I think the key to things dragging on is the agents wanting their huge slices for being gatekeepers. At least our main targets also seem to be digging their heels in and haven't gone elsewhere YET. Rest assured, agents are hogs around a trough and they'll be pushing deals through this week because they'll want something rather than nothing.

Absolutely. Nothing at all like 91/92 that one was darker, had post-maternal stretch marks all over and was partnered by shorts that your balls would pop out of if you weren't wearing briefs or budgie smugglers.

I'm not going to lie, I know absolutely nothing about either of the signings we've made and I'm just going to judge them on how they play - it worked last season ?
-
I'm pretty sure there was a "Blackburn's 50m Warchest" page filler.

Hasn't Payne been replaced by one of the new signings? Someone has to drop to the bench.

It is a modern day take on Lord of the Flies.

Hang fire on that one ?

It's insane the amount of money being spent on bang average players. If I was the owner and it was was my money, to be honest I wouldn't want millions into the hands of agents and average Joe's either. Needless to say, the mainstream media inspired public will be far more appalled at the 'pay rise' that public sector workers are getting. Also, our low gates are affecting our transfer budgets too. If we can get higher gates, we could potentially have a better budget. In addition, a higher income means less of a threat of FFP. It is all without a doubt Venkys' mess, but staying away from Ewood, not buying merchandise etc. punishes and pins the club down harder (I detach the 'club' from the owners as best I can) towards a non-competitive level and arguably, if that is what a supporter is doing - why are they surprised that we are scraping the barrell, wasn't that part of the NAPM plan? Time seems to be showing that boycotting in the hope that the Rao's will simply go away isn't working and maybe the theory that they'll only go when they have a much more saleable asset is more realistic. Do we do whatever we can to improve the chances of the club?? Undoubtedly, the club itself needs the Rovers supporters and as many as we can get through the door as possible. Failing that, I see the only other viable option is to sell our better players - again.

Nobody with that first name should be allowed back at Rovers. Ever.

More likely Birdy, topless in front of his sink ?
-
Maybe we are being mindful that we don't buy any more Whittinghams, Gladwins or Caddis' ? Certainly the latter two made the starting eleven worse.

Interesting that the argument of 'the halves are the wrong way around' is incorrect and that this kit is actually the more accurate design and colour. Personally, my favourite is the Princes Trust design, colour and layout.

True but unfortunately, that's where we find ourselves these days. I'd rather be paying heftier wages for a younger class player than someone like Murphy who was here topping up his retirement fund. I'm certain the squad will be added to and with our lack of money, I've always suspected it would be via loaning. Hopefully, Armstrong and Chapman are fond of the club and are digging there heels in for a return here. We need pace in the side and players who want to play here - they fit the bill. We might be relying on some Mulgrew free kicks until the end of September though ?

I'd rather we got quality long term loans than average permanent signings. We need to blood some of the u23's too. It seems that run of the mill players are worth ridiculous amounts these days, so there's money to be made promoting the youth players.
-
Absolute shite. A primary school kid could design better than that betting logo.
-
Surprise being, we'll be playing skins next season.

I personally feel that the squad is much better. No journeyman at all. Only people who have proved that they play for the shirt. Above all, Coyle was the defining factor of our relegation. Thank God he'll be someone else's problem.

I keep seeing this 'we are a League One squad' being banded about. We were way too good for League One; that's why we amassed nearly 100 points. Chapman (who I want) barely started and then didn't feature for months. Antonsson was generally poor but had a purple patch of goalscoring before long-term injury and losing his place. Armstrong (who took over from Antonsson) made a heck of a difference before his form tailed off at the end of the season (I would like to add him though). There's plenty of time to get the Chapman and Armstrong deals signed and I have absolutely no doubt that we will add quality via loans. Regardless, the squad, the attitude and everything Blackburn Rovers is in much better shape than when we were relegated. I see any additions as pushing us towards the play offs, rather than just keeping us out of the relegation places.

They didn't get very far.
-
Nonsense. Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, even Netherlands, Italy etc. got nowhere because they were shite. I'm gutted. We didn't seize the chance. It was great to love the national side again though.

The stats and facts say Rhodes' goals dried up and he's been unwanted at his last two clubs. Hanley played a few games for Newcastle and was dropped. Marshall was on loan at Millwall whilst his parent club got promoted. King and Cairney on the other hand...
-
Each and every one of them thought they were going on to much bigger and better things. They can't be happy with how their careers have panned out.
-
24?? He must have that Benjamin Button disease.

What AR is missing is that in recent years Greece, Italy and Portugal have won major tournaments with steady sides. You don't have to be amazing to win tournaments, just out-do what's in front of you.

I think that due to us not being a hoofing side, there's a very strong chance of a couple of very decent loan signings. We will have to wait until late in the window though.
