  1. More games, more goals. He scored against us 😄
  2. At the same time we're selling Szmodics for £9m who we 'allegedly' were offering £22k/pw so it's give and take. Waggott also uses installments as an excuse every chance he gets, but all incomings are paid in installments as well. Sure, we do have a problem with generating FCF but we've banked a hell of a lot from sales that a £6m fee shouldn't be totally written off. Don't know who and what we're chasing but we better chase fast and not run up blind alleys - this might just be one, and we're not even sure if we've approached Stansfield's agent or Fulham.
  3. Nixon linking Sheffield Wednesday to Gustavo Puerta now.
  4. He can play across the front and we definitely need more bodies, especially ones with pace. What happens if Gueye is injured; who will hold the ball up?
  5. Gallagher took a pay cut to come here for £5m if I remember correctly. If he wants to play then that might be motivation enough. Probably less than 10% of it happening, but seeing has he's linked at least we get a bit of discussion going.
  6. Probably room for extra wages for marquee signings. Plus he's young so wouldn't think he's on daft wages really.
  7. He'd get a pay-rise at Hull, that's for sure. Don't think he'd mind that himself and he's seen a few of his mates leave, plus there must be pre-existing issues that are still there, and that led up to his January loan move to Ipswich.
  8. We could give Fulham a buyback clause for £25m. @JHRoverI know you're pessimistic an rightfully so. I'll judge our dealings on September 1, and continue to let myself dream more than a little bit in the meantime. 'Defenders are coming', deals made late with no time to replace, only for no replacement to be bought in the next transfer window either. Wish someone would challenge the transfer windows in the court systems tbh. Anyway... we have a good group of players and a manager that knows the importance of having a good dressing room, so they'll make sure we have the right characters in place. Seems a bit counter-productive to usher out Travis in that sense so wonder if that's the work of SW rather than Eustace.
  9. His title is 'Blackburn dream of Stansfield swoop' so guessing it's one of the harder deals to do. Tom Cannon on loan from Leicester an option? Probably a very expensive loan option...
  10. He hasn't been talking nonsense all summer so why would he start now? But hope someone on his Patreon follows up and asks if Stansfield is depending on the courtcase and/or if it's one of the deals that he classifies as 'some harder than others'. @chaddyrovers? https://x.com/reluctantnicko/status/1824417643660562524
  11. Schwäbe looks agile and with quick feet/gets up quickly to make another save. Judging by some Youtube clips.
  12. Big no to Ruddy from me. Krul is injured and hasn't played much the past few years so would definitely prefer Iversen or Schwabe.
  13. We have a good track record with our marquee signings now. Rhodes we made a profit with, same with Arma and Breo could've been sold for a profit but 'we' chose not to. I think Venky's are realising the model is working but my guess is we have to wait for the outcome of the court case. Germain announcement in a day or two, and then we will see... Stansfield came on in the 90th minute on Friday btw.
  14. Could Dolan possibly be off then? Seems we'll be quite stacked in the forward positions all of a sudden, if we bring in both him and Germain.
  15. Stansfield: “I made my Premier League debut as a left winger. But I played right winger and as a number nine throughout my youth career so I’m comfortable playing anywhere across the front four, but I think I can impact the games more as a number 10.”
  16. I think only Gueye and Harry Leonard will be our classic strikers, while the others are more versatile forwards. Stansfield would be a great addition, but think we’ll only reinvest the Szmodics money in full if the court case is successful. If Travis leaves we’re short on the middle of the park, but maybe that means Hull won’t chase Gustavo Puerta. A bit sceptical to letting him leave at this moment but waiting to see who we will replace him with.
  17. Fair enough but I believe a better goalkeeper will help with that. We conceded one on the break from Brittain's error, and another was a beautiful attack when we weren't in balance. The most worrying thing so far is how poor we have looked on set pieces against, that has to be corrected.
  18. They can help see out games and influence from the bench and in the dressing room, as well as in training. Carter went off injured so Batth will probably start the next match.
  19. They will get a fee anyway, just as long as he doesn't move abroad?
  20. If we're not looking at Poku then who are we looking at? The problem with us is that as soon as there are other bidders it seems like we pull away from any deal as the buruaucracy within the club takes too long to get anything done in time. Free's and players we have tracked for a while, sure, but yeah...could be we're a bit better now with the new setup but not holding my breath over the quality of the signings we'll make.
  21. A little worried that our first eleven isn't fully matchfit. Gueye is a handful until he's out of energy and a real outlet for us, but we really struggle without him. JRC biggest disappointment so far, and think Weimann should start the next game. Brittain giving the ball away before their second goal was borderline criminal, but we got away with a few individual mistakes earlier in the match. Brittain made up for it with his brilliant cross to the brave Ohashi. Need a RW, think Hedges and Sigurdsson look okay on the left, and would prefer a quicker CM too, and a LB with some pace that we can use when Pickering gets skinned (been good so far). Great point, thought that wasn't more than we deserved, but a little bit better concentration and we could've hit them on the break and gotten 2-0 before they equalised. Josh Sargent is quality.
  22. JRC hasn’t looked convincing in his role so far. Does make some good runs into the box but would start Weimann on the right in our next game.
  23. £2m and you’re dreaming’ pal 🙂 We have to consider which level of players we are competing for and in that bracket I think Khadra and Ayari would be good additions. The pace alone of Khadra does something to the opposition’s defensive strategy, which in the opens up various other avenous. He’s not the best ball player unfortunately but we won’t get a ready made player that has it ‘all’.
  24. Looks like Brøndby, Anderlecht and the third I'm not sure. Rangers, PAOK and Rovers have been mentioned as interested parties.
