  1. I know we aren’t going to be getting anyone if any real proper calibre. But I can’t help think with Rowett (if he does get the job) whether these are his type of players. The teams he’s had he’s had physical sides. I just look at these players and I’m not sure they fit his profile. Let’s see. Tough task for anyone tbf, squads poor.
  2. if we are going to be hiring people of no proper glamorous championship background, then Id personally like damian duff. Listening to him speak you can tell hes got a bit about him manager wise, and hes won a league albeit in Ireland, but least hes done something. I believe hes now part of keith andrews staff at brentford atm. Compared to all the other names id say hes on par with most, and if i have to put up with a mediocre unproven manager, id rather it was someone i loved as a player for rovers thats at least had some small success as a manager so far.
  3. my score prediction, feeling a heavy 4-0 defeat with a early norwich goal. Hope im wrong! I feel away from home id go 352, we seemed to pick up points in 352 when alebiousu is available. if i could pick, id go: toth miller Carter Cashin alebiousu tronstad forshaw morishita baraji Jorgensen Gudjohnsen
  4. dreadful playing at home and we cant break a team down that sits in... First goal will be huge if any team gets it. Couldnt guess an 11, couldnt even think what he would pick, And i dont even have an 11 id want to pick from our bunch 😂 my score predictionS: 1-0 us 0-0 1-0 loss
  5. you imagine gested will be picking someone he knows from his playing days or whose in in his agents circle. I doubt it will be a long process either, probably already lined up. Who ever it is its been needed it just needs a new face to try and give it a go. Personally I think were going down doesnt matter who has a go, but someone to come in with a fresh idea is needed, even if its the tea lady.
  6. I reckon a similar performance to watford. Score draw I reckon, unless hull take their chances. Just cant see when a win will come. I dont even see us beating sheff wednesday on the tuesday. Who knows... could be 6 points better off in a week, doubt it though. If I could pick from whats available Id go: Miller McLoughLin Cashin Alebiouso Tronstad Forshaw Morishita Cantwell Baraji Jorgensen
  7. im 22 minutes through the first half of the watford match... we are getting absolutely battered. There all over us. We cant pass, we cant out sprint, we cant out muscle. We cant win in the air. Luckily were not 3-0 down before they actually scored. They had full backs getting forward, they had movements, they had dangerous crosses, they had corners. We did... nothing... we just ran around like kids football. Men v boys. Not sure I can carry on watching it. The amount of times we give the ball to our cbs from the gk and we look clueless to get the ball forward, we just give it away. I cant count more than 3 passes... I do think we need to be signing a- striker thats good at holding it up and in the air. Because sometimes it needs to go long when we cant work it forward. Need a bully of a striker and a left wing back/ left back/left winger, able to get up and down. At the very least!
  8. hows the weather up their? Wouldnt be surprised to see rovers get it called off if lots of rain to scupper the boycott efforts. Im not attending, Im not making the long drive up,. If I was Val Think you need to go back to what any experience you have and try to play to whatever strengths we might have. If I could pick form current available, think id go: Toth Pickering Oriodran McLoughin Ribeiro Forshaw Tronstad Yuki Baraji cantwell(would tell cantwell hes playing) jorgensen
  9. The lack of ideas and quality is a painful watch. Even at 1-1 at ht if felt like watching a non league side. I can probably count on 1 hand the amount of succeeded passes. My opinion on it: Toth - got to be claiming the first goal, its being headed cleared at 2 yards out. Also you can see hes struggling with his knee now and again (Still better than pears with one leg). Archeson - can put his body on the line but with the ball at his feet nowhere near comfortable enough. Young needs a loan. Oriordan - hes better than Mclloughlin and needs to start every game. McLoughlin - so poor, not the best at playing out, loses it 50% of the time. Hinckman - 1/10, hes is never in a million years a right wing back and ive no idea how he lasted 90 mins there. Not sure he made a succesful pass, just clipped it to nobody or passed the ball back to swansea, dreadful decision making through out. Powell - too lightweight and not ready. Good set up for the goal, but wind could blow him over. Too early for him for me. Tronstad - easily MOM. Needs help. Baraji - Tried, but in this formation i feel for him and tronstad because it kids football stuff everyone just chasing all over the place with massive gaps. Doherty - Shows nice touches on it, but a little non existent, again to early for him probably, maybe better having minutes here and there. I think their 3rd goal which came form a corner was a result of him giving it away twice in succession on swansea 18 yard box. New Signing up front - off that 1 showing not up to speed. Good poachers goal, but all round play looked off the pace. Games hopefully improve him. Looks like he needs minutes. Yuki - 1/10. Apart from running he offers absolutely nothing. Cant hold it up, hes weak, hes slow, and makes too many wrong decisions. I will say he probably needs a rest due to the amount hes played. De neve - should never play left wing back, or anywhere for that matter. Needs releasing, hes only ever looked ok once playing left wing being direct and crossing, but for this level, nowhere near it. Manager - should get the sack. Has no tactical ability. He cant seem to have a plan B. And Plan A almost seems like watching kids football. We can all sit and say injuries are a problem which they are, but for me when I watch us we seem to just be sprinting all over the pitch, theres never a hold of defensive shape, or traps set, its just a you need to sprint to that player as soon as possible, its literally just like watching kids football with no shape or plan to what their doing. Its just kick and charge football. You cant expect players to do this every week and not rotate, which he never was doing in the first place. Injuries for me are on his poor lack of playing style running like headless chickens and lack of rotation. The whole situation for me is totally on him.
