  1. My main concern is he will stick with his favourites and we kick off the first game next year with Smallwood and Evans in the middle. This would be a clear sign that he hasn't learned anything from this year and would be the final straw for me. We're four players off giving the play offs a decent crack next year imo and I'm hoping Mowbrays comments in the media about needing to strengthen the current squad only in case of injury are a smoke screen, though I struggle to see how that'll work in the budget meeting with Venkys. So I've voted for him to go but I've accepted he has the summer to improve the squad, more for my own sanity than any rational thinking because he ain't going anywhere.
  2. I thought Conway played well actually, put in quite a few decent balls into the box and kept running till the end. Bennett on the other hand...
  3. Where has this performance come from? Credit where its due, a million miles away from where we've been recently. I call 0-0 though, Derby robbing us of a deserved win like we did at their place.
  4. He's just not a very good manager, this is the main problem.
  5. He's built up quite a lot of leeway with a chunk of the fanbase I get that. And in some ways I wish I was given to that way of thinking. But in truth it's naivety at best for me; we're getting nowhere near the PL with Mowbray as manager. His player recruitment, the fact he still doesn't know our best system, playing people out of position, sticking with players that got us promoted from an inferior league last year and sound bites in the media blaming the players every week are just some of the reason he's reached the end for me. As you say though... Bomb proof.
  6. Well as long as he still has all of our shit players on side, thank f7fk for that ?‍♂️
  7. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17535359.rovers-boss-reveals-transfer-plans-after-defensive-injuries/ Tony is on fire this morning. I will paraphrase the best bits so no one has to suffer the LT website; “I’ve talked about it for a few weeks now. It’s an area of the pitch that we have to strengthen. “When I say strengthen I mean add competition." Firstly; a few weeks Tone? A few f7cking weeks? Secondly; I could 'add competition' to our back-line at the minute, and my touch is further than most people can kick it. Again this screams of him not wanting to upset his favourites. It's pathetic. “Ultimately it doesn’t matter to me who plays in the team, the team has to win, and when you win you stay in the team. I’ve said that to them all." Firstly; what? Secondly; the team isn't winning is it T? “I talk about the depth. Jack Rodwell’s a midfield player who we’ve converted into a centre half and when he’s played I think he’s done extremely well and is very focussed on his job." You converted him Tony you wand, stop clawing for excuses it's ruining a lot of the good work you have done. “We want to create competition in our team with what you might called stereotypical old-fashioned defenders who want to head the ball, defend and be the main man at the back.” Why are you realising this 87 days later than everyone else? You had the opportunity to strengthen that area in January and didn't.
  8. Have you been in a basement somewhere for the last few months? Tony's basement.
  9. We're going to get bummed, 6-2. Tony blames each player individually after the game and absolves himself completely.
  10. Great Post. Totally agree. I wish I could think about it like you have on a rational level but I'm too angry. I will therefore continue with the 'oh f7ck off Tony' approach whilst yourself and others analyse our situation more sensibly.
  11. 6-2 is 200/1. I'm thinking stick £20 on it and when it's 2/3-1 after 20 odd mins they will offer a tasty cash out option. 4-1 @ 22/1 & 5-1 @ 75/1 also would give good options.
  12. I think we will score. 6-2 is getting a fiver put on it.
  13. If you're moaning TM must be f8cked ?
  14. “If a specific player can dance past someone once or twice a game, it doesn’t mean that he’s helping the team, specifically defensively, throughout the whole 90 minutes.” Oh f8ck off Tony, you're starting to sound like an absolute clown. How exactly do you think you have been helping the team defensively given our goals against column this season? Blaming a player who has started 6 games for our defensive frailties is 'Keanesque'. And if he isn't blaming him and merely explaining why he hasn't started him more, it can hardly get any f7cking worse can it? Throw him in from the start I say.
  15. Not advocating it, I'm being pragmatic with it. I understand that Mowbray isn't leaving unless he wants to and therefore clinging to the hope he will decide to take a DoF role if he accepts he has taken us as far as he can. In reality he has the job for as long as he wants it.
  16. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17512700.rovers-boss-mowbray-on-the-changes-that-need-to-be-made/ TM has lost it for me; "I know where the changes need to be made and where the strengthening needs to be,” the boss said. That’s ultimately where we need to strengthen when we get the chance.” You had the chance in January, why couldn't you see then where the strengthening needed to be? Despite our decent run we were still minus in the goal difference column, was this not a concern for you? Surely you've worked with this squad for long enough to see where the deficiencies were and had the chance to strengthen and didn't, frankly it's a bit late to be moaning about it now. “My frustration is with the experienced players out there, not the likes of Tyler Magloire who I thought was really good again. “He stuck to his job, a young guy, who needs some guidance on the pitch I would suggest and there were some more experienced players that needed to step up and that didn’t happen.” Blaming the players is always a classic sign of a man under pressure. Tony, you either bought these 'experienced' players and/or inherited them and decided they were good enough to do a job when you didn't strengthen in January, how can this situation therefore not fall on you? “It’s been difficult for us, because Charlie’s based his game around his technique, whereas Jack is naturally a midfielder, but is at the back for us, due to his height. “At this stage, Lenihan is the only person who wants to deal with the ball and my job in the summer is to find some players who also want to head the ball out." So you know we have players playing out of position and you STILL didn't strengthen there in January or the summer before that. Why do you think it's acceptable to then blame these players for this appalling run we are on and not yourself? You're openly admitting they are playing out of position for f8ck sake. He's just f7cking irritating me now. Time to move upstairs and give Johnson a go.
  17. Sounds about right, i'd have put them at a similar level even before seeing the stat comparison. I'd argue that Lambert is a little hard done by on this as he didn't have as many transfer windows as Mowbray has to shape his own squad. In any case we're not going any further under TM, I've made my peace with that. And perhaps he is better than any other clown Venkys could choose to replace him with. Apathy; a symptom of the Venky ownership.
  18. This. Who the f8ck is coming in to replace him? It's beyond depressing. Absolute vermin have destroyed us. I just hope the money they are haemorrhaging on us hurts before they eventually get rid and that it happens whilst I still care.
  19. L O L Up your arse Cook you rat.
