  1. Just think of how far down the English football pyramid actually goes. And not a single team wants Kean's help.
  2. The problem they have is that the world's best managers are managing their rivals.
  3. The trouble is they won't just require a better manager; they're still deluded enough to require a 'worthy' manager. After Conte, there's not much left currently. Zidane (no desire to come to England apparently) or Allegri at a push?
  4. Fans opinions are irrelevant in Venky world though.
  5. Send a private message either to the Rovers Trust account or to me (I'm on the board) and I'll get it looked at 🙂 Ditto for any other Member with the same issue. Although I'll excuse myself just a touch in that I've only been Member Officer/Secretary/Acting Secretary for around 5 years 🤣
  6. I don't understand the rigid reliance on HSH, which is why I can't let go of my suspicions that something sinister continues. Why restrict yourself FROM finding the best candidate so much?
  7. Definitely wishful thinking! However I genuinely do think that the combination of: Job Security Wealthy Owners Relative relaxed fanbase Gateway to English football Would all be attractive to much better candidates than Tony bloody Mowbray, and those suggestions I posted would most definitely be the absolute peak. Begs the question why only 2 (despite their successes) have been in the Premier League. Remember we all (well not me, I was born in 1991) thought Jack was mental when he approached Kenny Dalglish.
  8. What I haven't noticed about Buckley before is how he wins the ball relatively easily quite high up the pitch!
  9. Based on his definition of abuse: Criticising his managerial skills = vitriolic abuse of players. So 'negative'.
  10. He told us to confront each other and tell each other to shut up if we're negative.
  11. Precisely that. Less time to overtake and you're forced to overtake correctly (fully in the oncoming lane), and therefore more safely.
  12. Some really interesting options out there if Venkys want to show a bit of ambition. I'm trying to channel the logic that brought Hodgson and Souness to Rovers. Or maybe I need to lay off the drink? Andre Villas-Boas - Not exactly in favour when it comes to managing in England after lukewarm spells at Chelsea and Spurs, but has done well at clubs away from the spotlight. Trophies at Porto, won everything there is to win in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, turned SIPG from also-rans to title contenders in China, and returned a floundering Marseille to the CL spots. Turns his teams into well-oiled machines. Who's to say a spell with Rovers without the pressure of the PL in one of English football's most secure jobs won't appeal? Rudi Garcia - Named French Manager of the Year on three occasions, Rudi Garcia has edged toward journeyman territory since winning Ligue 1 with Lille a decade ago. He has enjoyed many good moments in his stints with Roma, Marseille and Lyon. Renowned for demanding an incredible work ethic from his squad. Paolo Fonseca - Led Shakhtar as the dominant force in Ukraine, playing scintillating fast-break football. Also had good spells at Porto, Braga, and Roma; recently departed Roma despite having won around half his matches in charge of the club. Amazed he's not been snapped up. Eddie Howe - His achievements at Bournemouth were often qualified, and there’s a sense he might have missed his chance at a top job following the Cherries’ demise at the end of his tenure. Don't let the ex-Dingle stuff put you off, I think he's got life left in him yet, possibly even as a Southgate replacement imo. Quique Setien - Sporting the frankly awesome nickname of ‘El Maestro’ (nope, doesn't ring a bell at all) as a player, Quique Setien has had an eventful managerial career. He managed Equatorial Guinea and worked in the lower Spanish divisions. Made his name with Las Palmas and a highly fruitful Real Betis displaying the Cruyffian principles of Total Football that would attract Barca. A short and underwhelming stint at Barcelona followed, bit that wouldn't stop us, would it? Lucien Favre - It ended in ugly fashion in Dortmund, but the lure of Lucien Favre remains. His teams play exhilarating football. On top of the fun, there’s plenty of substance too, with his teams often exceeding expectations. With experience in Switzerland, Germany and France, perhaps it’s time for an English club to take a chance on Favre?
  13. Yoyoing between PL and Champ is better than yoyoing between 15th and 11th tbf.
  14. I get a feeling we're heading in that direction, esp with all the chat about Wilder (also head coach) recently. I actually wonder if Smith fits that model too?
  15. Quite right. But SW isn't a CEO worthy of the name imo. He's not said anything about Mowbray to me, but he has certainly told me things without provocation that he absolutely should not have told me. He strikes me as very much a 'football industry' guy. The sort who is a failed athlete but wants to hang on anyway, rather than a CEO with legitimacy from another industry such as Williams.
  16. Any protest would have to be organic, most likely. Either that or the brave among those going make the noise that gets the silent dissenters joining in.
  17. This ☝️☝️☝️ is the attitude we need from fans. Fans with any influence (especially monetary) will be those who can make a big difference.
  18. This ☝️☝️☝️ Reminds me of a Tuckerism: Look, people really like it when you go just a bit early! You know, steely jawed, faraway look in your eyes! Before they get to the point when they sitting round in pubs and say "Oh, that fucker's got to go!", you surprise them! "Blimey, he's gone! I didn't expect that! Resigned! You don't see THAT much anymore! Old school! Respect! I rather liked the guy! He was hounded out by the fucking press!"
  19. They're all over this site Mark, had statements in local media, and on their various social media. Don't fib. As for your original demand, the statement is also on their other social media platforms. So quite what you're sniping about, I don't know.

  21. And how are you going to help aside from telling volunteers what else they should be doing?
  22. Well based on Wednesday night, Tony, you turn your backs on them just as they need your guidance. What you should have done is apologise for YOUR 'no plan to deal with Mitrovic', apologise to your players for leaving them hanging out to dry with a baffling formation, and apologise to the fans for delivering the worst result ever seen on our hallowed ground. It's called taking responsibility, try it some time.
  23. I think this needs to form the core of a wider question: Other clubs are doing it better than us on less money. Why?
  24. Even the Dingles can't count this scoreline on one hand, that's how bad it is!
