I was very excited about his arrival. Whatever he has said in the last few months mean nothing, he's handed in a transfer request so let him go. I just have a feeling that he may go to Newcastle. I can remember Souness after the Rovers v Newcastle game saying something about signing a player, something suspicious there.
  16. Mokoena did say on RadioRovers after the Charlton game that his role model to succeed in football is Radebe and hopes he can do just as well as Radebe did in English football. Personally, I'd give it to Todd. I've noticed a big difference in Todd since Hughes became manager. Todd, still has the aggression in him that we all love but, to me, now it's controlled agressions. At Portsmouth on Saturday, a year ago Lua Lua may have done what he did, Todd may have flattened him. He's played consistantly well this season and deserves his new contract and maybe more.
  17. Got two today. Hoping it's a decent game and we can play Colchester at home in the next round. I'm going for nothing more than 11,000 I'm afraid.
  18. Portsmouth 1 - 1 Rovers With the suspensions we have at the moment, a point I think would be a good result down at Pompey. Portsmouth v Blackburn
  19. If Ferguson wants to leave, for whatever reason and the transfer fee is right for us as a club then I think we should sell him. If he wants to move then fine I'm not too bothered. I am a little dissapointed, providing this is all true because I thought that Barry would have been a bit more influential for us. To be honest I don't think he has had the right midfield partner to play alongside him this season, allowing him to get forward where he's better for us in my opinion. If he goes then I'll be dissapointed, but as a fan I want players who want to be at Blackburn Rovers.
  20. Me and my mate are hoping to go not for the whole tournament because we can't afford it for that, but just to go to a few games, hopefully as many England games as possible and probably see a few other decent games as well.
  21. A draw in the end I thought was probably a fair result. We started both halfs fairly well and created enough chances to win but we only took one of them. MGP took his goal well, other than that he never was in the game again apart from hitting the bar from a corner. He struggled physically, maybe that's something he could work on like they did with Johansson. Cardiff were always going to put us under pressure at some point, but we could have been at least 2-0 up before Cardiff equalised before half time. Not many times I've said it but Friedel was at fault. Second half we did ok but never put Cardiff under constant pressure. Dickov fouled the keeper for Thompson's goal, Dunn blew before Thommo put it in the net. At least we didn't lose and we're still in the FA Cup compared to other Premier League teams, fingers crossed we should have the quality in us to beat them at Ewood.
  22. And then we have members with names like "mhead" who can't read. If you read my first post in this topic I never actually said that I'm not going. I said that, I'm considering not going, because of the prices. It's an extra £20 which is quite a bit to me. I still haven't decided if I'm not going or not. It's not just the price of a ticket, it's getting to the ground and back home, pre-match drink, pie etc. Football's an expensive hobby, not everyone can afford it. Fans are getting priced out and it's no wonder supporters aren't going anymore. I had intended to go to Boro away in early February, but if I go to either one I can't afford to go to the other.
  23. It's ridiculous. What attendance do the club think that they're going to get when they're putting the price of tickets at that price? I'm considering not going. To pay that amount on a Wednesday night against an average Championship side is hardly getting your money's worth. No wonder people are getting fed up with football....
  24. Really looking forward to this game for Saturday. Some ways I'd like to put out a full strength team out but being sensible suggests to rest a few key players. Friedel Neill Amo Moko (sp) Matteo Thompson Flitty Douglas MGP Stead Gally Still a fairly strong enough team to play Cardiff. Could be a confidence game for Stead, MGP and others. Bring Dickov on with twenty minutes to go if need be, but he deserves a rest.
