In a straight choice I am sure given their comparative records 95% of people would choose Armstrong over Dennis. Since 2018 Armstrong has 70 odd Championship goals in 130 appearances. He's one of the great recent scorers at this level and still only 27.

To be honest we could go back to one of your posts on September 1st which would have said much the same, relegation yada yada, but we currently sit in 5th. The ability for supporters to predict how players turn out is very poor. We were all excited by Sigurdsson and then he was terrible. Underwhelmed by Baath but hes been fantastic. None of us really know how they will pan out as signings. Waiting and seeing is the only thing we can do. We'll have a better view end of Feb once we have seen them play.

Dolans gone, no way we keep him. Hes decided to prioritise getting a sign on bonus somewhere. As much as he is maligned on here I am sure he will get a big pay day at a Championship club. Everyone else we have a chance of signing, but we have this culture now of players running down their contracts so I wonder if Hyam, Travis, Brittian will all target doing the same. If we dont get them signed by the summer I am sure they will all be off for nothing.

I would say a relatively good window by our poor January standards but unfortunately everyone around us seems to have had a stormer. Hope Dennis and Woodrow can show their best historical form rather than the last couple of years. Big ask given they have played so little football.

I think the issue we have is Gueye is obviously more of a number 10 in terms of where he wants to play and make the most damage. He isnt going to play on the last mans shoulder, he's going to drop off into the number 10 area. And when he does hes brilliant at winning everything, laying off, and has a decent pass as well. He also will get into the box late to get on things What that means is we need players to get past him and stretch the play.... But unfortunately everyone we have loves coming short except Ohashi and hopefully kagbo.

Is Yuri Ribeiro a perm or a loan? Not clear from what I have read? Considering we have pulled that one out of nowhere seems a pretty good shout.

Defo not convinced by putting Cantwell back in... Think I would actually put in a third midfielder. But Eustace has been very loyal to him and he scored a great penalty, so Im sure he will start. Hope he can find a way to make more of a contribution. If I was Eustace I would be getting him to work on his position relative to Geuye all the time. He needs to get into the box.

I really want Leonard to be a solid Championship forward but I haven't seen anything about him to suggest that. Even with Gueye who draws all the focus of the defence Leonard just hasn't really done anything incisive to hurt the opposition, let alone look like scoring regularly. The few goals he got a more reactive types to a fortunate bounce or loose ball rather than him doing much for them. I agree he hasnt got the pace or skill to beat players so he going to need to bulk up and focus on his movement and finishing.

Got lost in the two and fro of the game but did enjoy this one... Nothing came of this one specifically, but something has improved as generally the last few games every time we get a corner we get our head on it. Corners have always been dreadful for us, long may this uptick continue! And the choreography puts a smile on my face. Love the whirlpool one too!

To be fair to pickering he has been excellent this season also. Totally different type of full back though... Hes more about making a three with the centre backs or inverting into the midfield. Will be great when we have him back, lots of options.

Surely a striker is our number one priority, we need someone who is all about goals more than anything else imo.

Id take Dolan over Cantwell. Dolan is so frustrating but at least can sometimes beat his man, puts in the odd good ball, and works his nuts off. Cantwell i am just so confused about what he offers. With Gueye looking to come short and Cantwell having no desire to get beyond Big Mak they are really poorly matched as a pair. Feels to me like Cantwell isnt going to work out. Id almost look to see if we could convert him to a centre mid as he works against us in that number 10 role slowing the game down and showing very little offensive movement. But i don't think hes got the discipline for centre mid either. Really struggling to see where Todd fits in.

Really hope he is a genuine pace merchant. Someone with pace getting on the end of Geyes flick ons and on the breaks we are pretty good at putting together could make a massive difference. Cantwell, Leonard, Dolan, Hedges and Wiemann just dont have the speed to make the most of our style.

Hes got a mistake in him, and had some real howlers in previous seasons, but I dont think Potts goal today can be blamed on him. Hes had a lot of games this season where he has made a lot of good saves. I certainly wouldn't be putting Toth in from what Ive seen. Not just me - think Pears average rating on here is pretty good this year.

Dunno... Travis has gone from a solid Championship performer to one of the very best midfielders in the division. Hyam and Pears also completely transformed.
