I did say I would do Villa away, as I did the home game, but no problem if Arbitro wants to do it. I'll do W+nky Wanderers instead, if still in existance. -

Always very subjective, especially as the game has moved on, sometimes not for the better. I dislike Ronaldo for his lack of humility, I think Beckham has more, but Ronaldo a better player. I can never forgive Maradona for you know what, but I also think morally and personally he was corrupt, despite having phenomenal talent. Cruyff was probably the best of the "modern" post 70's players, but Pele was something else. Just never tested himself, apart from in the World Cup, outside his native country, until the US came calling. Messi for me, just behind Shearer in a four year spell. Was crap thereafter! -

Preston at Home
Proudtobeblue&white replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
A few reasons why I won't be attending on Saturday: 1. Preston should have been limited to the allocation they gave us. That is DE lower. 2. The game should be at 3pm. My son, who I would go with, has tennis lessons on a Saturday morning, 11-12.30. Paid for, and he loves it. 3. This was an ideal opportunity, after a bad month, to do a Rovers promotion, £15 any part of the ground to get bottoms on seats, open the full BE, get an atmosphere. 4. The Waggott factor is not doing it for me. He does not have the best interests of the club at heart. He is a Venky puppet. 5. They have made this a Nobber away fest. It's a joke. 6. I want to come back, but I'm not paying those prices to watch a team who seem to be so unmotivated we are losing to inferior opposition. 7. The club hierarchy continue to play with the club. 8. Lastly, I may well despair at TM's team selection. I hope we win, in fact I'll be very happy. But I won't be there to see it. That is what still pisses me off. -

I just wonder why, after such a high profile signing, and the ignominy of being on the bench for so long, and lack of obvious comfort in the first team, it's taken so bloody long to give him game time in the U23's!! -

An Evening with Tony Mowbray
Proudtobeblue&white replied to JHRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Thanks, M, then time will tell. I just hope he arrests the slide, keeps us up, and gets the opportunity to do what he says. I still have grave reservations as to his ability to carry this out, and whether they will give him the funds to do it. -
An Evening with Tony Mowbray

If allowed? Did he mention how his relationship is with the idiots? Will they splash the cash? Are they still keeping up Jack's legacy? No dig at you, I appreciate your reporting, but you said it was a friendly crowd, and very few real answers about those that bank roll us. I just think if we continue to lose, and struggle towards the end of the season whether they will back him. -
In my view Waggott is a symptom, not a solution. He has an agenda. I have no doubt he said they have gone as far as they can with attendances.......well that's quite bo**ocks. He's in a job for which he is no doubt on a very decent salary. We are back to the simple premise the Loons have no idea what is going on at the club, and he makes all the right noises to stay in situ. I feel little has changed, save for TM is a decent bloke, but has no doubt had some say in getting Waggott in. The underlying problem will always be there, until the blight is banished. We are always one moment from further disaster.

It's things like this that continue to make me feel that the fans are the last to be considered in the Blackburn Rovers experience. We are treated with absolute disdain by the club. The Loons are still so far removed from the club, leaving people in every day charge who seem to cost cut with one hand, yet do nothing to increase revenue substantially with the other. I am a reluctant occasional attender nowadays, having been an avid supporter for forty years. The atmosphere is awful. The club do nothing to improve it, in fact go out of their way to make it worse with the stand cuts. The decision to kick off at noon against PNE is another snub to our fans, not theirs. It makes no economic sense in my view. I work one Saturday morning per month. If it falls on that day, I would have to try and swap with a colleague, but otherwise I wouldn't be able to attend at that time. Having been summarily evicted from the upper BE, seen prices rise, seen a vociferous section removed from the DE, I am not encouraged to attend more often under the continuing regime. I still hate what they have and continue to do. They have held tenure over a disaster. Whilst we yet again have a period of relative stability under the Loons, as we all know, with a whim, it could all change in an instant. I've backed TM till the summer in the poll as he deserves more time to perhaps try and secure transfer funds for a push at promotion next year. If he cannot secure those funds, then in my view we will have another relegation fight on our hands. I still have doubts as to whether he is the man with the connections to secure the players we will need, but he should be afforded an opportunity. As to our club. Caley/Waggott et al clearly don't have its best interests at heart with decisions about kick off times, stand closures, timings and costs of ST sales. As has been stated by many, the time to launch was before the Oxford game at the same price as last year. I suppose what I am saying is that the likes of me are not being wooed by the club to return. Whilst I continue to support the team, I find better things to do with my time on match days. If they read this forum, take note!

It's the lack of cohesion that makes it quiet. A crowd should lift their team. The nonsense of closing the upper BE, singing DE has completely dissipated any crowd noise. Look at Palace, who are incredibly vocal. IMO making the BE safe standing and charging a tenner, I'd be there every home game, irrespective of form. See German clubs. The current Rovers regime has no imagination, and is actively disincentivising folk from going.
-
But where? Growing up, BE was the raucous place to be, DE was always the away end. The concrete structure didn't help..... When there were a few on, I always thought the current BE, when populated up and down could make a fair din. Butchering the ground by Waggot has not helped any Rovers fan. We have been here before. It was like a morgue yesterday.

ROVERS v Boro
Proudtobeblue&white replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The manager must take a huge amount of blame for this defeat. His defensive set up in the first half was woeful, combined with Charlie having a mare, and the backs.....well, they just aren't. The second half was much better, with a man down. It's shocking. Will he ever learn? -
