  1. I'd rather we sign a quality CB on loan from a top flight team, rather than an average one permanently. I really don't get the posters who scoff at us making loan signings, we have made many good loan signings into permanent deals over the years. People need to live in the here and now, the only aim must be promotion. Villa, Wolves and Watford etc. signed quality loan players to aid a promotion push, that's the key - quality. I really do like the suggestions of Hanley or Dann. We need experience and leadership and it would help with them knowing the club and its 'quirks' .
  2. Yeah, that was a good moment witb lots of us behind him but there dedinitely are loads against too. For many, he certainly doesn't have a clean slate on this site. As this thread has shown.
  3. I think they are investing in Brereton and Gallagher. If both can score 12/13 goals a season + then their value will really shoot up - such is this crazy transfer market. I hope people give Brereton a clean slate this season, particularly at Ewood. In my opinion, his last two appearances (in his actual position) have shown him to have something about him (which he failed to show before) and he will benefit from having Rothwell in the side - who makes defenders cack themselves and leave space. Too often over the years certain types of our 'supporters' quickly and very vocally get on the back of our young talented players and it doesn't help in the slightest. Never has, never will.
  4. Samuel nearly fit again. I think he'll soon be 1st choice for the right sided square peg in a round hole position.
  5. It's all very strange isn't it? There's no mention of his progress or anything these days. Insurance must be footing the bill
  6. Chins up lads and lasses, Gladwin will be like a new signing for us too ?
  7. I'm a massive fan of him and like you say, could be a massive player if fit.
  8. I criticise them both. Their failings are similar - both lack a pair of nads and fail to play to our obvious strengths, instead they set up simply not to lose against mediocre opposition. I think you are very harsh downplaying the achievement of promotion from League One btw. There have been plenty bigger and more expensive failures than our success. Also, whenever it happens, the acquisition of Dack was very shrewd and when we sell him, it will be for a massive profit.
  9. Anyone who had Robinson, Rhodes, Gestede, Marshall, Conway, Cairney, Hanley, Duffy, King and Olsson at their disposal and didn't make the play offs, is not a good manager or good with tactics.
  10. Hopefully that spurs us into life and we sign an experienced CB. It would make a real difference.
  11. It doesn't offend me in the slightest, so I wouldn't feel the need to question your character. If you read back your initial response to me though, I hope you can see my point re the accusation of hypocrisy. Thanks for the sensible reply though - you are a gentleman.
  12. We don't know he's a dud yet. He's a bit of a kid who's had a handful of starts and needs to be played in his favoured position, not as a substituted fake wide midfielder. Do I trust Mowbray? To be honest, not entirely. He seems to skirt past the blatantly obvious in favour of mundane midfielders or square pegs in round holes. Regardless, he's our best manager since Big Sam...which is quite damning on the others.
  13. In all honesty, that's very rich coming from you.
  14. It made sense regarding some 'rash' decision making.
  15. I thought you were old enough and wise enough to know that this is nothing to panic about? How often do we do key business later in the summer?
  16. Sorry, no but previous rumours and subsequent high-profile events really cemented what I was told. I'd second that bet. No relegation for us this season and we have some good midfield talent in Chapman, Rothwell and Downing should ping a few crosses in.
  17. The Derby one? No, he's gone.
  18. No. But if what I was told is accurate, things, quotes and events make a lot of sense.
  19. Bit harsh. I'm led to believe on very good authority that when they took over, they uncovered a hell of a lot of money going to places that it shouldn't have and allegedly, it pointed one way. The reason why they had two accounting firms running the rule over the books 18months ago (ish) was to make sure that was no longer happening, which it wasn't. The trust issues work both ways I suppose.
  20. There's an increasing lack of patience when it comes to signings. Too many supporters (supposed grown men ?) from a whole host of clubs hold on to the balls of the ITK people but simply can't hack it when things 'drag' on or fall through. There's loads of time left this window and things always used to happen late July and early August (even in the days when you had to check the paper or teletext). It's really not worth arguing or stressing over - save that for when Smallwood is first choice CB and Bennett RB three games in.
  21. Nah. The guy who left's distribution was nothing short of dogshit ?
