  1. I've only just seen the incident and can't believe like everyone else why Tottenham weren't given a goal. Video technology? Not for this incident, it's a good yard and a half over the line. The officials should have spotted it and in my opinion whether or not they have a hard job or not they should have given it. The linesman's an embarassment. Robbie Keane confronted him and he didn't look too comfortable. There are advantages and dis-advantages to having video technology in football. I'd like to see the idea of video technology given a trial period in use, then at least we can say football has had a go with it. If it slows the game down, then fine, scrap it. FA considers goal-line technology
  2. Todd's been brilliant for us when he's played this season. Whenever he has played in a Blue and White shirt he always gives his best. Todd's been the reason why we have become more solid, like waggy pointed out. Todd's a commited defender, shown on Soccer AM a few weeks back, attempting to tackle the ball with his head against Everton.
  3. I don't know it's poor to be honest. The club has done their best to give the fans Premiership football at very good prices and allowed a kid for a quid in and it still fails. I don't know why they bother any more.
  4. Great win. Not the best display I've ever seen but we got what we needed and that's three vital points. No report as I agree in everything what roversmum has said in her match report. Blackburn 1-0 Charlton
  5. I understand both your points blue phil and ABBEY. But remember these people, thousands of people, have lost everything that they live for. Shelter, food and family. That man may have already given money and donations, but all I'm saying is what's a pound? MORE SUPPORT FOR DISASTER
  6. Great post. I was watching Sky News the other day and saw the figures of all the donations given by all the countries who have contributed. I saw the total for the E.U, don't know if it has increased but my first thought was that's pathetic. The other night I was in McDonalds waiting for my meal. A man infont paid for a Big Mac meal with a £20 not, plenty of change. He was asked if he would be kind enough to donate some money, he replied with a no and walked out. Sad. Tsunami death toll nears 140,000
  7. I don't think that Jay-Z, Linkin Park or Westlife are great bands or artists and I have never bought any records of them or will do. It's all about opinions, I don't think the three mentioned are good bands at all, but they sell millions of records, so there must be people who do think they're quality bands.
  8. A tired team showed against Villa and I expect the same on Monday. A sloppy game, with plenty of mis-placed passes. Rovers 1 - 2 Charlton 22.752
  9. On Goals on Sunday after the Newcastle game with Chris Kamara. Kamara worked out from the amount of stoppages that was in the game that the total amount of injury time was 8 Minutes and two seconds.
  10. I'd agree with all that. Point 3 stands out than the others. We did look a tired team compared to Villa, who had pace up front and on the flank with Solano. We hardly played well for long spells of the game, apart from a brief spell in the first half when Nissa was unlucky and for a short period in the second half. Villa dominated the second half and created a lot more than we did. Solano should have been marked, especially from a corner which is the most dissapointing thing. Hughes blames loss on tiredness Dickov worked his socks off but needs in my opinion a better striker to play alongside with. I'm not slagging off Stead here, but in my opinion at the moment Stead isn't doing it. What is worrying me is the size of the squad. The team did look tired and another home game can't be good for some. I'm expecting a few injuries in the next few weeks and it's up to Hughes now to strenghten our squad which will decide our season in the next month.
  11. Same here. After the Newcastle game when Souness was interviewed he had something about him suggesting buying clubs' best players, I couldn't help thinking he was after Barry. Newcastle agree deal for Boumsong Just found this. Blues accuse Rovers over Savage
  12. But with Savage, he can pick a pass out, run around all game with pace and score. Savages' profile He's never been known for his goalscoring. 24 goals in ten seasons. Bet Flitty's done that. Over did Savage's goal-scoring ability. But compared to Flitcroft in recent games, could Flitty do what Savage has done? Savage played in a brilliant cross for Heskey to score, I think, on Boxing Day at home to Boro. Could Flitty score a goal like Savage did on Tuesday at Fulham? All I'm saying is, that I'd rather have Savage over Flitcroft becaus, generally he's a lot quicker and that his final pass/delivery is a lot better than Flitty's in my opinion.
