I love how the accents over the I in Benjamin and E in Brereton have appeared. He is a proper Chilean now. Me gusta Ben Grande.

Pienso que, tenemos un jugador especial aqui.

There are no such things as guarantees in football. We have come close to it though, as I am pretty sure that whilst these lot are in charge, we won’t get back to the prem and the debt will increase, year on year.

He is the sort of player, that could knuckle down and make a decent pro. Over the years, we have seen plenty of this sort of thing, our record goal scorer being one. Garner was almost sold, but he turned the move down, opting to stay and prove the doubters wrong. The rest is history. i wonder if Newcastle now regret letting Armstrong go? At least they had the sense, to insert a sell on clause, just in case their experts got it wrong, by selling him, for what now appears to be chicken feed.

Worst Rovers signing ever?

Perhaps he could be forgiven, for bringing in the Turkish Delight, but there were some very dodgy stories going around about some of his signings, allegedly. -
Summer transfer window 2021.

I agree and do think he will make a decent premier league player. -
I tend to agree and the perfect excuse is there now with FFP. Assuming we get the £20 million for Armstrong, after Newcastle have had their share, we would have around £12 million in there. Add the £2 million for Raya and that’s a decent amount. I see nothing coming back into the pot for strengthening and replacing Armstrong and the others, who have gone, so think Ambitions for the season, are going to be bleak.

Summer transfer window 2021.
lraC replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There have been a few good examples of this over the years, both at Rovers and elsewhere. Certain players are playing at a lower level then their talents deserve for whatever reason. Jordan Rhodes stepped up from league one and was a success for us and when you look at the step up Jamie arduous made, that was immense. I know someone, who played in the same Fleetwood side as Vardy, who said, way before his transfer to Leicester that he was special. There was another lad I remember, who played at Chorley, when they were way down the pyramid, called Lee Trundle. One of the directors there, told me he would be at least a good league one player and possibly higher, when he was about 18. -
I don’t see how we could, as without the proverbial to take a leak in, we had some great times and very near misses in the eighties. All down to people at the helmn, who cared and were open, some very shrewd management and players who at times, would sweat blood for the club. Yes there was the odd failed project, but I don’t ever remember feeling that there were chancers at the club, who were more intent on self preservation, than the long term good of the club.

It may well be wishful thinking on my part, or perhaps an unwillingness to accept that people can be so blind, to what has gone on.

It’s already being eluded to, by quite a few posts. The only way forward for OUR club is to somehow ensure Venkys no longer run it and influence it. Blackpool are the closest example of shocking owners to ours. Fortunately for them, from what I can gather, almost all of the fan base, wanted Oystons out. With Rovers, there does seem to be a fair percentage, who believe without their money we are in deep mire. Also although it may be a dwindling number, there are those who for whatever reason, think they were badly advised. As was the case with Blackpool, our current owners, are nothing, but trouble for the club. Whist they are here, most fans will wonder, what disaster will come about next. Right now, the latest disaster is keeping Mowbray. The previous one, was the relegation to league one, ably aided by the appointment of Coyle. The next one, could be another relegation. Somehow we need rid and it may well be that we end up rid of them, by going into admin and just like Bolton and Wigan, come out of the other side free of our hapless owners. I got one, would take that. Its criminal, that much smaller clubs like Accrington Stanley and Morecambe, look far more stable than us and the recent clubs with issues, such as Wigan, Blackpool, Bolton, Luton, Portsmouth and others, all now look to have a far brighter immediate future than us.
-
I loved Hird and was gutted when we sold him. I have never heard that he is a Burnley fan, although he did have a spell with them, late in his career, if my memory serves we well.
-
Carefully does it, as we aren't much better. one division now separates us and with a possible relegation fight next season, we could be joining them in league one soon. Nit to mention we are £200 million in debt and they settled theirs ( maybe in a dubious way) and started again.
-
This could well be next seasons journey. I actually think we have enough quality to still be able to survive in the division, after selling Armstrong, but of the decide to cash in on 3 or 4 more, then we are gone and won't come back that quickly next time. As for promotion, forget it.
-
The deafening silence that us mere mortals as fans get, means that last year, it could have been, let's spend and try to get the elusive promotion, but the aim, might now be to maintain the status quo if possible, and sell a few players to try to balance the books. Perhaps success for the future is keep the annual issue of shares below the £10m and ideally get it down to 1-2 million per year. With the rate these lot are going, our number of shares will out number the entire population if India, before the are finished.
-
It's still the usual problem, no one will succeed whilst Venky's own the club, no matter how good the are. Lambert was off like a shot, once he realised what they were all about and although he may not have been the answer, he certainly wasn't going to be messed about. Tony is happy to toe the line, hence their reluctance to part company with him.
-
I tend to agree that he is going nowhere, which is why the badly advised crew are still so wide of the mark, it is untrue. Assuming they still know the square root of FA about football, someone must have advised them that keeping him, is the way forward, yet I don't know of any poster on here, who thinks that is good advice. Yet again, they have someone advising them, who is more interested in their own agenda, than the long term good of the club.. Will they ever listen and will the club ever make any proper progress with these owners? Answers on a postcode, but don't bother sending it to India.

Until people, (who are hopefully now a shrinking amount), realise that they weren't badly advised at all and are in it for unknown reasons, that do not benefit the club in any way, then we are up against it. Just a statement, explaining their reasons for buying us and for continuing to large amounts of money, away with no plan, or method behind it, mighty be a start, as I know of not one fan, who understands all of this. As you correctly post, this is madness doing this over and over again, as another £x million will be added to the debt next season, rinse and repeat, until they achieve what exactly? -

They have been a total disaster and putting all that to the badly advised brigade, would need some explanation. -
I hope we aren’t in the middle of it, as another 10 years, will just about see me off.
-
I wonder who the current bad adviser is? It could be quite a lucrative position. Situations Vacant. Adviser required to ensure that foreign owners of U.K. sports club, continue to fail. Must be fluent in bullshit and excuses, with an ability to spot an opportunity for spouting crap, in the local press. Salary negotiable, but can be reviewed once targets of under achievement are met. Losses need to be maintained at least at the current level and applicant, must have the drive and ambition, to totally alienate the customer base.
-
They are just being badly advised and I am sure they will soon realise their mistakes.
-
He forgot to add, that it is the fans fault after all is said and done, as they hounded Myles out and made his Dad cry.
-
Carry on, as you are fully entitled to do so and I sincerely, hope you are correct.
