  1. Really thought when Carter was out we were in massive trouble but Batth and Hyam have been absolutely faultless. Neither are the quickest but we haven't had to play that deep either. Been really impressed.
  2. Well it was a £100k not £100... Still small beer for one of the best ever Premier League keepers
  3. Id always have a full ground, just makes it a better occasion imo.
  4. What feels good about it is the defence is so solid. Unlike JDT ball (which I really liked) where wed hang the defence out to dry to get three players overlapping in the channels with this it feels like we can both win by playing well but also fall back on grinding it out. We haven't had a manager who could properly set us up defensively in such a long time. I do quite fancy us this year, really need that proven striker in Jan though.
  5. Id say the centre mid three of Cantwell, Tronstad and Travis is probably the best we've had since we dropped to the Championship. Its really nicely balanced, very competitive with quality on the ball (obviously Cantwell, but Travis creative side is totally transformed too). I reckon its probably the best centre midfield unit outside the parachute teams, and if you can control the middle of the park you always have a chance. Defence and keeper look so much more comfortable under Eustace too. Everyone knows their role and no one is left exposed as was routinely the case under JDT. Just need more quality out wide and up front and Id fancy us to do really well.
  6. They replayed all the highlights and still didnt notice! Bet Boros fans are going absolutely mental... ,😂
  7. Are you guys playing by different rules in Scandinavia? If you pass forwards and at the moment the pass is played the receiver is beyond the defender that is always offside.
  8. Hilarious that the commentators on Sky haven't even realised its offside yet.
  9. Eustace really knows what hes doing.... Best Ive seen us defensively organised since Allerdyce.
  10. Been really impressed with Cantwell off the ball. Usually creative number 10s dont offer that much defensively but he works really hard dropping in. Doesn't come across at all as the sort of primadonna that his reputation suggests.
  11. I mean that was incredibly offside, the lineman was looking straight at him! Still Ill take it.
  12. I think that we didnt play last weekend changes things a bit. More focussed. Usually we are so sloppy mid week but we look a lot more on it.
  13. I think Rangers have big cash problems atm, think they sold Cantwell for a cut down fee just to get him off the books. Dont think they will have much to spend. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-money-17million-loss-uncovered-33996261.amp
  14. Hmmm that we didn't play at the weekend gives me hope. Should be better rested and very focused on getting a result.
  15. Seems to me that it's likely we just didnt cover the pitch....
  16. Wow didnt know that... So the more tv and early kick offs haven't impacted home crowds? Just away fans?
  17. Not to defend anyone but isn't the drop in attendances compared to last season pretty much all down to the new sky tv deal and the daft kick off times?
  18. Duru getting games for US under 20 is pretty impressive
  19. Doesn't do anything like enough off the ball for me.. total passenger. Cantwell despite being technically better than Sigurdsson also works nuts off out of possession .Arnor could learn a thing or two.
  20. Well Bells promotion and many games in the Premier League would quibble with that... Like quite a few players in recent times we didnt get the best out of him.
  21. Unpopular opinion but the Nations League has been a good innovation as it creates competitive games against similar opposition instead of friendlies. But for it to make sense they also need to cut the daft qualifier games against San Merino etc. Just use the Nations League for qualifying and get rid of the qualifiers completely imo.
  22. Beck as left winger is an interesting thought. Hes got a great engine and a bit of quality, but he is really a "bomber" who loves running from deep. His starting position in midfield might not really suit him. But he would definitely give us a lot more width and crossing ability than Hedges, and I think he would be able to match Hedges work rate and robustness off the ball. Id be tempted to give it a go. What is clear to me is despite Pickerings detractors Harry gives a lot of quality on the ball in the build up. Id hesitate to drop him again.
  23. I'd be surprised if we dropped Wiemann after he just scored two excellent goals. I imagine it will be an identical team to against Cardiff, the only player I could see possibly swapped out is Hedges for ACD or maybe Beck. But if I was a betting man I would go for an identical XI. I always think you are well set in a game if you can dominate the midfield and I can see Travis, Tronstad and Cantwell being a really really effective trio. They should only improve as they get more and more used to playing with one another.
