  1. I honestly have no idea of how Monday will go. All I know is that I was dragged down The Den for the first time in the 1987/88 season and we won promotion to the top flight, with the last league match of the season being against Blackburn Rovers. And this is the first season I have taken my daughter down The Den…
  2. Hey… we pioneered professional football in London & the south. In fact we were the first southern working class club to give the northern and midlands teams a good game… when we beat the mighty Aston Villa of the Victorian era to reach the Semi-Finals of the FA Cup in 1900 the football press nicknamed us the ‘Lions of the South’… Millwall are the only club in English football to earn their nickname through football endeavour!
  3. To be fair we had not only won promotion the previous match at Hull City, but had also been confirmed as champions. The players had literally been on the piss all week (this was the 80s) and I remember is a carnival atmosphere… in fact as a 8yr old I couldn’t see much for all the flags! Remember, this was our first ever promotion to the top flight! Also… every Blackburn goal was cheered by Millwall fans as loud as any home goal, as a big Rovers win meant Crystal Palace missing out on the play-offs!
