I’m not sure you can call being uninformed trolling. If it is - about 50% of the website need removing 😉

There are a lot of conspiracy theories but I tend to ignore them and just go off what I know is fact. 1. Should’ve never been give the job. It only happened because links to advisor of owner https://thesetpieces.com/latest-posts/steve-kean-ex-blackburn-bosss-clucking-nightmare-allardyces-replacement/ 2. He instantly got rid of leaders in the club like Nelson - here’s more examples of “damning” actions https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/steve-kean-20-damning-quotes-823871 3. Pundits and managers criticised fans https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/16284988 4. Drunk driving and slagging off old manager on film https://consent.yahoo.com/v2/collectConsent?sessionId=3_cc-session_b60770da-8eee-4a82-a844-0f83b6071ea1 Now that’s just 4 examples of actual stuff that went on. Funnily enough to some extent I agree - I never thought protesting should’ve happened in the ground like it did. But I can fully understand why. My response at the time was to miss around 50% of my season tickets games because I simply couldn’t face what SK and the “advisors” had done to the club in 6 months

Stoke City v Rovers (a) Sat. 19th Dec. 3pm
JBiz replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I’m sure we all knew what your point was. Suggesting someone has experience in a certain role, is a bit different to (ironically a strawman) suggesting it’s the same as someone being “in the sport” . It’s also absolutely stupid - since I could’ve been a kit man for 40 years and it wouldn’t make me suitable for anything but... being a good kit man? Sheesh. As for your other “straw fire” questions; Coventry have been just “naturally shit” haven’t they, only the most average manager would’ve struggled with them (since the mid 90s 👀).. PS that’s sarcasm. Why would I care what Celtic fans think secondly? I think Mark Hughes is / was a great manager but I’m not sure City, QPR or Southampton fans agree. Equally you mention Souness - why not ask Newcastle about his abilities. Why are you apologising by the way? You don’t have to be sorry for your opinion, just accept that I have a low opinion of anyone who thinks playing a player on the wing is akin to ostracising a whole fanbase through being over promoted and a “wee crook” -
I am still in the opinion this is last season to make the step up the “expectation” requires - however I’m becoming more convinced that we won’t make that. I don’t put it all down to him though. It’s not an easy job, despite what some think here - it’s easy to understand why rovers fans expect more though when the club has had a decent level of support recently - and teams like Brentford with similar wage bills but less turnover are consistently better than us. That said, I think any future project potentially needs a specific coach for bringing players through the academy. I know many wouldn’t be too happy - but DJ has been in promoted to a 1st team, and perhaps is a good choice should TMs time be up. That project would have to be 2 or 3 years though, and if we’re talking a less risky / long term idea on selecting a manager - I would hope the clubs analyst and scouting department has a list of European potential managers like the next unknown versions of the Farke, Warner, Nuno Gomes etc.
-
Agree with lots but I’m not sure anyone believes it’s either Mowbray or someone like Kean. I think most just see that Kean was a symptom of the way the club was run. One aspect I think you are right on; the level of confidence a supporter has in the potential of our owners / directors making the right choice WILL play into any mindset or view on the current managers job “security”. I still feel there is a potential for another “shyster” but I hope the owners have learnt that lesson.

Tony Mowbray was a player of a decent standard and has been a coach, assistant and manager at a high level. The comparison of experience for experience sake is just silly. I’m quite sure the original reference was in respect to being a highly respected manager for several years. Using Kean, should be saved for idioms or metaphors for dodgy or crooked behaviour in my opinion. The two men (never mind management ability) are diametrically opposed, in any way you can think, results, decisions, tactics, motivating, experience, personality, culpability, honesty etc Im not ashamed to say his name presses certain “buttons” when brought up because it was the most soul destroying time as a football fan as I can ever remember. -

I think anyone who would compare TMs impact with Steve Keans either doesn’t remember history or is simply a dingle on the wind up -
The part about Kean is ridiculous. Kean was given the top job when his prior experience and knowledge didn’t warrant it. He was given the job in a “cloak and dagger” style way, used as a method for getting certain agents players into the club and ultimately into a shop window. On top of that, he wasn’t humble, he wasn’t a good tactical manager, the squad looked unfit, fell out, one by one removed and replaced by a “Bradley Sore” Most Rovers fans would find it insulting to hear he “no different” in response to a bloke who effectively tied up £100 million+ In wages before he “resigned with a pay off”... The annoying thing to read on this website is, in my opinion, people who don’t realise what a “bad manager” is, don’t remember what damage Kean and Co did, and don’t respect just how difficult and long it’s taken to be even within touching distance of the playoffs. Mowbray has done a wonderful job for me, even if I think it might be time up for him next summer if we’re mid table come May - one of the most wonderful aspects of his impact is helping people seemingly forget just how bad it was back then!
-
Very unlucky really VDB (nI way attempting to spell the name) came back in style at 2-0 down. Will be a good learning curve at least, well done Bradley!
-
Blackburn fan Bradley Brooks is currently playing in this tourney (sky darts) Very good young player, world youth champion, been playing for a few years - has a PDC tour card. Also repping ARTE ET LABORE on his shirt. First set of competition he averaged 109! Exciting talent 👀

