  1. I get the feeling that the 'plan' is the same plan that Mowbray was given, but done (he says hopefully) with a better calibre manager and recruitment team. I'm not worried about relying on the academy just yet, but it does REALLY annoy me more about the mismanagement of Lenihan and Nyambe.
  2. I'll have to see if I can fit into the biggest kids shirt then.
  3. I'm pissed off about the whole thing, I'd promised Dundee tickets as a Father's Day present because we happen to be staying in Dundee that night after being at Open Practice at St Andrews. If anyone's willing to buy 2 and I'll pay you back, I'd be very grateful.
  4. Yeah but why this year specifically? How does access to a £15 ticket convince me to spend a further £430?
  5. Finally released tickets for sale, and then restrict them to ST holders. I understand doing it for cup games etc, but why for Pre-season? Never had an issue before that I recall and I've not had my ST for about 6 years.
  6. I feel like it was one of those games that MacDonald took charge of when Sam had some sort of op? There were 3 games if I remember rightly?
  7. THAT'S Lowe? I thought it was Dan Skinner's character off Shooting Stars looking for his plastic bag.
  8. Thank you for this. It's really frustrating that the club STILL don't do subtitles on their vids.
  9. I'm preferring (perhaps deludedly) to believe that we'll make 3-4 solid signings and rely on our academy guys to fill the gaps rather than external loans. Personally think that Carter, A.Wharton, Garrett, Burns should be afforded the opportunity throughout the season to fill in the 'Davenport/Johnson' type gaps. If we need bodies, use the academy rather than buying them. Buy quality if we need it.
  10. The devil logo is an issue for me. Our 90s success means we shouldn't ever be displaying a Red Devil.
  11. I've never timed a shag better in my life. All being well, I'll be on 12 weeks paternity leave from Halloween 😁😁😁
  12. Remember under Hughes when we had virtually a full team of international captains and vice captains? Friedel, Samba, Nelsen, Mokoena, Savage, Reid, Pedersen, Roberts off the top of my head.
  13. Frustrating that tickets for Dundee and Celtic aren't on sale with only 3 weeks to go
  14. I'm trying use it as a 'loss leader' of sorts. Use it to generate buzz and sales in other areas. We certainly need to start trying something different. Prices of virtually everything needs to come down so that we can sell more imo.
  15. It's give and take. Incentives to get fans buying AND in the ground are the only ways to grow income. If we want sponsors of higher value than we have now, we need to fill Ewood. No sponsor worth their salt wants to associate with a half empty ground. Seeing as we're stuck in the bargain bucket of sponsorships at the moment, I'm just trying to think of something unique to keep our club generating buzz. One of the best years for shirt sales we've had this century was the Prince's Trust year. Because we had the option of no logo. The only better years were 01-02, 02-03, and the red/black halves.
  16. You really don't come across as supporting the Trust in this post or any of your subsequent posts. Didn't see much wrong with Mhead2's post that would provoke such an irate reaction from you towards him and several disinterested posters. I use disinterested deliberately as a word choice, because it is clear to those still involved that John acts professionally and in a distinctly disinterested manner with Waggott as far as Trust engaged is concerned. I respect what you did Glen, and I respect your founding involvement in the Trust, but you're not coming across well in attacking the Trust for daring to engage with the club in a friendly way.
  17. Include Markanday too. Personally I'd rather try and get a tune out of what we have up front and use our funds build a rock solid defense.
  18. Doesn't matter. We can sell sponsorless shirts without a sponsor being in place. They'd sell like hotcakes. What we'd need is ANY sponsor that is willing to go with that (even at a reduced price). The unique situation would plaster the sponsor's name all over the sports news for a while, and they'd still be on TV every time Rovers are. The money recouped in extra revenue from virtually every fan buying one (the market research is there, fans prefer a sponsorless look) would be worth a reasonable shortfall.
  19. That's where the club could do with using it's wits. Sponsors are more for the playing team (on TV) than for replicas. Get a sponsor in on 100k (or whatever) and offer fans £40 shirts, with a £50 price to go sponsorless.
  20. Imagine the buzz it'd create. Announce ahead of time for next season.
  21. Sorry but from a marketing perspective, Greg has failed every step of the way. Really basic things too imo. I'm sorry he's gone for sentimental reasons, but not for business reasons. Club marketing has needed an overhaul for a LONG time. I'm including Waggott in the scope too.
