  1. Preston were all over us last 15 mins but thought most of the second half we were completely in control.
  2. Id say he js our number 2 shithouse after Trav.
  3. Not in any way intentional but I guess the way the rules have evolved you are expected to not endanger an opponent. It was very dangerous... Would be interesting to hear.arbitiro's view as a former ref
  4. Rovers Icelandic fans according to the sky commentary
  5. Have we hired an arsenal style set piece coach or something? Our corners after years of being shit have suddenly been a lot better recently.
  6. Really want to see something from Cantwell here
  7. Him and Buckley have bossed it. They work well as a pair.
  8. Terrible final ball but hes put a massive shift in
  9. Gueye's genuine quality... Pretty sure in a year or so hes going to be worth a lot of money...
  10. I think im pretty okay with everything about how we play except our dreadful finishing.
  11. Watched the Bristol game back and while we created a decent amount of chances I'm not that convinced by the three at the back, seemed very vulnerable down the flanks - don't think Hyam and Sanderson have the mobility required in the wide CB role. I would probably go back to the 4231. Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Beck Travis Buckley Dolan Cantwell Weiman Gueye I am hoping a week out and a bit of self reflection and we will see a better version of Cantwell. We really need to win this one.
  12. Watched the game back... thought it was a very even game, should have been a point a piece probably. Both defenses looked pretty dodgy, and not a lot of quality in midfield or up front from either side. Not sure I'd stick with the three at the back as we looked more vulnerable. Main positive is given the injuries and fatigue I expected us to get hammered so to be edged out was better than that. And the set pieces seem to be improving. I think looking to play it deep and then heading back across goal is causing some big issues for the opposition defence. Need to keep working on that.
  13. We will be relatively well rested, not actually been playing that badly, at home, and will have Travis back so we really have to and should expect to win this one. If we dont we've got big problems.
  14. Never say never... look at Hirst, Telelovic etc. Wouldn't mind seeing him getting a crack partnering Gueye up top. Classic little and large! But obviously just a curiosity, not relevant to who we need to sign now!
  15. With Hirst and Telelovic we seem to have not been able to get the best out of them... Pretty rare for that to happen at Rovers but both looked absolutely awful for us, but have gone on well. Remember Kalinic another who had a fantastic career post rovers after looking mediocre for us.
  16. Personally i prefer that he isnt a supporter as he gives a bit of an outside view. Theres plenty of fan content out there, not least on here, for that.
  17. He gets a lot of heat on here but I like Elliot a lot. Does decent reporting and has a good podcast. We could do a lot worse.
  18. Even with the injuries we have Id look at just giving Leonard a go in a two with Gueye. Also ineffective but not much different from what Cantwell is achieving. Maybe bringing him on later would help him focus his game more.
  19. I think he needs dropping, and Eustace to have a long chat with him about simplifying his game. He needs to take many fewer touches on the ball and focus on how to get into good positions off the ball. On the positive side these are relatively easy things to fix if he is receptive to doing so.
  20. Not really how the Championship works imo, anyone can put a run together and get back up the table. We're still well in it if we can regroup. I have more faith in Eustace to do that than any manager we have had in the Championship.
  21. Id say the way to look at it is how many of our players cause the opposition issues. I would say only Gueye, Ohashi and Travis reliably get the opposition on the back foot. We need two more by Jan 31st who can do that. Add a couple of players who can stretch the other team and everyone elses performance will improve hugely from the space theyll get. Cantwell, Dolan, Brittain, ACD, Weiman can become good offensive weapons if they have room but they are not going to make it for themselves. Id go all out for a striker to partner Gueye and finish off, and someone who can get in behind out wide and has good delivery.
  22. I think we can accept that Bristol City is as close to a nailed on loss as you get in the Championship. I'd never normally do this but I would seriously think about putting the kids in with the few seniors who have not had much game time (Sanderson, Buckley, Forshaw) and giving everyone else a rest. The key is then who we can get back fit by 31st January for 5 games in two weeks. If we have even some of Travis, Tronstad, Ohashi, Carter, Pickering back, plus a couple of signings we could get back into the driving seat.
  23. Um by having a brilliant game unfortunately let down by everyone else? Really struggle to see how anyone wouldn't have thought he was our best player by miles...
  24. Thought JB and JRC bossed the game till 40 mins. Then weak conceded goal (admittedly JRCs fault), Brittain injured and JRC moved to right back. Things declined substantially from that point.
