We need bodies in so think McFadz and Batth makes sense. Between the two of them they'll probably feature a total of 46 or more times, meaning we'll have a proper defender/leader on the pitch in every match. I'm just happy we're making signings, but hope we can spend 'big' on one or two before the window shuts.

Yeah, I don’t particularly rate him either. And he’s on too high wages to be playing understudy for Tronstad. I thought I saw a player in Garrett but he hasn’t developed as much as I’d have thought he would. Need a CM that can do it all.

Depends on how JE wants us to play. Didn't fit well under JDT's system, and we haven't really seen much of what Eustace has to offer yet as it was all safety first in most his games in charge last season. Jury's out on Gueye. I think him signing proves how difficult it is to sign strikers these days. If he can grab 10 goals then excluding penalties then we should probably not complain. I would replace Travis too with a more box to box midfielder. No suggestions but think he's too negative in how he plays and usually gets heavy-legged after a run of matches. Tronstad way ahead of him in his best position too, so don't see a place for him in the starting eleven.

Reminds me of how we waited to re-sign Stewart Downing at the same stage of his career, and he came back in a lot worse shape and needed a handful or more games before he was up to the pace again. Arguably he never got back to the levels from the season prior.

There was interest from bigger clubs so I'm sure they have set out a plan for him. Not saying this season will be the one but think he'll be given chances in the League Cup first, and if he takes his chances, then he'll be brought on from the bench in the league as well. Then who knows. Shouldn't be in any more rush in twelve months than now, if everything is according to plan. Grasping at straws here...

Can't rule Ohashi out and at the same time claim Szmodics is worth £20m in a PL move. But it sure sounds like a direct replacement and a downgrade/big gamble if so. We might bring a winger in as well with pace but think we're going to put a lot of faith into Tyjon being the next big thing and more money into the coffers after losing Finneran. Reinvesting 10% sounds plausible to me.

He can fire them back up a couple of times if/when they get relegated so he’s worth north of £10m. Imagine what relegation would cost us.

We might gamble on waiting this one out, and let him go cheap if the court case in India goes south. Our negotiation position (still) isn’t as bad as it was in January.

Under rejected us in the end because he wanted to fight for his place. He got his chances towards the end of that season so can’t blame him really. As long as we have a player that’s up there in the scoring charts we shouldn’t be too worried about who it is, but the day Szmodics gets injured or signs for another club, we’ll get to see what our other players are made of. Prices are crazy inflated now so do anyone honestly believe we’ll find/sign someone better than Gallagher?

Eustace obviously wants to spice the squad up with some experience and I’m glad we’re not pushing the boat out for Cooper. Maybe it’s negotiating tactics towards McFadzean as well, who I think we should sign as he can teach the other defenders (and Pears) to grow a set and learn how to defend properly. He’s a proven success too but is best suited playing in a three-back line. As things currently stand we need a lot of luck with injuries to our key players.

His goals are worth a lot, if only for one season. If he can help fire a side to promotion then age doesn’t matter really because they will receive ‘silly’ Premier League money. £15m valuation seems about right to me. Szmodics will probably agree it’s reasonable. Think if he signs the contract offer on the table then he’s made captain too.

Begovic is way past it, and Dykes seems to be the next Luca Toni; linked every window. Hard pass for me.

A bit depressing to read about A. Wharton constantly. I think most of the fans on here are on the same page on that one. We can judge this transfer window once it’s shut but we need bodies in soon to start making a unit. With the amount of players we need it will take some time to make a team out of it. We could be in for a rough start anyhow.

We can't afford the luxury of letting him make so many errors while on the job. Our GKs did their best to send us down last season and needs improving. No big loss.

I think if Eustace wants an exciting winger our best bet might be Siriki Dembele. I have a feeling he likes Ryan Hedges based on the glimpses he saw last season. No news yet on Dolan (and Gallagher) so could be some exits before incomings. Hyam out makes sense too but doubt it'll happen.
