  1. A much too logical post. Away with you!!
  2. It's either equal to, or just shy of Phil Jones isn't it?
  3. Me neither sadly, my argument is it should at least be a record fee received before we even start to entertain the idea. I'd want £25m guaranteed personally, but i'd also want him back on loan until the end of the season being greedy.
  4. Sigurdsson showed last night against a League 2 team that he is not and never will be a wing back.
  5. Each to their own but I thought there were 3 or 4 others who had better games and Wharton wasn't even our best CB last night. I'd have given it Tronstad.
  6. Also someone needs to have a chat with Peter Jackson about his eyesight. I've no idea how S Wharton got motm. I feel Tronstad has been done over for the award on a few occasions now.
  7. I thought he was awful all game and wondered why he was still on the pitch when we made the initial 3 subs. Goes to show that sometimes stats and visuals don't match.
  8. I don't know much about Cardiff's back line, but you'd imagine considering our back line problems, he will get plenty of games as JDT also alluded the club needs to address experience at the back .
  9. The weather might play a part in people's decision to get tickets today. Meant to be pretty torrential all day. That being said, I'll still be there.
  10. 50m was tongue in cheek, it was though an agreement with your point that if he goes to a 'big club' then we should be asking for more because as you stated, any potential monies from a sell on are reduced. My preference would be for the latter too. I was hoping his latest contract meant we'd possibly get next season from him as well.
  11. Chelsea after Wharton? £50m it is then. The Gallagher thing probably explains why he's had a face like a slapped arse in all the recent social posts by the club.
  12. The experience he has, albeit limited, is pretty much all at or above our current level. So it looks a solid signing. At 26 though, he should have many more games under his belt. If I was him I'd be looking at this being an opportunity to get a permanent move (here or elsewhere) as it's not happening for him anytime soon at Liverpool and in 10 years, he might well look back and think he could've done things differently. He's local as well isn't he? Wasn't his dad at Bolton in some capacity?
  13. I'd take a Sir Jim Radcliffe approach of someone buying x% to help with funding.
  14. The fax machine for incomings has broken again.
  15. It didn't, postponed until the 12th of March. The can hath been kicked.
  16. I can only see Gallagher going if the money would cover whatever it would cost to bring the lad in from Orlando City.
  17. I'd only accept if its a club record fee received. I'd also put the caveat on Venky's that we're able to spend 60%+ of the fee received on improvements to the squad, but I know that's not something we can control. Which is what makes me nervous about selling.
  18. I'd be absolutely gutted if less than 6 months after becoming a regular, he leaves and for £15m. I'd be gobsmacked if £5m of that was reinvested.
  19. Isn't there also an election in India this year around May? I do wonder if that will have a potential knock on effect.
  20. I'm not Pickering's biggest fan by any means, but he's a massive loss right now. Our only recognised senior left back with championship experience is likely to be out for an extended period. It's clear with our finances that we are not finding it easy to upgrade on anyone signed prior to JDTs arrival.
  21. ....because the owners are disinterested. Say we swap the entire management team, are we likely to obtain an improved playing squad where the owners would demand results?
  22. All this is symptomatic of a club that is owned by a group who are uninterested and dumbing down everything around the place. If you were part of the footballing side you're probably asking yourself, If they don't give a shit, then why should I? It's not excusable, but frankly whatever management team and playing squad are in front of us, over time they will eventually feel the same, as long as Wankytesh still own us.
  23. Loaning him out so he can hit the ground running next season is probably a good option. Certainly better than him hitting the ground and breaking his knees.
