  8. The Girl From Ipanema - Stan Getz, , João Gilberto, Astrud Gilberto João Gilberto just passed away and is being called the father of Bossa Nova music. I did not realize Joao and Astrud were at the time, man and wife. BTW, if one is interested, "bossa nova pink floyd" at youtube is interesting. I know little of the Bossa Nova, it's acceptable from what I've heard.

  15. Tom Jones - She's A Woman BTW all, I hadn't thought of it, Tom Jones was scheduled to give a concert in Tel Aviv, Israel on June 28th, so Friday night. I assume it went on as scheduled. Tom Jones, okay, the guy is or was a "chick magnet", you know a guy looks at him and says "oh, songs for women", but his story is interesting, he got married at 16 in Wales and had his same wife until she passed on about 2 or 3 years ago. Yes, the guy was such a sex symbol that by his own admission, he was not totally faithful. In Wales in 1964, a man from London presented the song to him "It's not unusual", told him to go to London with it, that was fate. That's his trademark song and the rest is history so to speak. There are a few variations on the story, it's discussed here, sorry to go on like this, I found this info out myself recently, it's quite a story.:
