Suppose Rey is a nickname for Romeo, but it' also 'King' in spanish if I'm not mistaken. Promising name at least But I've also seen it like Rej, which probably doesn't mean king... so I don't know.

I'll be visiting some relatives near Halmstad in August, could have a word with him then And geographically it's popping "down" and not "up". Looking at a map facing the right way, that is. :safetywink:

Souness brought Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke and David Yelldell to the club. Surely this was done because he's a racist. After all, would a non-racist buy black players and make them the highest paid players at the club? Certainly not, this is the true trademark of a racist!!! SOUNESS OUT!!!
-
Scored a pretty good goal against, I think, Villa this season didn't he? Anyway, you can't keep a primarily defensive midfielder because he scores 3-4 goals a season. Ferguson can make good attacking runs too, and is probably a better finisher so we'll see some goals from him too.
-
Because the club is waiting for someone to come in for Yorke. Had the club released Cole on a free they'd probably have had to pay him his severance payment and maybe half his remaining wages. Same thing with Yorke, even if he doesn't have a severance payment and his wages are lower, it'll still cost a lot. As for Todd, Souness knows he can get at least some money, and he had been offered £250k already, so he's just waiting for a higher bid. If a higher bid doesn't come in, then I think he'll go for £250k.

Did you intentionally ignore the 10 others posts where this was already mentioned?

Now that's not good at all... I wouldn't be worried if it was someone else (Well, maybe Matteo) but it's not very encouraging. I just hope it's the other knee, or that it's simply bruised.

I believe it was reading PayPalSucks last year or so that convinced me never to open an account with them. Maybe I'd do it and connect it to an empty account that I transfer money to only when making a paypal payment, but then the whole Paypal thing isn't as quick and easy anymore -
I'd prefer Cole to Fowler, but Fowler does have the skill and goalscoring ability, he just somehow needs to find it again. Maybe it's his confidence or maybe it's lack of good coaching (Houllier doesn't exactly get the best out of his players, neither does Keegan) but I believe he can get back to his old self. Even if he's only halfway there he's a damn good player. And it's possible that City look to offload him cheaply just to get rid of his wages... hmm. I can't really think of that many possible targets available for £1-2m, as I can't imagine us spending any more than that unless we get some cash for Yorke, Cole, Todd and Flitcroft.

I still don't know where that £55k comes from. I remember seeing when he signed that he was on £35-40k per week, and I've seen that number a lot of the time. But ofcourse, in the tabloids they add 25% to every players salary so it's an easy mistake to make.

This is by far the best place on the 'net to get Rovers news, reactions etc. So I think it's well worth paying a few quid for. But I'm just a very poor 18 y/o student, so it won't be much. Will probably be sending a check though, as I'm not really sure how bank transfers work from abroad, and I really don't trust PayPal. But hopefully you'll see some money from me soon. And really good job on getting the boards back in good condition this fast. -
Has he been left out of the Germany trip, or is it just what the papers are saying?

Uhm NOONE is blaming sun for Hillsborough. They're simply very upset (and rightly so) about their coverage of the incident. Surely you can't have missed the point so gravely unintentionally? And I don't think they believed what they wrote was true. That's the whole point... had they recieved false reports about it, wrote the story and then apologized right when it turned out it was false things would've been different. Yes people would still be upset, but then it would've been a mistake and not simply an attempt to sell more copies. That being said, I'm personally boycotting every tabloid in every country. Regardless of whether they've been involved in an incident like this or not.
-
Damn these tabloids are full of crap. Hell, even "respectable" sites such as the BBC tend to write crap when it comes to Rovers, like how Andy Cole isn't likely to play a part in the team, he hasn't played since his fallout etc. No wonder people think that there's two bustups every week at Rovers, when they write about the same one for a month.
-
It's not like we've heard this proposed hundreds of times before Anyway.. he SHOULD work well in the centre, in theory. But the problem is that he hasn't played there, at least not for a long time
-
If the club would decide to SELL him, then that'd (IMO) be stupid but not unrealistic or a disaster. But to pay off a substantial part of his contract to let him go on a free transfer??? No way... I don't believe it. The tabloids are probably full of it as usual.

