  1. As someone who works within the printing onto garment industry...... Why 10Bet couldn't have just used a navy background is beyond me. They could have had thousands of transfers produced in navy, that would have looked better on both the home and away kits!! Black on both? Its a real head scratcher! On another note, the yellow kit probably negates the need for a 3rd strip. That said, yellow or white shorts will likely be used away at Bolton, Brentford, Derby, Preston, Reading, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday
  2. Away kit revealed today (1st August) I believe. my guess.... yellow shirt (as leaked) with yellow shorts, black socks.
  3. Where will Rovers finish this season? : 14th Player of the Year : Elliott Bennett Young Player of the Year: Lewis Travis Top Goalscorer: Danny Graham Championship Promoted : Stoke City, Middlesbrough, Leeds United Championship Relegated : Rotherham United, Bolton Wanderers, Birmingham City Dark Horse : Nottingham Forest Hey....Stranger things have happened : Frank Lampard sacked by January. Miscellaneous : Which ever team he plays for....Harry Chapman to feature in less than 12 games due to injury.
  4. Seeing as the new season is just days away, lets have a predictions thread. See if people are brave enough to put their reputation on the line! All for a bit of fun, especially to look back on at the end of the season....Just copy and paste. 9 simple questions Where will Rovers finish this season? : Player of the Year : Young Player of the Year: Top Goalscorer: Championship Promoted : Championship Relegated : Dark Horse : Hey....Stranger things have happened : Miscellaneous :
  5. The Leamington Street ground (near Sacred Heart RC Primary - my old primary school) must have had a hell of a slope!!
  6. Sounds simplistic, but I trust Tony Mowbray. He's earned that trust in the last 18 months, combined with the type of statements he's made, the civic events he's attended and the impeccable way he's conducted himself both on and off the pitch. I don't believe he's turned down a bigger budget to reduce the pressures on himself, but I do think he realises that the club is being rebuilt a brick at a time, and needs to be treat with kid gloves. You can't undo 7 years of mismanagement in a season at League One and a summer of over spending. The process needs to be more organic, particularly if the aim (which I think it is) is to get back into the Premier League. I'm sure signing players is relatively easy, agents and representatives must be calling morning, noon and night with players who'd love a chance to play for us. Getting the right player is another thing entirely. I think the way Mowbray dealt with Emnes and Joao (both of whom reportedly turned up late for training) set the tone on how he wants the club to be run in both the short and long term, similarly with the way Gladwin (who again reportedly became a bit of a ''bad egg'' in the camp last season) behaved. Re-signing Conway and Graham (model professionals) also reaffirm this stance. In Mowbray I trust......................In Mowbray WE trust.
  7. If Waghorn is £8m Dack must be at least £10m Its silly season in the Championship!
  8. Did you Know Tommie Hoban's last professional game was for..... Blackburn Rovers vs. Bristol City (h) 17th April 2017
  9. Intent and proof you'll be rewarded if your performances merit it. No complaints from me. Also hope the release clause has gone up!
  10. Yes!! As a Riversider, my seat is on the shirt!
  11. If true, we will need a 3rd kit. For Birmingham, Ipswich, Milwall, QPR, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich
  12. Looks nicer in the official shots. Interesting to see it in the flesh. Blue looks too light...
  13. That kit is going to divide opinion!!! Light Blue Blue on left side Without seeing them, I'd guess the socks are white or navy Sponsor looks nice though.
  14. More Umbro goings on Noticeable cuffs, but doesn't seem to be a set style for the collar. Also note, tag on the side, another 90s throwback
  15. I think its a nice throwback to arguably the most 'Wigan' kit they've ever had. The green accents, the JJB sponsorship, Roberts and Ellington, that's how I remember Wigan of old, so nice throwback.
  16. You have to feel that England's run in the World Cup, combined with the early start date (and early deadline) for the season will result in a lot of 'late' signings. Today is 10th July, our season starts 4th August (3 weeks and 3 days). Whatever happens with England, their last game at the World Cup is going to be less than four weeks from the start of the Premier League season. Likely meaning the England squad players will have to be eased back into the season (given they'll have at least two weeks off, then into a 'preseason' schedule) Premier League starts 10th August (a month from today) and Premier League transfer deadline is 9th August, which is the same for us. We're almost guaranteed to sign a couple either permanent, or on loan, from the Premier League. Yet these players will be needed for preseason trips, matches, media and commercial events etc... I'd expect once the World Cup is over and the dust has settled, its going to be a frantic three weeks! With signings aplenty across all the leagues.
  17. No issues really At least we know it'll be released in the next two weeks.
  18. More new Umbro kits. Cuffs obviously. Nice heather effect on the red stripes, not sure I like the white block left for the sponsor, but another solid effort. Interesting pattern on the shoulders
  19. Credit to Umbro for not just creating a striped kit and sticking different badges on it. Huddersfield away and Bournemouth home, both red and black striped, but both different designs. The only thing we know with certainty is that the cuffs are coming. Most of the Umbro home kits have the subtle V neck too, so I'd also expect that. Keeper kits will be as expected.
  20. Yes that's the 16/17 shirt, but in red/white No cuffs. Nothing to see here.....
  21. It would be just like Rovers to 'unveil' the new kit against Hibernian for our first friendly on Sunday 8th July (only 12 days away) Fitting throw back (seeing as Peru are currently in action at the World Cup) to our one and only 'sash' shirt.
  22. New training kit.... And the colour.... Marine Looks lovely (IMHO) and most likely rules out that colour for the away kit. Red or Yellow still the front runners
  23. Premier League fixtures released Burnley are away 11th August, likely meaning Rovers are at home that day, giving us most likely an away fixture on the opening day 4th August. My guess would be that we'll end the season at home. Burnley are also at home on Boxing Day, meaning Rovers likely away that day too. Away Boxing Day, would mean home New Years Day 2019.
  24. He was one of our better players in 16/17 (All comps. 38 starts 8 sub, 8 assists, 7 goals) A non event really in 17/18 (All comps 22 starts 6 sub, 2 assists, 2 goals) Did his legs go? Injuries? or just an off season? He has the heart, he still offers a lot defensively and from set pieces. 1 year with an option seems fair. Another season like 17/18 and I'm sure he's gone. If however he can return to 16/17 form, he'll be a useful squad player.
  25. Umbro kit watch Schalke Cuffs, yes. The away in pale grey is nice, but would require a 3rd kit should Rovers go down this route (as would clash with teams in white) Away and 3rd Schalke kits do look a little plain..... halves, stripes, hoops, different sleeves, anything but plain colour would do for me.