There’s loads of stuff discussed here as if it’s gospel - that probably isn’t anywhere near the actually reality of the scenario. Equally I can’t say for certain that Nyambe hasn’t been specifically targeted by TM in interviews - but I can say that I listen to most and I can’t ever recall a comment specifically against a player that I felt unfair. He has criticised Rothwell, Armstrong in his early days, Williams, and Bell much more from my recollections. The selection debate is (I know this word isn’t a popular BRFCS one 😆) subjective. Whilst I’d agree and argue along with you that I think he is our best right back - none of us can dismiss how prone to knocks he is. With all the analysis and sport science data available to teams now, it’s easy for me to think supporters don’t know the whole story about why he hasn’t had more than 31 apps in a season yet.
-
Yea I don’t think any of us could do to be honest. I think it would suggest he and his agent are trying to maximise his next contract - and all of us would probably do something similar
-
I don’t buy that he’s been treated any differently. What examples can you give to suggest otherwise? If he’s being specifically called out in post match interview regularly, it shouldn’t take you long to prove your point.
-
I don’t buy it. Nyambe has not been “treat badly” in my opinion, at any point of his rovers career. If he chooses to go abroad for free despite the opportunity and experience he’s been given here, then that says more about him and his agent than our club IMO. Do you think we wanted to sign a 22 year old with potential on a 1 year extension or do you think that might have been a result on not being able to agree a full new deal? I accept some might expect the club to get everything right and hold every card, in every situation - I would be annoyed but not surprised if the case is about money and Ryan maximising his potential earnings - especially when he’s known for having injuries.
-
I’m not sure how you managed to come to that conclusion, just sounds like more classic BRFCS “if you don’t agree you must be justifying your agenda bla bla bla” There’s plenty of reasons why Nyambe hasn’t been consistently available, but fans are welcome to make their own mind up. For me, niggling injuries and a high impact and energy style of playing can take their toll. It makes a lot more sense than the classic “TM fancies Benno LOL”

TRANSFER THREAD - JANUARY 2021
JBiz replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Wharton might’ve been on our minds all along when looking at finding a new left sided one. It takes time but I think he has the potential to be as good if not better than Lenihan. As for Ayala - the jury is out on him for me at the minute. Similar to Douglas, I just don’t think he’s anywhere near up to speed yet. -
How long have you been a physio man! We don’t know for sure exactly who’s fit and when they’re not injured.....

TRANSFER THREAD - JANUARY 2021
JBiz replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Same can be applied to managers. As for Derrick - he’s surely not good enough if we want to be promoted. He’s a decent player, he’s left sided but he’s always got a mistake in him. -
Unless a teams spiralling backwards, I don’t see why you’d pot a manager mid season or outside a transfer window. Hence why I’d wait. In terms of your other points; “ffp is just a perfect excuse” according to plenty of people on BRFCS. Its a bit ironic. FFP can’t be used as a reason for us not breaking the bank on wages again, “because if we wanted too, we’d find a way round it!” - but it can be used as a stick to beat the manager with because he hasn’t got us promoted fast enough to keep our squad? Also the fact that the Dacks, Armstrong’s et al will likely fetch a lot of bob this time, as opposed to being shipped out under a cloud (Duffy, Cairney, Marshall etc) will probably give us more chance to build (similar to Brentfords current setup) As for Nyambes contract; he can only go abroad for free, and if he goes somewhere like the top divisions of Germany, Spain or Italy - I’m not sure how anyone could specifically blame the manager. Players hold the cards these days. Without any facts, and just assumption; many say he’s ostracised him to the point he wants out. Many used Benno and his inclusion as an example for this, but how many muscle injuries has Nyambe had? His latest from sitting in a funny position on a long haul flight!? The reality is probably more like his agent has suggested he wait to see where we’re going to end up. Everyone here would do the same.
-
@DE. Mowbray and Waggott have put their own structure in for that I feel, and it’s called Damien Johnson. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if TM took a step up or back next season if he can’t get us above the glass ceiling you mention. I also wouldn’t be too unhappy about DJ having a spin at it, providing he had his choice of new backroom staff if necessary. If we had Bilic in early January with a decent pot for a couple of signings - I would rate our chances higher than TM at this point. That said, I think it would be unfair not to give him till the summer UNLESS we’re clearly going backwards.

https://www.wsc.co.uk/stories/13698-tony-mowbray-has-tough-task-at-blackburn-as-venky-s-remain-focus-for-anger I remember reading this when he took over and upon searching again, just a stark reminder of what he took over and what we have now. Its a good example of why many, including myself feel he has a done a very good job so far. The club have built the expectation level through results and investment in the playing squad, good decisions taken in the transfer market and in academy - if we don’t make the playoffs this season I’d call it a failure. At that point I would consider a change.
-
I can’t understand how anyone could’ve watched the last ten minutes and thought the tactic was to hold onto a point.

Rovers v Rotherham Utd. (h) Wed. 16th Dec. 7.45pm

Have to agree @arbitro his body language at times is frustrating to see, he is supposed to be “in control” and in no sport, employment, game - literally anything you need a team for, should the leader/manager be flailing around with his head in his hands, staring at the floor. I think last night might’ve been as frustrating for him as it was for all of us but you’ve got to be professional. Would’ve loved to see his reaction at full time tbh. There is the thing though, we’ve criticised managers in the past for seemingly not giving a shit!