  13. Aston Villa 2 - 2 Rovers Cole - Dickov Hendrie - Stead Going for the same score-draw as we saw at Ewood earlier on in the season. Aston Villa v Blackburn
  14. But, wherever he has played he has always given 100% to that club. With Hughes it seems he wants battlers in his team. Savage is a battler and would be great for Ferguson in the centre of midfield. Savage is like Flitty, gets stuck in and puts himself about. But with Savage, he can pick a pass out, run around all game with pace and score. Savage pleads for Rovers move
  15. I agree with that. We can't afford a big named striker who has proven himself at the top level. I can't see Ipswich letting Bent go as they're pushing for automatic promotion. Out of the three that Hughesy has mentioned I'd go for Ashton. It'd be a gamble, but Ashton scores reguarly for Crewe. He's big and has the ability to create a threat aerially. Sav reveals family woe Only a matter of time.
  16. Brilliant result for us yesterday. Thought that every player for us and in recent games gave everything for the team. Todd and Johansson were outstanding yet again. Being under pressure for most of the second half was always going to be a test for us, at times I was worried that we weren't getting forward quickly enough on the counter attack to clinch a second. Reid should have done anyhow. Everyone from the front two to the goalkeeper worked hard and did their job. Stead was very unlucky with his header and is showing glimpses of getting more and more confident in front of goal. Dickov once again was brilliant, never stopped working and his goal was a striker playing with confidence, I'd never thought I would say this but Dickov's goals come May, could well keep us up. Sorry to spoil the festive mood and that, but we've still only won three games all season. We need to start turning these draws into wins, but at least we've managed to create a gap between ourselves and the bottom three. A nice way to end 2004, let's hope we start 2005 nicely at Villa on Saturday. Bolton 0-1 Blackburn Rovers performance pleases Hughes
  17. I've just seen it on the news, first time I've actually seen from television what has actually gone on, can't quite believe it. The amount known to have died is well over 50,000. Quake prompts massive aid effort
  18. Totally agree with you. The ending seemed to me that they wanted to get the game released a.s.a.p and the ending of it was rushed and poor. But, overall a top game and I really enjoyed playing it. I've become even sad enough now to start playing GTA 3 again.
  19. Rovers were given 3000 tickets in total. 1000 being on the lower and 2000 on the upper. On the official site, the lower tier is sold out, but the upper tier isn't sold out. I'm not surprised as the price for an adult on the upper tier is £35.
  20. Bolton 1 - 2 Rovers Just have a sneaky feeling. Lately Rovers have been playing well with lots of spirit in the team. Last minute anyone? Bolton v Blackburn
  21. Brilliant game to watch yesterday. Thought we were unlucky in some aspects. But again our defending cost us I thought. Dyer wasn't offside, well timed run and a good finish. Thought Ferguson in midfield did really well against Dyer and Jenas. Flitty was average, he did well yesterday when we needed somebody to get stuck in, but his passing and shooting at times is worse than Lucas Neill's. Ferguson particuarly, never stopped running, trying to create, tracking back. One of his better games in a Rovers shirts. Lots of spirit and fight in the team. I thought Dickov had another decent game. Good movement to allow Ferguson to thread the ball through for the first equaliser. Alan75 - Dickov, for me has been good for us this season. He does work hard and may not be the best striker at the moment but at times, I wonder where we might be without him. He's scored goals, won penalties and is a constant nuisance to the opposition. Overall a good performance. But, I'll echo what a few people have already said in that we need to turn these draws into games. Two wins all season is not good enough, even though we are producing good performances we still can't win. With games in the second half of the season against Chelsea, Arsenal and the rest, it could be a tense battle at the bottom. A win tomorrow would be nice
  22. Rovers 3 - 3 Newcastle Entertaining draw in an open game. With the Souness and what reception he'll get, I probably end up giving him a bit of stick. Yes, he did give us some good memories, winning a trophy, finishing sixth and a brief spell in the UEFA Cup. But the sour memories will always stick in my mind.
  23. According to the official site there are still tickets in the Upper Tier available.
  24. I would have taken a point before the game but now I'm slightly dissapointed that we didn't take all three. We matched Everton all game, either we played well or they were very poor. The game yesterday left me with confidence going into the games at Xmas, I still think it could be a struggle for the rest of the season unless we bring in a forward with pace and can score first time. A defender also with pace would be useful. Next week I'd start with Gallagher. The few minutes that he did play was pointless, apart from his dis-allowed goal, but he should have been thrown on with half n hour to go rather than a few minutes. Blackburn 0-0 Everton
