I think it's a good age spread in that team.

Buckey is the youngest starter with a full Rovers contract at age 22, even he has over 80 first team appearances.

We have older if Mowbray wants to play them, or in the case of Ayala if Ayala wants to play.

I don't want to listen to Mowbrays lame excuses, not based on fact, about a team/squad that he damn well constructed and just to deflect away from the real problem .... him.

Actually forgot that Ayala is at the club 🤣🤬

    Nonsense

One season in the Prem could put this club back on an even keel again. However bad the results might be it would be worth swallowing it for a season. Then hopefully rebuild a bit stronger after relegation without a crippling wage bill.

We are nothing like the Brentford sadly this club needs a promotion. Not years of pulling to bits to put back together again pretending to follow some 'model'. The people we have trying to do that just aren't competent enough they are more comfortable downgrading not building up.

As for bad results it might have escaped your attention but we won 2 in 17 last season. And have just been whalloped 0-7 at home in the heaviest home defeat in history.

Somehow it might be a bit more palatable if it was Arsenal or City doing it at top level.

Based on past events I could see us creating a monstrous wage bill, relegation and so on…

    sound familiar?

Been told dingles looking at Nyambe as backup right back. They think bid of less than £1m will be enough to get him.

If we aren't planning on offering him a decent deal then sell for whatever we can get but with 40% sell on

Right manager and fitness/physio could make him into a 10m player. Worth a shot if we can't be arsed/afford trying to keep him...

Mowbray has (again) changed our style of play. From his nonsense possession based play we seem to move the ball forward a lot quicker which suits more of the players we have. Last season we were well in front on the possession stats but this season not so and in my view we seem to be a lot more physical.

I think this adds credence to the view that last season was wasted given the players we had and the style of play Mowbray imposed on them.

That is what is making me wonder - why (how) has he suddenly become pragmatic overall (though it is balanced out by the false 9 b******)

Just wondered if there had been a shift in the balance of power but equally TM is doing the same as players who suddenly step when the end of their contract is in sight...

  5. Anyone have an eye on the bench. Is TM running the show or are there signs that subs are chosen by Venus/Lowe for example?

I ask because I have never seen TM this active on touchline but also we are playing more "pragmatic" football with some (far from all) sensible decisions and a better allround spirit (tbh think part of that linked to the return of fans)

Put it this way, Venky's only discuss things with Pasha and Mowbray.

Waggott and Cheston have never once spoken to Venky's themselves directly, only to their underlings.

What has probably changed in the last 6 months is the realisation we have not been run all that well and not even the sale of Armstrong has been enough to cover FFP and allow us to sign players. We seem to now have a wage ceiling of £5k a week, which is very new.

If you know you are likely to go into an embargo you spend as much as possible before you do, knowing you will have assets to sell if you need to sell them. You never make do with loan signings unless you are absolutely desperate. It's better to test your own kids instead of using a loan signing as you are building your asset value up.

If correct then we are pretty screwed and should be looking at getting our kids ready for League One

Clarkson did show flashes of class and ultimately played a part in the goal but I did think he delayed just too long before playing that ball and overcooked it slightly, luck is a decent trait to have though

The earlier one in the box to BB was pure class though

The family stand seems to have had very little attention, the steps up the the seats are all cracking, probably not an issue for now but some look like they’ll be a danger in time.

There’s a chief steward or similar, nice chap who is usually around the concourse entrance nearest the centre (where I sit) and he was making notes yesterday of issues he’d spotted so hopefully there will be things done.

Have to say the pitch isn’t looking great so early in its life though

Waggot will be "looking into it" no doubt 😉

    An update:

I sent this email to Rovers TV on 18 August:

I have not received an answer or explanation to my last query. I asked you to confirm that FULL MATCH REPLAYS would be available via the 170 pound international subscription. Alex D assured me that they would. So I paid the 170 pounds but there is no sign of any replays except for the U23 match v Everton………or old replays from pre-season……and even full replays from last season!

Ifollow always allowed this facility …..which is essential to us (Australian) viewers as kick off times are in the middle of the night! Even the “extended highlights” feature has been removed.

It seems that I have been misled. Rovers TV has reduced the service while charging a premium price.
Is there some contractual reason why these replays are unavailable?

I look forward to your response.

I have not received a reply as yet.

I asked the same question. First response was to read the FAQ and that they would assume my problem was in there if I didn't reply/resend my question.

Next response was that I had "logged in to the audio stream - see below:

    Hi there,

You were accessing the audio feed please look for the video feed you will have gained access with your pass.

    Regards,

The lack of a name isn't me being nice - they genuinely did not put anything after "regards" - not even a standard signature.

So to answer the question "are extended highlights or on-demand viewing of matches available/included as with iFollow?" is apparently that I am accessing the audio feed...

That is either some very profound, deep, mataphysical abstract that is way above my head or politician level avoidance 🤬

Was Mowbray actually after him, he said last week he hadn't spoken to the player, so utter BS again from Mowbray, agree a deal two weeks ago and dont speak to the player when a transfer is agreed, the guy is getting worse than the liar Kean, and that takes some doing.

I wonder who did speak to the player (or his agent)? Waggot?? Or was it just fluff all along to distract from the Arma fee 🤔

Think we can forget about Nyambe and Rothwell signing. I'd sell the latter if the opportunity arose. Not sure we have adequate cover for Nyambe or I'd sell him too. In defence of Rothwell running his contract down, I believe we tried to sign him in a previous window but Oxford didn't accept the bid, so he ran down his last few months. May be wrong on that though.

Question is why the move to Sheff Utd fell through... Rumours that it was our end that pulled the plug which, if true, is idiotic at best if we aren't planning on giving him what he wants.