  10. Im in no way trying to dig you out here.. but have you seen him play ? I am on the cautious side as i no nothing about him, and my head feels like it will be another henrikson. But heres hoping it he will be good. At least someone is in the door.
  11. sadly i feel the mostly likely positive result we might get would be 0-0. Maybe we can score 1?... But if we are to score or score more than 1, you feel it would need things like a penalty, own goal or red cards to swing in our favour. Until we get some strikers in the door, I just dont see any goals from anywhere. Can see us in the bottom 3 by at least the end of feb. Personally I think if we have no new additions or nobody back from injury, I think Id shove 1 of the CBs up top with Yuki, Samba esc jobby and try and play off knock downs, something different while we have zero options.
  12. Looking at that list you imagine the following will be in the bracket of potentially being sold or loaned out to make room: Carter - never available Pratt - would be harsh but hes 22 and i fear they may sacrifice him to go out on loan Pickering /ribeiro Hedges - due to injury Gueye - going to go Kargbo - doesnt fit in the system
  13. alot of frustration around where i sat in the crowd last night (rightly so I know). But I heard one guy say we should win like 5-0.... come on, we are 17th... We dont score many from set pieces, and bar cantwell and maybe yuki nobody else realistically is a goalscorer, and even cantwell and yuki are barely goalscorers on their rovers records. I told my misses on the way up last night "are you ready for a 0-0 draw" (driving 3.5 hours up knowing what we were probably in for). I was gitted like everyone but hardly surpsied at the result. Ive no idea when our next goal may come tbf, without Gudjohnsen, we havent exactly got the group of players thats going to score 3 goals in a game, and scoring 1 doesnt even look that likely. Yuki is the type of player if you gave him 10 one on ones, you wouldn't be surprised if he only scored 1. Also Cantwell was getting a bit of abuse around me to, and I watch and think hes the only person that can do anything with the football, he cant do it all, were asking him to be dropping deep and then be in the 10 position. Others around him have to step up but there aren't exactly goals going to be flooding from whats available. Going to be a painful watch until we\if get some forwards in. You can maybe try and give the players ideas on a training pitch but sometimes when you've got certain players that aren't exactly attacking players its going to be difficult. Players that aren't scorers: Miller, Mcloughlin, Pratt, Litherland, Hedges, tronstad, Baraji, then your relying on 3 players to create something; henriksen (who is playing out of position, not played championship football), Yuki(not prolific), cantwell(has not been prolific for us since joining bar penalties). Sheff weds drew to hull at the weekend, we have no divine right to go and win 5-0. We had 3 or 4 alright chances last night and didnt take them, and if your only creating that many real chances with a group that aren't prolific i wouldnt be surprised we've drawn 0-0. Hopefully we can work on some more set pieces because when you aren't great at scoring in open play they are the get out of jail cards. Sadly id take a draw against wrexham, cant see us scoring more than 1 saturday, and i can see them scoring at least 1.
  14. seeing Millwall having a bit of an injury crisis, im going to try and be positive and say a score draw or maybe a sneaky win. Im going to predict we dont lose. if i could pick an 11 thats currently fit id go: pears miller McLoughlin Pratt morishita baraji tronstad pickering cantwell yuki Gudjohnsen
  15. I do wonder if anything will affect the venkys.. 15 years and not really a word from them. I do sometimes wonder as well with the bizarre decision makings we've seen down the last 15 years whether we are still being run by Z agent, and Venkys is just a name to cover it up.. Protests have happened before and they just stay silent. I am in no way discouraging the protest idea or anything im just voicing a feeling that i feel they dont seem to give a damn, which is just so odd and fishy. Some of the decisions we've witnessed over these 15 years have been sporadic, and sometimes absolutely nuts, where it just makes no sense ever. Sometimes it also feels like deliberate sabotage. I do sometimes get the feeling does this make a certain company or person something beneficial out of us (rather than this being solely a venkys ownership), it never ever feels like the end goal should be promotion or successful results, everything just never adds up and always seems fishy. I know something must be done, I just have that feeling that whatever does happen Venkys wont care or respond like they usually do. Also attendances are already dire, just not sure anything more will look too obvious as it already looks empty most the time. I suppose we can not give up, and the show goes on, we all care the football club and all want the same goal. Just hope we get some hope we deserve sooner or later.
