He's playing

Just like our defenders, we have alot of them, but neither of any real quality. Long term Gally and Stead might become really good, but short term the only consistant performer we got is Paul Dickov. As for Derbyshire and Jemal, I dont think they will get any chances in the first team.

If we are going to buy another striker in January, I think it would be great if we could loan Stead out to a 1.div club (championship), burnley anyone? We know what he is capable of when his confidence is high, he just needs to score a few and get some games under his belt.

Assistant manger Stig Inge Bjørnebye has been in Blackburn this week having a chat with Hughes regarding the situation of Morten Gamst Pedersen. The answer he got from Hughes was that MGP needs to get tougher if he wants to play in the PL. Mgp himself says he is working on that every day on training.. Hughes has also rented a lot of really scary movies for MPG to watch alone his basement..

Agree Thompson should start if Reid is suspended, but would be nice to at least see MGP at some part during the game..

If you are disappointed that a 5' 6" tall player aint winning at least 20% in the air against big 6' 2" centre backs, then I put a serious questionmark to your footballing knowledge! Are you serious? Should we lower our demands just because we have crappy players? Should we be happy just because he's trying hard and say: - Oh, he missed again, but that's okey, at least little Paul is working hard. This is not some school boy club. This is Premier League!! Strikers are there to win headers and score goals. Dickov is not doing that. He's simply not good enough. How hard is that to understand? I would be happy with him if we were in a lower division, but this is Premier League where 5'6'' players aren't players you build your team around. I agree that he hasn't got the best finishing skills, but to make a point that he doesnt win alot of headers is just plain stupid IMO! lower our demands? What are you on about?! Dickov has been a bargain signing so far and no-one can question that! But surely there will always be complete muppets like you who will complain that he doesnt win a huge amount of headers....HEADERS! For Gods sake the guy is 5' 6"! Are you sure Reid is suspended? I though he had untill the 6th of Desember to answer to the FA.. Yes, my mistake. Well, it looks like Thommo will be on the bench again. MGP can forget about getting a game again. Its nice to have all the midfielders playing so well. If we are 3-0 up then I think MGP might get a couple of minutes.

Well done lads! We got a penalty and we keept a clean sheet! Friedel 7 - solid, one great save to deny Cole scoring aginst his former club Neill 7 - also solid, and was more attacking than I've seen him before, which is good. Great tackle on Radzinsky, never a freekick.. Johansson 7 - did well, was also good going forward. His passing at times werent the best, but a solid performance all around. Todd 6 - Decent but not the best performance I've seen. Had some problems when they put pace on the ball. Short 7 - Won everything in the air, and expect from the irresolute play when Cole alone got away from him and todd, a good game! Reid 7.5 - Got stuck in, and I can see why MGP isn't playing. He can defend, he can take people on, good tackling, good game! Hope it continues! Emerton 7.5 - Great on the ball, needs to get more involved IMO, because he is a very good player atm. Tugay 8 - Our MOM! Great performace, best I've seen of him ever I think. His work rate was dickovish, and his passing was impressive to say at least. Ferguson 7 - Good game, but I've seen him much better. Dickov 7 - Workes hard as always, a bit greedy in the first half, better in the second. Great struck penalty! Gallagher 6 - He is a man for the future, and will get us goals. Faded away a bit as the game went on, but he will continue to improve. All around a very good game, we had a lot of chances, a huge amount of crosses into the box, and on another day we could have scored 4 or 5 goals.! BRING ON SPURS NEXT SATURDAY, I CANT WAIT!

Good to see Johansson on the left rather than McEveley. If only dickov can pass the ball a bit more rather than having a go himself, then I think we can socre a few more in the second half.. But, I'm a bit nervous, really hope we still will be attacking minded, because I would put my morgage on Fulham scoring at least one goal..

I gotta think Thompson comes in as a second half sub again for Tugay. Tugay has infact been very good in the first half, as has the whole team. Dickov is a bit anoying though, to greedy imo... We should have been 2-0 infront at least!

Last season this was the game that turned our season around, I hope too see the same this season! Btw, statisticaly there is a 30% chance of us winning the game and 22% for a draw.