I'm not from Liverpool, I'm not from England nor am I related to anyone who is. And I don't particularly like Liverpool FC either. But I find The Suns behaviour to be disgraceful. I especially find this very ironic: "The misery being inflicted on Wayne Rooney is a crude effort by them to make commercial gain." And writing those stories in 1989 which they KNEW were lies wasn't just to make commercial gain? Writing this half-arsed apology (Which is only a couple of lines of apologies, and the rest is blaming others) isn't just to get more people to buy The Sun because of the Rooney story? Now, as I don't live in the UK and have never actually read the sun, apart from online articles, maybe you think I don't really have a valid opinion of the paper. Fair enough, but from what I've read it's a hell of a lot worse than the most horrible tabloids we have in Sweden. And I thoroughly despise those... I can't honestly believe how ANYONE can read such tripe as The Sun. Regardless of Hillsborough or not. Maybe it's because of the Page 3 girls, I don't know. But if that's what you want. there are many other magazines with much better girls anyway.

I didn't think the situation was all that similar. The greek player in this instance was moving away from the keeper, with no hands raised making contact with the keeper. I think that he simply misjudged the ball this time (Or didn't see Charisteas (sp?)), and realised it too late.
-
Yeah it's HIS fault he needs police protection, it has NOTHING to do with The Sun publishing his adress and phone number and urging people to threaten him The people doing it are all really nice people deep down inside. Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's a situation where you could both give or disallow the goal without either being really incorrect. That goal may well have been given in Britain or Scandinavia, but it would never have stood in Italy or Spain. And no interpretation is the "right" one. It doesn't matter where the game was invented btw... He made a split second judgement on an incident we get the luxury of seeing 100x in slow motion replays, he may have been wrong and he may have been right, but he certainly doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting. And the best team over 120 minutes won anyway. And beating up someonel just for being Swiss??? I bet the Sun are happy though, gives their campaign some more attention. Next they'll be going after anyone from a country starting with S.

[Archived] Chelski Transfer Madness

I believe the correct "Russianized" name for the Stamford Bridge club is Chelskov. -
Not a great ref in our game either Gutted, absolutely gutten. Why on earth Jakobsson (Excellent set piece taker, never nervous) didn't take one, I just can't understand. I know Holland had the better chances after 90 minutes, but we were SO close in extra time Larssons spin and shot onto the bar reminded me of Svenssons spin before hitting the post vs Senegal When he missed that I was convinced they were gonna score. Btw, Ljungbergs penalty shouldn't have counted.. not that it matters anyway. But haven't all four captains who've taken penalties so far missed them?
-
I used to be a keeper (Not a very good one though ) and if that goal was allowed, I'd be miffed. It may well have been given in the UK or in Scandinavia, but in most other leagues it would've been disallowed. But I suppose nothing will persuade you that there was the slightest chance that this was correct, not even Campbell saying it, so this'll probably (Unless I get very interesting replies to this) be my last post on the subject.
-
The ball is already in the net when that picture is taken, watch the replay and Terry's eyes. Uhm look at the four pictures below that. It certainly isn't already in the net in the top two pictures.
-
I know most of you don't understand the text, but I think the pictures should speak for themselves. Last time I checked, what Terry is doing there is a foul http://www.dagbladet.no/sport/2004/06/25/401493.html But the Norwegians are probably in on the conspiracy, the pictures are doctored etc.. am I right?

Noone here has been going on about it for two weeks, hell I didn't even know which possible opponents we could have in the semis two weeks ago. And England WOULD be easier. Why? Because our full backs are our weak spot, and England have no wingers while Portugal has both very good wingers and attacking fullbacks. Not that they're necessarily a worse team. I haven't mentioned the FA blaming it all on a fix, I was talking about the referee, like in the WC '02 where it was 100% Byron Morenos fault Italy went out. And again I haven't said you can't be bitter. I just said that it wasn't solely the refs fault you went out, had you outplayed them you would've won anyway. Probably.
