Just to add, I'm not saying I think he actively wants the job. But I do suspect we'd be his pick of any jobs offered in this league. Based on 5 mins of one Zoom call last year 😛 My personal preference would actually be Ainsworth, but Hughesy would be my very close second.

Side note, I also mentioned his amazing turn in midfield in the Worthy Cup final. He said something like: 'I love that fans appreciate me in that game. At that age, it's one of my favourite medals but I thought Graeme was trying to fucking kill me!'

Pal of a pal was Zoom calling him about property. I was invited on the call just because I like Hughes, and had a good chat with him. Jokingly asked him when he's coming back and he said (paraphrasing): I loved my time with Rovers (never 'Blackburn') and leaving the way I did always felt like unfinished business.

In fairness I do think it would attract Hughes, partially because of his time out the game (2 years?) and his unfinished business with us (a quote from the horses mouth on a surprise zoom call only a few months ago).

Why can we not just have some sort of stylised halves for every away kit? Plenty of design and colour options. Being 'the club that plays in halves' seems such an easy marketing goal to score to me, yet we keep launching into row z.

My vision for a CL revamp would be to have it return to a pure knockout format between the Champions of every European country's top league. Also invited to compete would be the CL and Europa winners of the previous 20 years. FYI, Europa would be between the winners of each nation's major cup competitions, rather than league places.

At least Newcastle have won a European competition this century (albeit the Intertoto Cup).
