  1. Who says he isn't? What if talks with an unknown player aren't being played out in the media?
  2. "sure, it's a mess of their own making" read like you were glossing over it to me. All bright and breasy; "sure, Michael Jackson was weird with kids but he had some amazing tracks"
  3. Factual yes, but you gloss over the key fact; it's entirely of their own making. In my view they should spend their own money on the club and feel some pain doing it given what they've done to us.
  4. Funny isn't it I'd have him back in a heartbeat, odd how opinions differ so wildly within a group of people all wanting the same thing.
  5. Given the fact that Downing played 40 times for a top 6 team last year I'd absolutely take him as a direct replacement for Conway. Not a bad bit of business to start the window if it happens.
  6. I'd would have loved to hear Tony's explanation of that 'blip'.
  7. A sad indictment of Blackburn Rovers in 2019; that we can only dream of getting a player like Jacob Murphy.
  8. This is another thing Venkys have ruined; I've genuinely had nowhere near as much concern about Rovers goalkeepers in my lifetime until they turned up. Started properly following in 1992... ?
  9. Fair assessment. What about putting Mulgrew in midfield? His set pieces contributed a huge amount last season so would be good to get him in somewhere.
  10. It does seem a stretch I admit but I'm optimistic. TM has made some decent signings, amongst some rotters, and now he knows he needs to focus on the defence and a keeper hopefully he'll find some Dack/Rothwell equivalents (yes he should've realised in January). He knows that Mulgrew was a huge issue for us defensively, given how much he played him toward the end of the season, and we looked pretty solid at the back with Lenihan and Williams in there for the last few games (quite how Williams became more reliable than Mulgrew is utterly baffling). So a centre half to slot in next to Lenihan and a keeper to push Raya for first choice could see us tighten up enough to make a run for the play-offs imo. Still don't think TM is the man to take us up but he ain't going anywhere so I'm going for a positive outlook this summer.
  11. It's mid May ffs, all I will do is react to over reactions until at least early July
  12. TM will make some good signings and some shitters, that's pretty obvious given all the windows he's had at Rovers. I find keeping this in mind will help you not to lose your shit when your hear rumoured negotiations with a squad player in mid May.
  13. The first totally unnecessary meltdown of the window, well done sir.
  14. Sounds like a tale of two halves this one, could either give Mowbray the benefit of the doubt for inspiring a second half improvement or point to the fact its unacceptable that we don't start the game well. Still not convinced he's the man to get us up despite the decent run at the end of the season. I hope he's got a plan but I'm sceptical. We're really not far off a play off attempt with the youngsters we've got coming through, biggest transfer window Mowbray has had for us, 3 or 4 quality additions needed. Then there's Wankys. I actually think they'll back Mowbray with some funds so I just hope he finds some bargains as we still aren't gonna have a massive budget. Then again fucks knows with that lot.
  15. Since we've been turned to shit by Venkys the summer transfer windows have become a source of amusement for me, both in terms of the players we buy/are linked with and reading people losing their shit on here. Back in the day I used to be angry/nervous/excited all at once every summer, buying the likes of Bellamy, Roque etc missing out on Lewandowski... it's hard to give a f8ck these days when you're buying Ben Gladwin and missing out on some clown you've never heard of. Never fear though, our Tone has discovered Europe exists at the same time as realising Evans & Smallwood are utter dogshit, an exciting summer surely awaits us.
  16. The fact this thread is @ 45 pages, and it's not even the end of the season yet let alone the transfer window, bodes well for a 200+ page summer with some fantastic meltdowns thrown in.
  17. I don't think he's real, no one is that thick.
  18. Go on lad! This will fuel the debate.
  19. Can't stand this lot, absolute roasters the lot of them. Dacky to run the show and get one in a 4-0 drubbing. A lack of kids in the squad will push a few into the hypertension zone.
  20. Software sales is very similar. At my company they spend months creating a target that is so complex that it actively looks to take money out of your pocket.
  21. Thoroughly enjoyable performance that, QPR were poor but a lot of that was down to how good we were. I have to hold my hands up in regards to Williams - he looks like a proper footballer at centre back, his attributes are so much more suited to that position so perhaps I underestimated how much Mowbray playing him at LB was to blame for previous performances. Armstrong also had a great game for me, so much pace it will always cause problems. Dacky looks back to his best, Travis was top drawer again and DG is so important for us. The negatives for me were Leutwiler - add a goalkeeper to the shopping list for the summer. Bennett - I thought he was going to get pumped all game by the chap that tried to kill him towards the end but he just about held his own. Still a huge weakness for us in that position though if we have any aspirations of play-offs next year, that'll end up being an issue no doubt as TM HAS to fit him in somewhere. Nuttall; I really worry for Brereton if he is behind him in the pecking order, had several chances to get on the end of some decent deliveries and he just wasn't where he should have been - either through laziness, or lack of positional knowledge, either way it's not good enough at this level. It also would have been nice to see some kids on the bench but perhaps the U23 game on Tuesday was a factor.
