  1. Been saying for years that I'd love to play more golf with members on here. Partly because I like playing different courses (not a member anywhere for that reason) and partly because you can never meet too many Rovers.
  2. I initially liked this but removed it, but only because I think it does him a disservice. Philip was the husband of the longest reigning Monarch of the oldest Monarchy in the world. That alone warrants the 24hr change of TV in tribute imo. He's an important enough figure in the world (let alone Britain). I think they got it just right by restricting it to 24hrs. When it's the Queen, it's even more drastic! What I disagreed with, however, is the idea that politics needed suspending even briefly. The Monarchy is apolitical and strictly honourary in its powers within our democracy, and it needn't influence politics. However, I understand that once one party declares it won't campaign, the others then must fall in line so as to appear respectful because it would look bad otherwise. As empty a gesture as war-mongering politicians wearing poppies.
  3. Already amended my post due to error, no need to be arsey about it.
  4. Hidden my original post due to error (as you highlighted). Would you mind amending your post to remove the quote so I don't need to hide yours?
  5. I agree with the second sentence, BUT not sure we're in a position to tell others when their tributes are real or not? I wear my Prostate Cancer UK badge all-year-round, when is it a real tribute and when is it a pretend one?
  6. On my Football Manager save, the longest losing run by a manager is Zurab Mingelli (regen, I assume) with San Marino: 1 draw and 12 losses before the manager was sacked. Even Football Manager with the world's worst team finds this situation ridiculous.
  7. I think they're seeing your use of 'basic' and interpreting it as 'bare bones' rather than 'standard'.
  8. MASTERS WEEK
  9. Paul Ritter has died, aged 54
  10. No excuse when Dingles have signed it. Needs as many locals to sign as possible, too, not just Rovers.
  11. In all fairness to Sharpe, that's about as damning as he may be allowed to write.
  12. Corporate bullshit: 'So moving forward, how can we get the ball rolling so we can meet this month's KPIs Ay-Sap?' Obviously, the last one is ASAP but spoken as a word. It makes me occasionally thankful I'm deaf.
  13. Were there not rumours about 2 weeks ago about changes being made 'from Waggott downwards' on here? Might fit what @RoversClitheroe has heard?
  14. More like turkeys at the moment.
  15. You might be a victim of 'looking about 25', which is the guideline age given. Plus you might just look dodgy 😛
  16. People who think me checking they're over 18 at the doorstep/checkout is a personal slight. It's actually so I don't get caught out and face £10,000 fine, the sack, and 6 months in prison. If you don't have ID (a driving licence) on you having driven to the store, you are literally a moron. It may not be illegal, but it saves a LOT of hassle. On that note, don't let your teenage child put alcohol on the checkout belt, I will assume you're buying for them and, without ID, neither of you are leaving with any alcohol.
  17. Also passed the exam (2001, finished 2009) for an assisted place. Also some further % knocked off for my hearing. As I opted not to use radio aids, the money that would have been used on that was claimed anyway and deducted from my fees; a gesture the school did not need to make, but meant my parents could afford the assisted fees (every penny I made from 14-18 in part time work also went towards these fees, my way of paying my parents back in part). My first form tutor was the most stern lady I ever met, but her son was deaf so she knew exactly how to deal with me. Settled me right in.
  18. We could do a lot worse than offer terms to Steve Cook and Manadou Sakho this summer.
  19. WELL FUCKING DO IT OR FUCK THE FUCK OFF YOU CLUELESS PRICK! /rant
  20. I agree with that, but you're attaching an Eton attitude to 'the local grammar school'. More to the point, the group you're trying to beat with that particular stick mostly got into QEGS on scholarships and grants rather than because of wealth.
  21. To demonstrate that there's always redemption opportunities, my Dingle in-laws have signed the letter. Voluntarily!
  22. By referring to Barnsley for the journey we need to go on, he's advocating his own sacking, surely?
  23. I'm hoping the lack of backing is code for 'We have someone else we're going to back in the summer'. Hope sucks, doesn't it?
